When people ask me why I now support Bernie Sanders instead of Hillary Clinton
This isn’t the first time Wood has spoken out, recently he explained how Baltimore police started the Freddie Gray riots.
don’t be afraid to be carried home the sky, it will open up it will swallow you whole but don’t worry my love it will feel so nice on your soul so nice on your soul and you will be laid to rest by gentle hands and you will be sorely missed by your mother and your father and you, you will become your most favorite color you, you will become your most favorite color
TV, film & storytelling matter
Pretty much sums it up.
Happy International Women’s Day to all. Today we celebrate the women who have come before us, who have suffered and loved and lived their lives in all the ages that led to this one. We celebrate the many great achievements of our female pioneers, inventers, rulers, scientists, writers, warriors, teachers. We honour the sacrifices that many women have made in history, and that many women are still making today. Today we stand together, united under the banner of womanhood; no matter the colour of our skin, or the language on our lips, no matter who we choose to love, or what religion we follow, no matter the manner in which we choose to live our lives, no matter our physical limitations, or our mental differences, nor our age, our shape, or the gender of our birth. No matter the differences in our outer worlds, our outer selves we are all united as women in spirit. I hope that we can stand together in solidarity, and let our differences shine, while remembering what binds us all together. That we love one another and do our best to uplift each others spirits, that we demolish the social constructs that have us turning upon each other, that we learn to love others and forgive them, that we learn to love ourselves and forgive ourselves. That we compliment and encourage each other, that we work together to create a better and safer world for ourselves, and for the women in generations to come. Love, Lily.
International Women’s Day History:
On Oct. 24, 1975, 90% of Icelandic women went on strike, refusing to do any work at their homes or their jobs. It was the largest demonstration in the nation’s history and shut down the entire country. Airports were closed, schools were closed, and hospitals couldn’t function. The strike had an immediate and lasting impact. The following year, Iceland’s Parliament (now half women) passed a law guaranteeing women equal pay and paid maternity leave. Four years later, Iceland elected the world’s first female President. And today, Iceland has the highest gender equality in the world.
on this women’s day, let me do a shout out to women who aren’t seen as “strong”, who aren’t financially successful, who aren’t easy for the world to handle. disabled women, trans women, women of color, bi and pan and lesbian women, women who are unemployed, women who have to fight to get through the day. your existence is radical. i love you.
now this is home, this is wealth, awakening to the sound of the sea

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of solo adventures. Everything from eating lunch by yourself to strolling in the park alone all help to shape your sense of independence. If you’re never by yourself how will you ever know yourself.
