everytime u go outside ur spending $60 automatically its crazy $60 is the new $20
Stop buying food and coffee and make it at home. I'm begging everyone.
ok well i filled up my car with gas and got cat food for my cats so idk how this applies to me also the “don’t buy coffee anymore” thing is rlly annoying from ppl acting like buying coffee is the reason ppl r struggling to keep purchases under 20 dollars instead of capitalism inflating prices for shareholders to buy another five houses like. eventually yall gotta stop doing the “no more avacado toast!” thing to ppl bc there is no budgeting that is enough to outrun inflation
ochakos (and some himikos) from my notebook #mynotebook
they should invent a secret second weekend so that you can see friends and do fun things while still having enough time to do errands and sleep in without dying of exhaustion all the time
i really genuinely wish I could hit chatgpt with my bare fists and hear its pityful electronic voice fade into glitched robotic gibberish and choking beeps as I hit it before I smash it for good and it shuts the fuck up forever
no no it's fine
why are so many people wondering if I'm horny for chatgpt. it's like the most unfuckable robot ever created heeell NO
dragging you out of the tags like it's the last thing I'll ever do on this site

some tomodachi life happenings.
shoutout to everyone dealing with. thhe fucking difficulty
the fact that all of my mutuals immediately reblogged this from me really says something about all of us, doesn't it
I love that canonically Phoenix, Apollo, and Naruhodo have all been told that they need to change their face cause they're freaking people out lmao. None of these lawyers can hide an emotion to save their goddamn lives (Phoenix had NO poker face before the 7yg, I love it)
Anyways I love thinking about being at the prosecutor bench and the defense is sending you borderline supernaturally bad vibes. Absolutely dismal atmosphere in the courtroom right now. Fucking hysterical. Klavier looked at Apollo doing whatever the fuck this is from across the courtroom and was like "Wow, what a freak. I need to hang out with him right now." And I love them both for that
(Felt wrong to leave Truce out. A young girl staring you dead in the eye and smiling while completely unraveling your entire life would be so goddamn scary lmao)
I really like how the scientology speedrunning trend is developing, in this clip we see that the participants are
Not deterred by the closed door
Working as a group
Protecting their identities
Inflicting material costs to the institution via property destruction
Getting away at the end
These ideas were not all here from the beginning. They are genuinely gaining experience that can be applied elsewhere
The church of scientology is on tumblr and they are sending me anon asks telling me that they can't even commit to reporting a post
A collection of time travel humor text posts, not censored by me.
All of these really made me laugh, and laughter is a very good thing sometimes. All of the time, actually. Unless you're doing something that requires a still hand or silence I guess.
Nothing reminds me what a goddamn miracle modern medicine is more so than hearing stories about people who contracted the black plague in the 21st century and were prescribed antibiotics for it.
Like yeah man you got the disease that wiped out half of Europe, like, a couple separate times within written history, and we have no clue how many times before that. To cure it you have to take 14 pills and drink lots of juice. You’re gonna feel kind of crummy for a while. It’s vitally important you take all 14 pills.
Reddit post: Hey I'm thinking about pursuing this career does anyone have any advice for my path?
Comments: This job is hell my life is hell don't do it. I wake up every morning for work and hold a gun to my head while doing deep breathing exercises. Find a time machine and go back to 1979 if you even want a chance of getting a position. Prepare to move 5000 miles away. You will be paid one penny per hour for the first 15 years and your days will be 12 hours long at minimum. Being dead is better than doing this profession
"I hate how American media will just make up a European nation rather than do any research, so I'm going to get back at them by writing a story set in a fake American state" like, do you have the slightest idea how much American media is set in a geographically impossible fictional small town located in no particular state and characterised entirely by some guy from Los Angeles' collection of half-remembered stereotypes about the American Midwest? They've already got the "lazily inventing fictional parts of America" bit locked down.
No, if you want to play the Uno reverse card on American media, what you need to do isn't to make up a fake state: you specifically need to wilfully misrepresent southern California.
A YA romantasy writer filed suit against another writer for copyright infringement, and as is always the case with these things, she padded her claims with delusionally spurious examples. The judge issued a 160-page ruling against the plaintiff where you can tell from the start how resentful they (or whatever clerk actually did the work) are to have been forced by duty to have read the works in question.
"Alaska is a place known to the public, so setting a novel in a Alaska is not copyrightable."
“hot, sexy, dangerous boys — central to virtually all young adult romance novels — cannot be copyrighted”
So, I read through the full court filing, and I promise you it's at least five times funnier than whatever you're thinking lol. In addtion to the above, we've got some real heavy hitters here:
"The heroines of both works are female teenagers with supernatural abilities. But Freeman’s copyright “do[es] not entitle [her] to protection of the idea of a character with superhuman powers who battles the forces of evil.”"
"....Rather, it is a perfectly normal reaction from someone who has just been kidnapped; it is impossible to imagine a character who would not be fearful in this situation. And there is, of course, nothing remotely original about using breathing techniques to cope with anxiety."
"Freeman’s position that the romantic leads are substantially similar because they both feel a responsibility to protect the heroine from supernatural creatures wanting to harm or kill her exemplifies the weakness of her argument. There is nothing original about a romantic lead who wants to protect the heroine; it is perhaps the ultimate teen romance trope. A romantic lead who does not want to protect the heroine from evil supernatural creatures would never be found in a young adult romantic fantasy novel."
"Of course, both BMR/Masqued and Crave include the inevitable love story between the heroine and a hot boy who turns out to be a paranormal – this is “romantasy” fiction, so there has to be a romance, and hot boys are a staple of the genre."
"The only apparently “diverse” character in Freeman’s drafts is Brendan, the protagonist’s friend, who is both multiracial and gay. The symbolic presence of one multiracial, gay character – especially a character whose race and sexuality do not factor into Anna/Mia’s (or even Brendan’s) story arc in a major way – does not make “diversity and inclusion” a protectable theme of Freeman’s work. It is significant that Brendan is totally closeted; he does not even have a same-sex attraction to another character in BMR/Masqued and only Anna/Mia knows about his sexuality. As for his race, it is mentioned once, then dropped; it is irrelevant to the story. It is, in short, tokenism."
And my personal favorites...
"A live but enchanted parent is not the same thing as two dead ones. And children are generally traumatized when a parent dies; suffering physical and psychological scars is hardly uncommon – or copyrightable."
"And of course, there is a massive difference between getting drunk at a party and having one’s inhibitions loosened, and being poisoned so that one can be tied up and used as a human sacrifice."
"I will not bother to critique Freeman’s notion that choosing between potential boyfriends represents a high expression of feminism. But her characterization of what the two heroines do misrepresents what is actually found in Freeman’s and Wolff’s works."
"Freeman’s contention that the works treat the theme of “feminism” similarly because both protagonists take advanced classes at high school, quote great works of literature, love reading, and discuss French philosophers is hardly worthy of comment."
"(footnote) I would not have characterized Anna/Mia’s introspectivity in this manner if left to my own devices, but I will accept Freeman’s characterization in order to explain why it does not create substantial similarity."
"But Freeman did not invent an attack scene that starts with a confrontation and capture, progresses to the heroine’s rescue, and concludes with the aftermath of the attack. An attack sequence structured any other way would make little sense."
