Okkk but have we considered that it’s easier to say someone you cared about was always evil and they were hiding their true self from you rather than reckon with the fact that they changed so drastically?maybe if you had made a different choice it wouldn’t have been that way but you’ll never know and they’re dead forever.

have we considered that what someone says about a person when they’re coming to terms with the fact that they’re going to have to kill them might not be the most accurate picture of how they feel?

have you considered that you can love and cherish someone but still do what you have to do to stop them, and doing so doesn’t erase all the feelings you had and it’s ugly so you tell yourself what you have to to protect yourself

like yeah it’s not an excuse for being a piece of shit but boy does it make me want to approach them with more compassion and I feel like the fact that the author expects the opposite to happen isn’t great
