Hi, just like you I need lots of motivation to help me study. I will be posting everything that inspires to study hard! I am very dedicated to this blog and hope you enjoy it. I will also be posting studying tricks/tips/images of my own and others among multiple articles to help you become a better student. You don't need to be a premed to follow, you will benefit if you are looking to improve yourself. Just keep in mind I may post/reblog surgical procedures (as I love surgery) (^_^) Note: If any of the images in my blog belong to you, message me and I will credit you. I always credit the source from which I found the image.
first week of lab done!!!!!! actually had a lot of fun haha anyways I saw a really cute cat on my way to the store today it’s head was so tiny it was like the size of my fist I had the urge to gently place its head within my mouth
The internal debate - go back to school? Take the CPA exam? Pursue further education? I just feel like I won’t be satisfied in a career that isn’t challenging and I want to set myself for as many opportunities as possible. The bonus: having some letters after my name in my email signature!
Yesterday I went to support my friend during her final exams. She made it!
I was actually kind of jealous of her because I didn’t finish my degree but that’s something I have to battle in myself. I am very proud of my friend and so happy that she succeeded 😊
today started off weird because for some reason my glasses were in my bed and i couldn’t find them this morning and ended up spending 20 minutes looking (i can’t see anything more than an inch from my face) until i finally found them and was able to go to class on time. we spent some time in the library getting familiar with databases and research guides. i then spent the rest of my day studying history, ethics, and math. i ended up stopping around 5:20, which made almost 9 hours of studying (i took a break around 2:30 to do a half mile on my treadmill). i still have a fair amount of math to do this week, so tomorrow is gonna be mostly math and then studying for my history final on friday… enter tired “yay” here.
my most recent read has left me in a cloud of thoughts. I won’t spoil the plot but I would highly suggest it as read. I made the decision to kind of go rogue this month and I didn’t read either books for my book clubs, I plan on popping in and listening but I realized I needed a break from any structured reading. I picked this gem up in Montreal and it didn’t leave my hands since.
to all my researchers, students and people in general who love learning: if you don't know this already, i'm about to give you a game changer
connectedpapers
the basic rundown is: you use the search bar to enter a topic, scientific paper name or DOI. the website then offers you a list of papers on the topic, and you choose the one you're looking for/most relevant one. from here, it makes a tree diagram of related papers that are clustered based on topic relatability and colour-coded by time they were produced!
for example: here i search "human B12"
i go ahead and choose the first paper, meaning my graph will be based around it and start from the topics of "b12 levels" and "fraility syndrome"
here is the graph output! you can scroll through all the papers included on the left, and clicking on each one shows you it's position on the chart + will pull up details on the paper on the right hand column (title, authors, citations, abstract/summary and links where the paper can be found)
you get a few free graphs a month before you have to sign up, and i think the free version gives you up to 5 a month. there are paid versions but it really depends how often you need to use this kinda thing.
Busy week - writing exams, grading (lots and lots of) papers, joining countless meetings, all while planning a whole event. My internship project is currently on the backburner because everything else is more urgent, but I’m really looking forward to the end of next week when I finally finish all my work and start summer break! Then I can focus all my attention on art, my 10 billion random ideas, and the Islamic studies classes I signed up for 💗
~ first exam of the last semester cracked down. it kinda went good. i'm preparing to do better in the next one due on 26th. here's a glimpse of the korean restaurant king's bakery, i went to. the ambience was calm and aesthetic. had a bowl of spicy rameyon with chicken and egg. it was filling.
