Arbonne Rescue

Lately I’ve been challenging myself to drink eight cups of water a day. A slice of lemon adds enough flavor to keep my interest almost as successfully as a can of Diet Coke does and I have to admit that it’s been doing more for my energy than a mid-afternoon dose of caffeine. I’ll take hydrated and energized over jittery any day.  My biggest motivator for this entire operation is an effort to take better care of my skin. I’m aiming for adjectives like ‘glowing’ and ‘dewy’ and trying to leave behind insecure thoughts of ‘broken out’ and ‘dry,’ especially as the winter winds roll in all too early.

When I came to Stefanie with details of my recent skin woes and my hydration-focused plan of attack, she suggested I try the Arbonne RE9 Advanced line. It boasts youthful and hydrating results and promises anti-aging miracles. Eager to have the full experience, I began using the Smoothing Facial Cleanser, Regenerating Toner, and Extra Moisture Restorative Day Crème.

My usual water-based drugstore skincare products quickly took a backseat and I dove headfirst into a week of strictly using only these three Arbonne products. Skincare salesgirl rhetoric aside, I noticed an immediate difference in quality during my first day using this line. The iridescent Smoothing Facial Cleanser glides on and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and dewy. You know that tight feeling you sometimes have post-cleanse and pre-moisturizing? For me, it makes washing my face a chore, and this is the first cleanser I’ve used that hydrates my skin more than it dries it out.

Step two is the Regenerating Toner, essential for taking care of any leftover oils or dead skin cells that cleansing brought off the surface of your skin. This toner is the in-between man. It takes care of any leftovers you’d find due to cleansing and preps your skin to accept all the benefits that come from moisturizing. It’s the step I didn’t know that I couldn’t live without.

Lastly, I’ve been using the  Extra Moisture Restorative Day Crème (AKA the cherry on top). Deeply moisturizing and a must-have for glowing skin goals, the anti-aging properties in this cream protect youthful skin. This means that it works for my mom and for me. So the next time she steals my beauty products, I can’t even be mad.
