The abandoned Mys Aniva Lighthouse, Sakhalin Island, Russia. Built in 1939 by Japanese engineer Miura Shinobu, it was reclaimed by the Soviet Union after WW2 and turned into an autonomous nuclear-powered lighthouse. It’s said to be still radioactive today.
Apocalypse soon, Oleg Vdovenko (soon)
The “horrible disaster in pitch darkess lit momentarily by camera flash” mood in these paintings is incredible.

Snowing at sea
Why do I never think about the possibility of snow on the ocean??? Now I see why, because it’s too ethereal
just calling it now

How do u expect the world to end?
Sorry, I never saw this ask and I don't know how old it is.
I fear that the younger of us will experience severe breakdowns of global civilasation due to climate change, although I can't say how comprehensive it will be. I do climate activism, and hopefully we will reach IPCC's recommended goals and more before 2030.
If we don't, we'll likely see (more) devastating natural catastrophies, wars for ressources, internal conflicts and global outbreaks, to the point where international trade and knowledge exchange breaks down.
I still dare to hope and work for a solarpunk future nontheless :)
It's also a matter of semantics, are we talking the end of globalisation, human civilisation, human extinction, earth being swallowed by the sun or the heat death of the universe?
Jetřichovice, Czech Republic, in the middle of the Bohemian Switzerland National park

Mariina lookout (German Marienfels) is a sandstone rocky hill near Jetřichoviceand is 428 meters above sea level. in 1856 the Ferdinand Kinský cottage was built on the top which served as an observatory for fire patrols. In the nineteenth century, the hill acquired its present name when it was named after Maria Anna Kinská, wife of the owner of the estate. Before that, the hill was names Big Ostrý.
It is my most favourite place in the park, not that well known, and during winters or after sunrise you can enjoy the place all by yourself. On this particular night I stayed well after sunrise with my dog Rosie. It was only after midnight we started to make the 45mins hike back in the pitch dark.It is moments like these that make you feel alive.
Same place, different day.
