“India, Israel and United States are natural allies. They have one thing in common, all three are engaged in overt, neocolonial military occupations. India in Kashmir, Israel in Palestine, the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan.” -Arundhati Roy
The last time I posted this with the link to the full video for those who might somehow still be skeptical of a decades long fact was in 2023, which is practically yesterday and still screamingly relevant—and explicit.
For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.
Heyyy guess where I live
A local paper had some great photographs, all taken by Nicole Hester:
The day before, Rep. Justin Pearson tries to attend a Senate Committee meeting and is barred access by the Sergeant at Arms.
Lawmakers and protesters link arms as the descend the capitol steps.
Once inside the chamber, Democratic representatives continued to stand together with arms linked.
They continued standing together with arms linked as votes were cast.
Democratic representatives take a group photo protesting the redistricting.
Rep. Justin Jones burns a photo of the Confederate flag with the words, We will not go back.
And stomps the ashes.
KeShaun Pearson being escorted from the building by the Staties.
KeShaun Pearson (left) being taken into custody. Rep. Justin Pearson (right) showing his support of his brother.
Additional information: State lawmakers have been gunning for Pearson and Jones nearly their entire terms. Most notably, in 2023, the House expelled them for participating in a protest at the Capitol. Their districts had to have special elections to have them reinstated.
Pearson is one of the plaintiffs of a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the redistricting.
The city most affected by the redistricting is Memphis, where locals are fighting against xAI's data center, which has been operating with very little oversight and is poisoning the people who live there. Here is a previous post on that with more information and more sources.

Local LGBTIQ+ organisation LEGABIBO welcomed the government’s move, describing it as “a necessary and long-overdue step toward restoring dignity and aligning our legal framework with constitutional values of equality and human rights.” The group said the change sends “a clear message that LGBTIQ+ persons are not criminals, and that their lives and relationships deserve protection, not punishment.” LEGABIBO noted that the colonial-era provisions had long cast a shadow over the lives of LGBTIQ+ people in the country.
Nader has spent the last eighteen years of his life in the Gaza strip. He has witnesses war after war, famine, fear, and death. His little cousin is now a toddler and has known nothing but terror herself.
If you'd like to help my friend Nader and his family afford food, medical, and housing costs please consider contributing to Nader's fundraiser, or reblogging! Thank you so much.
FUNDRAISER HERE.
Please do consider helping Nader. His father is currently going through treatment for cancer and their family could use all the help they can get!
FUNDRAISER.
For nearly three years, a devastating war has ravaged the Gaza Strip, leaving nothing untouched. We have been starved, besieged, displaced, our homes destroyed, and we have suffered immensely. We have lost so many of our loved ones, and this war continues unabated. We are desperately trying to survive by collecting donations, as they are the only thing that can keep us alive. My father's and brother's workplaces have been destroyed, and my father is battling cancer. Please don't hesitate to donate. Your donations are our only hope. Please donate now.
Please donate!
Nader's family has gone through @gazavetters verification and they're at #4 on that spreadsheet.

US Book ban on LGBTQIA books
The nationwide book ban bill, HR 7661, has progressed out of committee and into the House. Here's what you need to know to take action.
At least hit the shiny repost button if you're going to do nothing else. This should not stand.
Stop the bill dead in its tracks. LGBTQIA people have a right to be represented in books.
We need to be loud and firm over and over again. There are a lot more of us and they need to be reminded of that. They do not actually care about children, that's been made extremely clear.
The Tehran Times dedicated today’s cover to the schoolgirls who were killed in the US-Israeli airstrike on Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ Elementary School in Minab (along with other Iranian children killed by aggressors).
Each person being killed by American bombs in West Asia right now contains a universe within them, whether they have credentials or not. It astounds me to see that people in countries not being bombed mourn only those whom they consider “civilized” (people with professional degrees, dual citizenships with western countries and so on).
the complete and total defeat in the prosecutor's voice at the very end..... im 💀💀💀
Havent seen a lot about this on tumblr so maybe not a lot of people know:
He was wrongfully raided by police in 2022
He used footage and names of the specific cops in posts, videos and songs making fun of them
The cops sued for defamation and cried in court about the songs ruining their lives
He won anyway
I love how unapologetic he is. And rightfully so!! How you gone cry about being embarrassed when you weren't crying about barging into my home and threatening my life? No one was worried about anybody's children when they weren't the right color. They good. 🤷🏾♀️
There's something thats just so incredibly funny about the Afroman lawsuit cause theres literally no substance to it. Seeing all these cops getting upset and offended by Afroman music in a courtroom setting is just so fucking funny. Like a lawyer asking a cop "what private information of yours exactly was breached by the phrase "receding hairline dipshit"?" Like you could have saved yourself the extra humiliation, but instead you guys took it to court and now everyone has seen your sheriff literally break down crying over a song that says she licks pussy. Thats just objectively hilarious
Since I hate vague posting and think everything needs context:
The military generally only give soldiers great food (lobster, steak, chocolate) when they’re going to war.
Rest of the time, they get nice but regular food.
Oh, the Iran situation is bad.
