Following is my translation of Idia Shroud’s vignette for his Bloom Broom Birthday card.

Part 1
Idia: Alright. Here we go again. I never ask for any of this nonsense on my birthday, and yet they practically shove it down my throat every year. Yaaaay….woo-hoooo….*sigh* Not only do I have to sit down and talk face-to-face with some rando, but they also banned me from using my tablet. Ugh, this sucks. I might not be able to get through this depending on who the presenter is….
(Someone knocks at the door)
???: Please excuse me.
Riddle: It’s me, Riddle Rosehearts. I’ll be your presenter today, Idia-Senpai. Happy Birthday.
Idia: U-ug..h….H-Hello….Actually, you know what...since I didn’t get stuck with one of those party people types, then maybe I can get through this…
Riddle: We see each other quite often, but it’s rare for us to have the opportunity to speak together at length like this. Let’s go ahead and get started with the interview.
Idia: Thank goodness, we can skip all that icebreaker stuff. Ok, let’s make this quick, please.
Riddle: Alright, then here’s the first question: If you could use flying magic and travel to wheresoever you desire, where would you go? Additionally, please note you needn’t take into consideration the amount of magic used to reach your destination.
Idia: I-I don’t really want to go anywhere. Obviously, my room’s my favorite place to be.
Riddle: That’s exactly what I thought you were going to say. You certainly aren’t one to defy people’s expectations…However, as the interviewee, you are required to answer these questions. I'll wring the answer out of you, if I must.
Idia: Yikes. What, is the title of this interview “A Senpai gets threatened by His Kouhai on His Own Birthday!”, or something…? Ahhh, a place I’d like to go to, huh….Oh, wait...
Riddle: Have you landed on something?
Idia: I do kinda wanna go to Hydra Valley.
Riddle: Hydra Valley? If I remember correctly, that’s a valley located in the Kingdom of Heroes. I’ve heard it’s got quite a precipitous rock wall.
Idia: Yup, that’s the one. There’s a legend that a nine-headed beast once claimed the whole valley as its stronghold.
Riddle: I must say I'm quite surprised. I hadn’t thought you’d want to brave such a perilous location.
Idia: Hold it. I never said anything about planning to go rock climbing there or whatever. I’ve got my own reason for wanting to check out the valley.
Riddle: Might I hear it?
Idia: Yeah. It was the filming location for a movie I’ve liked since I was a kid.
Riddle: In other words, you wish to see for yourself how it looks like in real life.
Idia: Exactly. Apparently, since CGI wasn’t all that great back then, and they didn’t have, like, drones to film with, the actors and filming crew actually had to scale the cliff themselves. And you know what else, I even heard the camara operators would use flying magic to film while up in the air. Man, even just watching the movie gets my heart pounding!! I bet since the valley looks that cool in that old movie footage, then it must be even cooler in real life…I guess it’s like, when your curiosity gets the best of you and you wanna go check out something that you just know is gonna scare you.
Riddle: I understand. When you experience things for yourself, it can help broaden your own knowledge. I hope you'll be able to make it to the valley someday.
Idia: Well, if we’re talking about me flying there, that ain’t happening with my skills. And even if I try getting there some other way, it’d just suck up way too much of my time and energy. For indoor types, it’s obvious the best choice is gonna be a 365° panorama VR experience! And if you add a feature that allows the user to experience the smells and weather around them, it’d be even more awesome. Maybe I’ll make a device like that myself one day and do a speedrun through the old filming location!
Part 2
Riddle: The next question is: What subject are you good at?
Idia: Ahh, I guess summoning?
Riddle: That’s one of the more difficult forms of magic - one that requires a wide breadth of knowledge, as well as the ability to correctly perform a number of complex steps in a limited amount of time. I’ve heard there are many students who lack confidence in that subject…and my Heartslabyul students are no exception. Might I ask how you go about your studies?
Idia: Umm, I don’t really do anything I’d consider “studying”.
Riddle: Huh? Then what did you do to become so proficient at it?
Idia: I guess I was able to master the basics just from playing a bunch of video games. I mean stuff like having to input a bunch of commands within a time limit and clearing missions in a specific order… and getting fairies and magical beasts to team up with you by trading items like rare food and plants with them.
Riddle: I’ve never heard of such a thing! To think, there are video games designed to allow one to study the foundations of summoning magic. Could you tell me more about them later?
Idia: That’s what you thought I meant?! Doesn’t surprise me to hear that from Riddle Rosehearts - the guy who’s pulled off getting this far in life without ever coming into contact with any form of entertainment…. Well, I guess if you mean that games can, like, let anybody kinda experience what it's like to perform a summon, then you aren’t totally off base. Besides, summoning magic itself does have some game-like aspects to it, like filling out a bestiary and earning trophies. And nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment you get when you finally crack some obscure spell and manage to summon a rare species.
Riddle: I don’t quite grasp everything that you’re saying, but I can at least understand you’re able to enjoy your studies by incorporating these gamified aspects into them. Idia-Senpai, I’m sorry to stray from our interview’s topics, but might I ask you my own personal question?
Idia: ...“I’m sorry, but” and “I want to ask you something” is a combo I do not like to hear!! Ahh, I’ve got a bad feeling about this… A-alright, if it’s something I can answer, then go for it.
Riddle: Thank you. In a paper you presented on magical devices, there’s a passage where you discuss a robot you’ve created to clean your bedroom. When it comes to cleaning, there’s a lot of work involved such as moving items around and sorting out what should be thrown away. For a mage of your skill level, Idia-Senpai, I imagine it’d be much more prudent to simply use summoning magic to get the job done, would it not? Rather than spending all that time designing a robot to do it.
Idia: Uh-uh. Whenever you summon a familiar or a fairy or whatever, your magic gets drained the whole time you have ‘em out. I mean, yeah, summoning something like a little cleaning fairy is pretty easy to do and doesn’t take up that much energy… but if we’re just talking about two or three pieces of trash, then it’s way more energy efficient just to have a robot go take care of it with the click of a button.
Riddle: Don’t tell me you built that robot simply to have it go pick up a couple pieces of trash… Wouldn’t it be much more “energy efficient” to just do that yourself!?
Idia: Nah, I don’t wanna get up and move around if I don’t have to. This question’s dunzo, Riddle-shi. Let’s get back on track now.
Part 3
Riddle: Well then, we’ve reached the final question. Please discuss the things you’d like to do during the next year.
Idia: ….I wanna go outside.
Riddle: WHAT!!!?? I-I didn’t mishear you, right…?
Idia: Nope, you heard me right. And thanks, you reacted just like I expected. Ortho got hold of some info saying there’s a really good hamburger shop in town, and apparently there’s some sort of limited time event they’ve got going on. So I’ve been wanting to check it out.
Riddle: Is that so…. I can’t say I understand the appeal…
Idia: Figures. Anyways, we could also go spend all day at Whistle Park, the one down by the port. Well, that's only if I got enough gas in my tank to last that long...
Riddle: Idia-Senpai?? Outside!? All day!??..... Ahem, please excuse me. And tell me, what do you envision doing at Whistle Park?
Idia: Do you really need to ask…? Of course, I’d just play video games.
Riddle: You’d really take the time and go all the way outside…just to play video games?!
Idia: It’s ridiculous, right!?! I was sooo excited when I heard some info got released for a new game that was coming out from my favorite series…only to find out it was just a friggin’ location-based game!!!
Riddle: L-location-based…?
Idia: Games that make use of your phone’s location services, and you play them by moving around. A bunch of them have been popping up recently to get people interested in exercising.
Riddle: So wait, that hamburger shop you mentioned before… Do you mean to say that instead of going there to dine at, you’d be going there because…
Idia: …because it’s a designated location where you can collect in-game items and battle people, yeah? Oh, and by the way, Whistle Park’s one of the best areas on the whole island for this game. You’ll get the most bang for your buck by going there.
Riddle: Ah, now I understand. That game must possess some powerful charm about it if it’s able to get you to want to go outside.
Idia: Nah, not really. There’s plenty of other games just like it, and I originally had no intention of playing it. Games like that just don’t really appeal to shut-ins like me, ya know. But then Ortho came up to me one day saying, “Big Brother, let’s play it together!” and he started researching a bunch of stuff about the game’s different locations on the island. It turns out there’s some nearby places we can play at, so I told him we could give it a shot. I figure it's not a bad idea if I go ahead and take the time now to go on lots of adventures together with Ortho, while we're both still going to the same school and all.
Riddle: Our interview has thus concluded. Thank you for such a captivating discussion. The only item left on today’s itinerary is for you to take flight upon the Birthday Road. Please, take this broom.
Idia: Ugh, you make it sound like this part is supposed to be easy… If I go flying around on a showy broom like that, I just know I’m gonna be sticking out like a sore thumb the whole time.
Riddle: How do you mean? I find the cool tones and refined look go well with your robes. Regardless, I’m sure Ortho is growing tired of waiting for you to appear. Please, do start making your way over there now.
Idia: O-oh no!! Not Riddle-shi’s super straightforward compliments! I can’t take it anymore, I’m outta here!!

Tonight before the bed I’m thinking about Samatoki Aohitsugi. I want more flashbacks on Samatoki’s backstory. “Mom killed dad and suicided” he says in a breath in his songs as if that’s easy. “Abusive alcoholic father figure” he says.
No, no, please get deeper.
I want to know more of you. Your family. Your household. How was your family house like? Do you still live in the same place the incident happened? Did you change apartments after Nemu left? Do you cook for yourself even when your sister is not around (in the present timeline, after you sort of processed the initial shock)? Do you shower in the morning or before the bed (or both)? What’s your favorite brand of drinks and cigarettes? How did you cope with such a huge trauma? How could you process loss of your mother, your father and then somehow your sister and then Sasara and then Ichiro— I don’t even mean SasaSama or SamaIchi in a specific ship way for this context. It can be romantic or platonic but what matters is that they were once Samatoki’s best friends and partners and he trusted them with his heart and invited them to his house and cooked for them and he even was starting to gradually prepare himself for Ichiro and Nemu potentially getting together. He trusted Ichiro that much and then, although neither Sasara, Nemu or Ichiro “betrayed” him, Samatoki was betrayed in his own perspective and there was no way of him finding out that they were hypnotsized.
In the end, Samatoki lost his mother, his father (we know that he despises his father and his father was abusive but in the end it was a person he lived with and it must have some sort of impact on him too), his sister, and two of his best friends. It sounds like a nightmare. Samatoki is a family-person and so am I. My family and best friends and partner are my priorities in life (along with myself and my career, but that’s irrelevant). Samatoki lost all of them in such a short time interval.

How on the earth is Samatoki still functioning?
How could he ever trust Jyuto and Rio? How could he ever eat food offered by a random dude living in woods and even after he knew what the food was made of, he always accepted the offer because he doesn’t want to make Rio sad?? That he is just nice and considerate about a grown ass man’s feelings like that??? He still has the feelings of responsibility and respect to face Jyuto and apologize for losing DRB???
Not only that but he still more or less tries his best to process the fact that Ramuda was somewhat responsible for half of his losses and he still tries to forgive Ramuda?? He tries, at least puts effort, to “forget about it because I’d do same to protect my sister” thing with Ichiro???? And he acknowledges that even after the hypnosis effect is gone, Nemu wants to stay in Chuuoku even at the cost of her fighting against Samatoki for that and HE FUCKING ACCEPTS HER DECISION AND RESPECTS HER AND CHERISHES HER???????
This guy lost his mother, his father, his sister HIS BEST FRIENDS T W I C E, his life got played over by his abusive father AND THEN FUCKING GOVERNMENT ITSELF, and he became a yakuza to deal with all that BUT HE STILL PROTECTS THE BULLIED IN YOKOHAMA, LOVES THE DUMPLINGS OF A WHOLESOME GRANDMOTHER, EATS RIO’S QUESTIONABLE FOOD JUST TO MAKE HIM HAPPY AND OVERALL DOES HIS BEST TO DEAL WITH HIS ANGER ISSUES AND TRIES TO FORGIVE PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY DID??? so uhhh I don’t normally get the Animatic Urge, but for some reason I really wanted to do this little bit from 6-37! there’s not really a punchline or anything, I just…inexplicably felt like drawing this scene (by which I mean the first little bit of this scene, minus a few lines for ~streamlining~ and the sake of not spending forever on it).
