New Orleans, pt. 3: hanging with Chris, sunset at the Cabrini bridge, park and swamp walks, gator!
New Orleans, part 2: more music, cemeteries, Bourbon Street, and chargrilled oysters mmmm..
New Orleans, part 1: beignets (of course), Zydeco Festival, The Spotted Cat, a talking parrot, and some showers that cooled everything off for the weekend.
A stop at Florida Caverns State Park - a cavern tour and a magical, much-needed swimming hole!
St. Augustine, pt. 2: walking around, the very strange Lightner Museum, breakfast with Aunt Susan
St. Augustin, FL: some much needed R&R, kayaking, sunset seeing
Savannah part 2, and a beach trip to Tybee Island!
Savannah part 1. Hot but so pretty, walking around.
Atlanta! Yes we are incredibly behind, but maybe we’ll do some catching up soon. Had fun walking around Piedmont Park, got some great cocktails, had a fun night out with Ginny and Jeff to Clermont Lounge (not pictured but represented by the morning-after Waffle House meal), and a visit to the High Museum.
BBQ after pool time in Nashville and fun with Violet, Max, & Levi!
Nashville! So nice to have some recharge time at Nancy and Sadie’s (thank you!), see family, and have the perfect summer BBQ.
Smoky Mts, 3rd and final part: breakfast at camp, and down and out we go
Smoky Mts, part 2: dinner at camp
Hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, 6 miles all uphill, woof. Worth it for the empty campsite
Asheville, part 3 (the end): Wedge brewery by the train tracks, and open mic at the lovely Bywater bar after a delicious dinner on the grill by John. Next stop: camping in the mountains.
Asheville, part 2: more wandering, a stop at Green Man brewery, and Battery Park Book Exchange.
Asheville, part 1: wandering around town after being welcomed by our Couchsurfing host, John, and his cat, Scout, who warmed up to us quickly :)
Great first dinner at a little cafe, Homegrown. Our Asheville host is a photographer and was kind enough to show us his studio, where he shoots many of his portraits by window light. He also shared some great Asheville tips and took us to see music by the river our second night, coming up.
