Assault of Fort Bliss Soldier Sgt James Brown inside El Paso County Jail by Riot Police

Texas War Veteran Dies In Custody Telling Guards ‘I Can’t Breath’ 20Times

‘Brown, 26, was an active-duty soldier at Fort Bliss in Texas who has served two tours of combat duty in Iraq. He had no previous criminal record.

When he self-reported to the El Paso County Jail in July 2012 to serve a short sentence for driving while intoxicated, he said in writing that he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, according to jail records’

Watch what happened next.

‘The family’s attorneys, Jason Bowles and B.J. Crow, said the video poses some serious questions about the county jail’s treatment of Brown.

“When a 26-year-old man checks into jail for a court imposed sentence on a Friday, and he leaves Sunday in a casket, something went horribly wrong there,“ said Crow.

Brown’s family said he had shown no history of sickle cell crisis and that they believe his treatment in jail caused the medical emergency.

Crow added the claimed stress that brought about Brown’s sickle cell crisis at the jail was apparently more stress than the soldier had undergone while twice coming under fire during combat.

“He was bleeding out the ears, the nose, the mouth, his kidney’s shut down, his blood pressure dropped to a very dangerous level, and his liver shut down,” said Crow.

Brown’s family, meanwhile, wanted the public to know what happened to him at the El Paso County jail’                        /source/

Here is another illustration of the American Law enforcement system. James’ family wants the story became public, I hope that we will help to fulfill their will. In fact, such cases usually stay a mystery to the public, this time motherfuckers responsible for the murder won’t escape punishment.

I’m sure this is not the only case occurred in this prison. If the cops patrolling the streets are a real danger to people, then imagine how dangerous it’s to deal with the cops who work with prisoners. Damn! It’s so wrong…

Some facts you should remember before talking about how the UK ‘got itself into this mess’:

The winning party got less than 37% of the votes. That’s not a win. That’s not the whole of the UK voting for the Tories. That’s them getting 37% of the votes. It’s not even 37% of the voting public. 66.1% of the voting public actually voted.

63,489,234 people in the UK. (Not all of them can vote, I know) 46,425,386 people can vote. 15,900,000 people did not turn up to vote at all. (No official count) 11,334,920 people voted for the Conservative Party. 30,698,210 people did not vote for the Conservative Party.

These results show that the UK did in fact vote for other parties than just the one that will fuck us over.

This may look like a very Conservative country when you look at the map of the UK, but if you look at the constituency map, it suddenly looks less Conservative, doesn’t it?

So, in fact, we didn’t all vote to fuck up our lives. Only 37% of people did. And you know what, those are the rich that will only get richer with a Conservative government.

We have a two party voting system in a country that can have about 50 parties running for seats, and that system, doesn’t work. First Past The Post does not work for what we have. And never will. But it won’t ever change, because the party in power won’t change the way they got into power.

So no, the UK public are not to blame, not all of us. The 11 million that voted, out of the 46 million that could.

the tories gloating about this like its all a big theoretical game that you win by siding with the right team make me physically sick. the real losers today are not labour or the lib dems or even the individual politicians who’ve taken a knock to their careers.

the losers are ordinary vulnerable people whose lives will be damaged or completely destroyed by this. the losers are the people whose benefits are frozen while living costs rise plunging them further into poverty, the children who will continue relying on food banks and the many more who will now join them, the mentally ill people facing life-endangeringly long waits for treatment because of nhs cuts - I could go on. the losers are poor people and disabled people and immigrants and young people and anyone who isn’t in the small portion of society the tories actually care about.

the election was not a game. none of this is abstract. it’s a sign of real privilege to be able to treat it as such, and gloating because somebody backed the wrong side is exactly the kind of callousness I’ve come to expect from the right.

Lost Immigrants & 1st generation kids

Immigrants and 1st generation kids who “oppose” immigration are a confused lot. It’s almost like they don’t know who they are and where they fit in the immigration discussion. Have they forgotten that they are immigrants and the children of immigrants? Who exactly do they think they are maligning when they adopt anti-immigration rhetoric? Do they look in the mirror?

They don’t realize that the people who have a disdain for immigrants that they are pandering to and brown nosing don’t like them as well. That disdain applies to them, and no amount of sucking up will fix that. They think they are special, but when someone who hates all immigrants sees them, they aren’t excluded from that hate. You’re still an outsider to them, no matter how much you ingratiate yourself to their ideology. The hateful and xenophobic rhetoric immigrant haters spew is inclusive of them.

They should accept this reality and stop pandering to those who hate them and people like them with every fiber of their being. What’s the point of adopting rhetoric that is hostile towards people like you? 

While they’re at it, they should also go ahead and accept themselves. I’ve noticed that many of the immigrants and 1st generation kids who adopt this rhetoric usually distance themselves from their heritage and their people. That’s always a mistake. 

Part of accepting yourself is accepting your name, culture, heritage and people. Abandoning this, or throwing it by the wayside because you are not in the old country will only be a detriment to you. It will be you who will be the ultimate loser. You are the one who will be the architect of your own erasure. You are literally writing yourself out, and for what?

Should people like this have children, it will be their children who will have no connection to their own people and heritage. They will look at their kith and kin like strangers. Only a lost person thinks this is ideal. If you think this is a good thing, then you my friend are lost.

Embrace who you are. Who else will?
