> THE BLOODY BEETROOTS PREMIERE VIDEO FOR “OUT OF SIGHT” FEATURING PAUL MCCARTNEY & YOUTH ON MTV!
Video still from “Out of Sight” > "Out of Sight" (which also features Youth) finds the old Beatle appealing to the stadium EDM crowd in a heavily thumping, airily melodic track on which he wails in his finest Little Richard mode.” – Rolling Stone.com “McCartney does an admirable job shouting above Rifo’s synthy bombast, no mean feat.” – Vulture.com (included in weekly music roundup) "Out of Sight" works because Rifo doesn't make the brand of pure, upbeat progressive house that's most familiar to dance music festival mainstage audiences, but rather an intriguing blend of punk, rock and dance.- Huffington Post “[Out of Sight] counters between soulful, blues crooning from the veteran vocalist over plaintive piano chords before exploding into the type of euphoric build and release you can imagine a stadium full of kids losing their collective brains over.” – MTV Buzzworthy “It’s not your parents’ McCartney tune, but it’s bound to introduce a whole club-goin’, rave-lovin’ generation to the joys of Macca.” –Consequence of Sound King of punk rock dance music Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, better known as The Bloody Beetroots, has debuted the video for his latest single, “Out of Sight” featuring Paul McCartney & Youth on MTV – PRESS HERE to watch! The video, directed by Charlie Lightening (P!nk, Arcade Fire, Bjork) who also directed the video for “Church of Noise,” sees The Bloody Beetroots in his natural habitat, rocking out and orchestrating a haunting choir - with an appearance by the legendary Paul McCartney himself! The Bloody Beetroots will release the forthcoming album HIDE on September 17th (Ultra Music). PRESS HERE to purchase “Out of Sight” on iTunes. Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo a.k.a. The Bloody Beetroots has always been an anomaly amidst the cocooned trends and coddled pedigrees of dance music. After fits and starts in Italian garage-punk bands, Rifo launched The Bloody Beetroots in 2007 and over the next few years, he would win the support of electro house heavyweights Etienne de Crecy and Alex Gopher in Europe and Dim Mak’s Steve Aoki stateside. On Rifo’s watch, anything’s not only possible – but from the sheer vastness of sounds and media that have materialized – probable as well. From the start Mr. Bloody Beetroot has been capable of seamlessly crossing genres, diving into everything from new wave to the primal screams of hardcore punk. His most recent collaborations include studio sessions with Youth and remixing Killing Joke, an opportunity very few are entitled to. After working closely with Dennis Lyxen from The Refused on the single smash club record “Church of Noise,” Rifo developed an online community and cult following that embraces the freedom of art, speech and chaos – www.therealchurchofnoise.com. From one-man studio production to full live band shows with Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 and DJ show touring as The Bloody Beetroots DJ set, Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo is a pioneer, reinventing the landscape of electronic music. ON COLUMBIA RECORDS IN MARCH 2013
EUROPEAN TOUR WILL KICK OFF MAY 7
(Columbia Records; New York, NY; December, 2012) – Depeche Mode are set to release their 13th studio album in March 2013 on Columbia Records. “I am very happy with how the album turned out,” comments DM’s Martin Gore. “The music has a similar vibe to Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we’ve done.” The band has announced that the new album will contain brand new tracks written by Gore and Dave Gahan. Gahan reveals, “The album has a very organic and direct feel to it. It's not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe. During the recording process we really tried to get the elements of performing and the live show into the album more.” The band gave fans a glimpse into the making of the new album in October when they released the following video clip featuring new music (http://bit.ly/XO8rPH). Additional album details will be disclosed in the coming weeks.
Pioneers of the post-punk era, Depeche Mode have gone on to become one of modern music’s most influential groups with global sales in excess of 100 million. TOYA DELAZY DROPS SINGLE NUMBER 4
TOYA DELAZY RELEASES SINGLE #4 ‘HEART’; DUE DROP DELUXE OUT ON 19 NOVEMBER; INCLUDES A BONUS DVD WITH ALL 4 VIDEOS, 2 NEW TRACKS, 3 REMIXES & THE BEHIND THE SCENES DOCCIE ‘IT TAKES A LOT TO MAKE A CLASSIC’(Johannesburg – 23 October, 2012) Toya Delazy continues to blaze a trail toward the top of the SA pop landscape with the release of ‘Heart’, the 4th single from her acclaimed debut album ‘Due Drop’. Delazy’s debut album, originally released in April of this year, has been acclaimed by both critics and fans alike and is set to be re-packaged as a Deluxe Version for release on 19 November 2012. Due Drop Deluxe will be a two disc set that will include a bonus DVD with all 4 single videos (“Pump It On,” “Love Is In The Air,””Are You Gonna Stay?” & “Heart”) plus the behind-the-scenes documentary film shot earlier this year entitles ‘It Takes A Lot To Make A Classic.’ The original audio disc has been expanded to include two new singles: ‘Losing My Love’ a track completed with producer Justin Denobrega (most well know as DJ Hi-Tek with Die Antwoord) and ‘Viva Party’ recorded & produced by Pascal & Pearce. The electronic production duo also contributed a banging six minute remix of new single ‘Heart’. New artist ClassyMenace remixes ‘Pump It On’ & ‘Love Is In The Air’ to complete the package! New single ‘Heart’ is another masterful blend of pop, soul and electro that looks set to be as successful as the first three singles that held in the SA Mediaguide Top 100 Airplay Chart for months. “Pump It On” spent 36 weeks on the chart, “Love Is In The Air” peaked at #4 and ‘Are You Gonna Stay?’ continues to impact radio charts across SA. The ‘Heart’ single was released simultaneously with the video, an amazing piece of stop motion animation conceived and directed by Jeana Theron of Velocity Films, and was aided by a non-profit organisation called Great Heart (http://www.greatheart.co.za/), who helped make the fish and some of the props used in the undersea sequences. “This music video inspired me to push myself and be more creative. It really made me want to continue to try new things and keep improving on my videos,” said Toya. The actual shoot took three days to complete, with two days dedicated to filming Toya singing in the giant sea and a separate day to do her hair shots. There was also a second unit, directed by Justine Puren, that focused solely on the close ups of the shark and fish. “We took roughly an hour to shoot 12 frames. This means it took about an hour to shoot one second of the four minute music video,” said Theron. “In spite of the pain I think we are all very proud of the result.” Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx9gS8DQmEs&feature=youtu.be or www.toyadelazy.com to watch it now. ‘Due Drop’ has been hailed by South African media and critics: “Sassy and classy enough to compete globally…” Rolling Stone “The album is filled with insane rhymes, immaculately produced beats and really is the most current sounding album to come out of South Africa in a long time - we cant even fault it.” People Magazine “Toya is a burst of fresh air… We haven’t heard such an original album for a while. We love it.” Heat Magazine END
CAMA GWINI'S BRAND NEW SINGLE
OFFICIAL PSEUDO VIDEO OF BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘Jikel’emaweni’ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d0BalJWdTQ&feature=youtu.be OFFICIAL FACEBOOK FAN PAGE - http://www.facebook.com/CamaGwiniOfficial Native Rhythms Productions and Sony Music are please to announce the completion of an exciting brand new single titled ‘Jikel’emaweni’ - ahead of Cama Gwini’s new studio album titled ‘Re-birth’ (Nov 2012) - produced by new kid on the block, Jonny Joburg. This time, the enigmatic songstress has chosen to separate her name, Camagwini, to Cama Gwini, drawing a clear separation from the past, and a notable move into a new future. The point of departure begins with Cama Gwini’s original compositions and new music recorded for this highly anticipated release, which shows her growth both in a musical sense and in terms of her spiritual being – revealing a matured artist in the truest sense. For Native Rhythms Productions, this marks a return of the prodigal daughter, who’s been there, and back. After years of self-imposed musical exile - and an outcry from fans who wish to remain inseparable from her natural magnetism - seeking more music - sees the enchanting Cama Gwini responding to a musical calling with absolute clarity - in her intent and determination - to claim her space with complete differentiation. Cama Gwini broke onto the music scene in the late 2000’s and with much fan fair. Just like her bold sense of style, so too her music shows brashness of an artist who truly believes that music is a liberating factor in the realms of soul, body, and mind. With this album, and under the stewardship of Jonny Joburg, Cama Gwini shows a distinct and deliberate move towards a sound that is more global, pop rock, yet soulful and smooth. Her African pedigree is still evident in her vocal improvisation, and sparse chants, that always seem to sneak in a manner that will inspire graceful dancing, which is both courageous and liberating at the same time. With this album, one can truly say Cama Gwini has delved into harnessing her talent to produce her best work to date. Songs like ‘Jikel’emaweni’, ‘Nguwe Lo’, ‘We Ngomso Lam’, ’Egoli’ and ‘Uphind’ubuye’ will carry this album for years to come. She delivers the songs with much ease, taking charge - and straddles between harmonies, improvisations and raves. Well written, well spoken, and supported by excellent music compositions, Cama Gwini has successfully created silence in her music – a testimony to a saying ‘harmony to the spheres’ because here music is pleasant to listen to. Cama Gwini’s music is brave, trendsetting, and courageously boundless. She keeps breaking new ground and will do so infinitely given her nature as a creative being. “Re-birth means so many things to me” says Cama Gwini - “It is a positive change and represents enlightenment - it is the power within all of us, in order for that power to reveal itself we need to exercise it. I call the exercising process the 'Rebirthing process'”.
“I went through a Re-birthing process which is the change in mind, heart, thought, and in words. In order for me to see myself as the Universe sees me - completely, wholly, and perfectly - I needed to discipline myself and enter the Universe. That was the Re-birthing process.”
“I've discovered the beauty in music and the beauty in my voice through the Re-birthing process and I am offering this on my new album” says Cama Gwini. “This album is called Re-birth because everything is new and different from my previous albums. The sound and image have changed to embrace the Re-birth of Cama Gwini. This will be noticeable on the new album sleeve which is jaxtaposing the rural and the futuristic in one and representing the move from a traditional Xhosa sound to an Afro-Futuristic sound I prefer to call Afro-Rock. “My first single ‘Jikel’emaweni’ gives you exactly what I mean by Afro–Rock. Enjoy!” - Cama Gwini For Media Enquiries Please contact Sony Music Entertainment on Tel: 011 274 5000E-mail: [email protected] or E-mail: [email protected] Management contact Native Rhythms Productions on Tel. +27 11 447 5199 Email: [email protected] - Website: www:nativerhythms.co.za
