Academic Rivals Gelphie Art dump 🗣️💖
The line "You're the only friend I've ever had" implies that Elphaba never thought of Fiyero as a friend and that's just so fucking funny to me especially through a gelphie lens, because its either that or she literally just forgets about everyone else and is like "Ah yes Glinda the most important person to me ever"
gelphie for a friend's birthday :p

rant time! trust I love love love being femme, its gender performance but a genuine part of my identity, its my gender and my experience. As much as I love butchfemme spaces and other femmes and blah blah blah, SOME OF YOU ARE OUT HERE FANTICIZING TRADWIFE ROLEPLAY DURING A TIME OF WORLDWIDE RIGHT-WING DOMINANCE!!!
Something that gets forgotten in “femme” online is that it’s a FUCKING POLITICAL STATEMENT! it is a radical rejection of heterosexuality, a reclaiming of feminine in an explicitly queer context that EXCLUDES men! It’s SUBVERSIVE!
some people on here, on tik tok, on instagram, everywhere on social media, see it as a “coquette aesthetic” or pink and white, girlie and frilly. Yes femme can be those things, but some of you are not femme, you are just feminine queers. FEMME IS RADICAL! femme isn’t afraid to admit or display things that don’t fit in a traditional feminine mold. It’s using your privilege as often (but not always) straight passing to support other, gender non conforming people!!!!
Conservativism has taken the cottagecore, cute whatever the fuck and made it into housewife propaganda to throw women OUT. SOME OF YOU SOUND LIKE BALLERINA FARM!!!! The pipeline works for a reason, it starts with aesthetics and gets you wrapped in right wing ideologies.
It’s also INCREDIBLY WHITE! I am a white femme myself, but in all these fantasies and aesthetics there are only white women! It’s like some of you don’t see femmes of colour and women of colour as capable of the submissive femininity you aspire to!
Your queerness is a political statement in itself, but don’t go claiming femme identity if you are fantasizing about being a lesbian tradwife.
the way glinda says i love you too is so heartbreaking, as if she can't believe that elphaba has just said i love you to her. this is the moment glinda has been dreaming of since she realised how important elphaba is to her, but fate has condemned them to this being the circumstance in which they confess their love for each other

Glinda’s “Why Miss Elphaba, look at you, you’re beautiful” and Fiyero’s “It’s looking at things another way” are not the same
I truly believe Fiyero sees her as more of a novelty than anything. He likes the idea of her, the concept of a woman with that strength. He likes that she challenges him and has principles he believes in. But he never, not even for one second, sees through her the way Glinda does.
Not in the ballroom (she doesn’t give a twig what anyone thinks/ of course she does) not when saying she’s beautiful (it’s looking at things another way) not ever
Glinda said that line with so much tenderness and care and she meant it with her whole soul. She knew what it meant for Elphaba to hear those words, and she made sure there was no room for argument.
