Even as she spoke, her voice was tinged with doubt and her eyes went to the book the woman held in her hands.

He glanced back over his shoulder, but saw no one following. If anyone did come out of the darkness, he would be able to take care of it, but he didn't like the idea that she'd been attacked.

"Tell me what happened."

Mina's nerves were finally calm and the last thing she wanted to do was recount the bizarre events that had just taken place. "Just some crazy woman, probably high on something, attacked me." Her eyebrows knitted together as the images became clearer. "But there was an old man. He had a doctor's bag. I think he saved me."

She shrugged and shook her head. "It's over and of no importance."

Deciding it best to disengage lest she made a complete fool of herself, Mina turned to the barista and ordered a hot tea."
