back on my qpr rottenfruit grind but a hc i have for them is that they're both really. really big on touch. like they're not crazily clingy as some people think they'd be once they realize how deep their dynamic is, but they're the type to always want some grounding presence in their lives, yk?
aj's a little more touch-starved than ghostie is, so she's usually the one to seek out touch. even if it's something as simple as brushing her knuckles against ghostie's, or bumping her thigh against the other, she just needs to have the knowledge that ghostie is there and ghostie is here. she's not going to leave her, not again.
for ghostie it's more complicated because yeah. she loves hugging aj, and she loves holding hands with aj, and she loves cuddling with aj, but she still feels some sort of guilt for leaving aj in the first place. so whenever she reciprocates the touch that aj seeks out, she always has this fear that she's doing it out of pity instead of doing it. because she just wants to.
she does manage to get over this fear/guilt eventually, because she realizes that she's doing it because she does just want to hug and hold aj (and sometimes be hugged and held too), and not because a part of her feels guilt over what had happened in the past. it's a thing that they both work towards fixing, even if their slightly emotionally unavailable asses struggle with it.
on a lighter note, i do think one of rottenfruit's favorite things to do with each other is hold hands but with their pinkies interlocked. it's a thing that carried over from their childhood, since they had to hide their relationship from ghostie's family, so the pinkie thing was the closest thing they could do in terms of hand-holding.
genuinely they'll sometimes just go an entire day with their hands held like that, and one of them (mostly aj) will drag the other all over the academy until they both have to go their separate ways 😭
