Just finished packing. Hopefully going to leave in like 5 hours. Haven't slept. I fucking hate this. So nervous they'll turn me away.
it’s my last night at home before I go for intake tomorrow morning for psych inpatient and I have no fucking clue if I'll be able to stay there or if they’ll have to transfer be which I really really hope they don’t bc I've had absolutely no fucking luck with more intensive outpatient help bc apparently fuck every single person who can’t afford private health insurance or have some fucking cash cow for a 6-8 week program that costs ~$2,000/week out of pocket. I'm doing intake at the best hospital in the area and I really really fucking hope they’ll have a bed open for me there tomorrow. I don’t want to leave inpatient again feeling raw and like I'm back at square one. and I really thought with everything in me that I'd never have to consider/go inpatient again, especially since it’s only been about a year and a half since I first went. I can’t stand this. if I'd gotten the care I'd needed I probably wouldn't fucking be in this position. let alone being my family treating me like a goddamn child who’s entirely dependent on them. I'm just so angry and disgusted and depressed.
Trying to figure out my 2nd stay in psych inpatient, re applying for disability, and case manager assessment today all while feeling like absolute shit🙃
Our community is grieving so much ... an accidental death not too long ago, a former classmate's older brother, and now an innocent girl we went to school with killed by an intoxicated driver. It's just too much. I cant imagine how their family and friends must feel when it hits people like us so goddamn hard. Its tragic. I'm not comfortable posting on her Facebook, so I'll leave my condolences here. You didnt deserve this. I hardly knew you but I knew enough that you were an amazing friend and sister.
Being 21 is p great😝
aaaaah
Here's to hoping the buspar helps enough. And if it doesn't addind/switching for atarax. Bc otherwise I'll be stuck waiting until October for a new psych since my current one things all controlled substances are the devils lettuce especially benzos. I just wanted to scream at her, fuck you lady😡 you have no fucking clue what I go through.
of course anyone only ever turns 21 once but it’s a different ballgame being narcoleptic. then again I guess most people actually get fucked up but I only had 2 drinks spread apart by a couple hours. however that means I have to wait until 5am just for one dose for the night of the magic sleep liquid;-;
last week I got off my abusive mother’s phone plan and changed my number and my aunt also got me a new phone as an early birthday gift and today I sent off my second service dog application. Now for the nerves waiting for an answer.😭😭
Fuck. I found out I walk next month. I’m so stressed. What if I fail English again or if a 4yr college won’t want me or what if I get into a 4yr college but I don’t make it through??😭
I have an appointment tomorrow about transferring schools since I’ll be finished come fall and with my situation I need to apply to schools in August. This is all happening so fast I’m glad to nearly be done but holy shit. It’s so stressful
I love genuinely innocent “boys will be boys.” Just saw a guy come out of a frat house to poke a pair of jeans they’d left outside - they were frozen solid, and as soon as he confirmed that, like twenty more boys came rushing out of the house going “YOOOOOOOOOO”
I heard grunting outside my window the other night and there were four boys struggling to push this giant snowball (like 7 foot diameter) down the sidewalk.
I once lost my keys at a frat house.
My drunk ass had actually walked home without them, pounded on my apartment door, gotten let in by my rightfully-disgruntled roommate, and proceeded to pass out on the couch. Apparently I puked in the toilet before passing out. I do not remember this part.
The next morning, I schlepped back to the frat house. I stood there, right in front of the front door. This was a novel experience for me. I’d never been at a frat house in broad daylight before.
A boy, presumably, of the house, asked me what I was doing.
“I lost my keys in here last night,” I called back. “I was seeing if I could go in and look for them?”
He opened the door and gestured for me to come in.
“Go wherever you want.”
I’d never seen a frat house post-party before. Wandering up the stairs and through the halls, I was surrounded by hungover and still-drunk frat boys stumbling around in their socks and sandals and gym shorts, seeking out food and showers like moths to a porch light. A few of them threw puzzled glances my way. I’m sure they thought I was some post-bacchanalia hallucination.
I entered one room where a boy was drunkenly watching some Old Yeller-esque movie on a tiny TV in the corner of his room from his bed.
“Do you like dog movies?” he asked, voice all mumbly from grogginess and also from the fact that his face was squished against his pillow and half-buried by his blanket.
I told him I did.
He mumbled again, pleased, and asked what I was doing. I told him I was looking for my keys.
“Sorry, I haven’t seen any keys around here.”
I didn’t doubt him.
Twenty minutes had passed. I’d searched just about every bedroom and nuclear-waste-dump-site of a bathroom in that house. I’d given up on ever finding my keys and was prepared to beg my roommates’ forgiveness and get a new set copied.
As I stood there in the hallway, silently bewailing my predicament, a particularly-burly frat boy approached me.
“You need help with something?”
“I lost my keys here last night and I can’t find them, I’ve looked everywhere.”
“What do they look like? I’ll put it into the group chat.” He was already pulling out his phone.
No one ever checks a group chat, I thought, but what the hell. It was worth a shot. “Um, it’s just a ring of keys. The keychain is a pink plastic cat, though, like yea big. Like bright pink, you can’t miss it.”
He nodded, presumably typing this description faithfully into the group chat.
“Alright, I sent the message out. Good luck.”
And with that, he turned and left.
A few moments later, I heard a distant thundering. It was coming from upstairs, and it was getting louder and louder. One assumes that how I felt in that moment was how Simba felt seeing the wildebeest stampede through the ravine as a horde of large young men all thundered down the stairs, making a beeling for me.
“Someone tell the girl!” One of them shouted, faceless in the mob. “Girl! Hey, GIRL!!! We found your keys, girl!!!”
They circled around me. I hadn’t felt that small since I was maybe eleven years old. One of them split himself off from the crowd.
“Are these -” he pulled out a ring of keys from his pocket, “your keys?”
And lo, there was the distinctive bright millennial pink cat keychain dangling off the ring.
“Yes,” I whispered. “Oh my god, yes.”
“EYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!”
The cheer went up.
Turns out he found them in the bathroom upstairs. I thanked them again profusely. There was a scattered round of “no problems” and then, just as suddenly as they descended, they all dispersed, like ships in the night.
THIS is boys will be boys
on a camp with teenage boys recently and as i was one of the camp leaders, it was part of my duties to help wake said boys in the morning (at 6am or a similar ungodly hour).
we (the camp leaders) found the most efficient way to do so was to blast music from a tinny little speaker one of us owned.
so before the sun itself has risen, we’re walking down a corridor with 8+ rooms filled with 6 or more boys in each, blasting the one and only Let It Go from Frozen, hoping to wake a few students, preparing for hateful commentary.
instead, what we got was the thumps and shouts of boys excitedly leaping from bunk beds, stuffing on shirts and bursting into the corridor to scream the lyrics to Let It Go.
every.single.boy.did this.
as soon as the song finished, they acted like it never happened and went back to their rooms to get dressed.
4 deaths in one week? One a murdered cat? 3 from cancer? Yeah. Sure. Ok. Idk how much more of this I can take.
The judge said he was satisfied A.B. understood the benefits and risks of treatment and that postponing it further could result in A.B. trying to harm himself again
A 14-year-old transgender boy has the capacity to consent to his own medical treatments and should be allowed to proceed with hormone injections to help transition from a female to a male body without delay, a B.C. Supreme Court judge has ruled.
The teenager, who can be identified only as “A.B.,” has been at the centre of a complicated legal fight that raised questions about parental rights and child autonomy. His parents are separated and have joint custody.
While the boy and his mother were prepared to begin testosterone injections last summer, his father objected, citing the need for more time to examine the implications of such a move.
But in a written decision released Wednesday, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Gregory Bowden said he was satisfied A.B. understood the benefits and risks of treatment and that postponing treatment further could result in A.B. — who had previously attempted suicide — trying to harm himself again.
“The totality of the evidence regarding A.B.’s medical needs … leads me to conclude that his hormone treatment should not be delayed further,” the judge wrote.
“While A.B.’s father does not consent to the treatment, I am satisfied that A.B.’s consent is sufficient for the treatment to proceed.”
The best part is this:
“The judge went on to make the following declarations: that A.B. be referred to as male and identified by his chosen name in all legal proceedings, that he be allowed to change his legal name without the need for consent from his parents, that he is “exclusively entitled” to consent to medical treatment for his dysphoria, and that any attempt to persuade A.B. to abandon treatment or references to A.B. as a girl or using female pronouns “shall be considered to be family violence” under the Family Law Act.”
Coming from the Supreme Court of BC, it sets a really good precedent for future cases like this, to explicitly state that misgendering your child is an act of family violence.
shit .. 2 family deaths in the same morning.
Chegg is going to be the thing that saves my PC OS grade.😭😭 the only thing is, the research questions :\ and the windows questions ... but maybe I can use my 20 allocated questions for the month on those. I can also probably ask discord about the research questions. and my friend from high school said she took a similar class ... aaaah. I have to have this in on/before march 15th. then I can calm tf down bc it’ll be spring break.
My shopping list yesterday consisted of adult gummy vitamins, denture tablets, and kids toothpaste, all for me. And if that isn’t real life enough I don’t know what is.😂 the employee was so confused I was asking for denture tablets but like ..... my retainers need them!!!! And now they’re so clean :’)
