I grew up with a grandma who quilted, but she’d never been interested in passing along the hobby, so when she finally kicked it I was the grandkid who got all her materials, ‘cause I was the only one who knew how to use a sewing machine. Then, in 2015, a friend had a baby and I figured I’d make her a quilt, ‘cause how hard could it be?

Luckily I am the stubbornest human alive, ‘cause I never woulda finished otherwise. I didn’t know what I was doing, didn’t know the terms to look up how to do anything, I musta reinvented the wheel like eight times and it took ten months, BUT I DID IT.

Figured I’d suffered enough and would never do it again and now I’m on quilt #9 smdh

May be it’s because I’m old, but I am becoming increasingly inconfortable with seeing people on twitter @ -ing Neil Gaiman to require him to specifically say that Aziraphale and Crowley are gay men, then when he doesn’t, saying again and again that yes it is a love story and you could see it that way but you could also see it as them being trans, asexual, nonbinary, and that it is a love story but the specifics are up to us, the same people use Terry Pratchett death as a blunt object to hit him with. Is that how fandom engage with content creators now? I’m not saying we shouldn’t talk about this things at all, but why being so vicious about it?

Maybe I’m just a fandom crone, but I desperately miss the days when most people kept their fandom opinions/headcanons/wank intra-fandom as opposed to entitledly making it the creator’s problem. It is horrifying that history will always repeat itself. Sudanese protestors will keep dying until the country has no more protests. Just like Egypt. Men, women and children are being shot at in the open and the world is silent. Sudan is such a beautiful place with amazing history but the world doesn’t care. One by one African nations are dying to fulfill some political agenda and the world is pretending to be ignorant. How can people just get raped and murdered out in the streets but it isn’t even deemed as important as a building in France. Please read about this and try to help. As of now Sudan has no hope.

i don’t know if you guys saw the holocaust denying video that al jazeera recently took down (due to public pressure) but it’s so deeply incomprehensibly disturbing that arguably the most influential news outlet in the world published that and i’m kind of nauseated after watching it

main points include:

that israel was founded on nazi ideology

that an agreement was signed between the nazis and the jews in order to get as many jews into palestine as possible

that the jews used german money to found israel

that jews have manipulated the facts of the holocaust to fit our agenda of ethnic cleansing and racial superiority

that palestinians have little reason to decry the holocaust as a tragedy

this reached millions and millions of people people. i hate the world i’m forced to live in as a jewish person and every day my last shreds of hope are being picked away at, i’m so angry

what’s especially unnerving is that while holocaust deniers (both far-left and far-right) are absolutely delighted to hone in on this video and talk about how (((the media))) is suppressing the truth and/or speech of the opressed, the only other people talking about this are jews. it’s not like i haven’t seen an article in every newspaper about how al jazeera is under fire for this, but everyone else is just…glancing at it and moving on?

As a devout Muslim and Pro-Palestine person, I'm ashamed of Al-Jazeera or any other pro-islamic media sources who are denying this. The Holocaust is real, and although I have very little knowledge about this, the fact remains that millions of jews, millions of innocent human beings died. Nobody has the right to just dismiss human death and suffering, religion or otherwise. You don't just get to look at a religion/country/race/caste etc. related massacre or any tragedy to be honest and be nonchalant or dismiss it as false or some kind of elaborate scheme.

That's neanderthalism and savagery.
