Steddie but Steve simply does not stereotype people. It's literally a built in feature, he takes everyone at face value and doesn't assume based on looks or backgrounds.
This leads to problems when he developes feelings for Eddie. Because Steve automatically just assumes Eddie is straight and that he has no shot ever. (Robin is trying to insist and make Steve see that Eddie is literally the gayest man to ever grace Hawkins. "Steve come on! He's got long hair and walks around wearing crops, you cannot be serious!" "I am Robin! He's a metalhead, of course he wears stuff like that!" Robin rolls her eyes. "Okay, but what about the hanky, Dingus! That's a clear indicator-" "Robbie, it isn't! I read up on things, that's another thing that's also a part of metal culture too! It might not be flagging! I don't want to embarass myself!" Steve pauses, rubbing the back of his neck. "I also uh.. don't want to ponder his bandanna at work." Robin gags and throws an empty tape cover at him.)
Joyce is late to get home one day and is panicking because it’s well past dinner time and she always cooks for her kids.
She quickly enters the house, calling out to Jonathan and Will apologizing for being so late and promising to cook right away. She stops in her tracks when she walks in the kitchen and an 10 year old Will is sitting at the table eating some dinner and a 14 year old Jonathan is cleaning off the stove.
“It’s ok mom, I already cooked.”
Maybe a parent would be happy if the circumstances were different, but Joyce feels so incredibly guilty that her boy had to cook for them in her place. Following that day, Jonathan starts to purposely cook before she gets home normally and before she wakes up in the morning.
Joyce continues to feel terrible about it, but seeing Jonathan light up every time she complimented his cooking or thanking him for cooking slowly ate the guilt away.
has this heavy metal band turned YOUR kid a gay satanist? more at 7
He swears his next fight won't be homoerotic. Swears.
Eddie who knows Robin is a lesbian and thinks that Steve is oblivious.
So Eddie pulls Steve aside to explain to him that Robin just isn’t into him, but he does it so poorly and tells Steve that his crush isn’t into him and Steve is just heartbroken
Because he heard Eddie say he’s not into him.
eddie consistently making grand speeches to his club and band members about how much he despises jocks and he’d be caught dead before befriending any single one of them
hard cut to eddie messily making out with steve sitting pretty in his lap, and eddie’s desperately grinding and humping against steve like a dog in heat and panting between kisses “oh god i need you, so fucking beautiful so perfect, need you so bad, steve, please please”

BAILEY’S 3K CELEBRATION —🫶🏼 for @djotime
"The thing I loved about the character and loved that they gave me is that he kind of has a change of heart and realizes the error in his ways. And I think right now there's kind of a lot of opportunity for that, for people to sort of choose to do the right thing. The show is about a group of outcasts that come together and you can be from all walks of life. But I just love that the character kind of makes that choice. For that reason, it was a just real pleasure to play for 10 years." — Joe Keery

Eddie invites Steve over to meet his family, which consists only of Wayne and one feral cat by the name of Stripes.
When Steve arrives, he sits down for dinner. Wayne didn’t make anything fancy, just some canned food he dumped out and heated up on the stove.
“Where’s Eddie?” Steve asks.
“Out looking for his pet. He’ll be along in a minute. Dig in.”
When Eddie returns a few minutes later, he sets down a furry striped animal, which waddles over to the cat bowl on the floor and starts to eat.
Steve watches the animal warily. “Uhh, Eddie? I thought you said Stripes was a cat?”
“He is?” Eddie looks at Steve like he’s lost his mind.
Steve looks back at the animal. It’s very clearly not a cat. Then he looks to Wayne.
Wayne says nothing. He just keeps eating his ravioli.
“Eddie, I think you need to get your eyes checked,” Steve says finally, “because that’s a raccoon.”
he’s so bitchy i love him
Steve is the only person Max doesn’t completely pull away from .
She knows he has his own complicated feelings about Billy that he doesn't talk about. For the longest time after the fight, he wouldn't even say Billy's name so she knows he won't ask.
And he doesn't.
They talk. They never really say much of anything and most of their interacts are tied into employee/customer roles across the counter at Family Videos, but they talk.
She rents a movie. Steve pretends to charge her for it. It's never much more than that but... it's something.
It's the only interaction that she has that isn't filled with this unspoken pity. There isn't this silent expectation that she'll snap back into normal. There's no held-breath anticipation that she'll talk about it, about him.
She doesn't know how to do that so - so she can't talk to Lucas, or Nancy, or write back to El. She can't even talk to her mom.
It's just Steve and his dumb attempt to get her to rent the muppet movie again because -
"I’m telling you, Mayfield. Popcorn, extra butter, Kermit, and bam. That's a good Friday night."
"That's the saddest thing I've ever heard."
"Everybody has a good time with Kermit. Ask Robin."
"Shut up," Robin calls from the back.
Steve smiles at the obvious inside joke, "She loves Kermit."
"Shut up!"
And for once - for the first time in a while - Max smiled too.
Do you think Steve ever watches Eddie be so sweet with the kids or take a bug outside instead of killing it because “what if it had a family Steve??” and gets so filled with anger at everything the town says about him. Like yeah Hawkins here’s your big scary murderer he’s definitely the one to be concerned about here
Steve: You look like you'd be really good at yo-yoing
Eddie:
Eddie: [offended, for some reason]
Eddie: he doesn't know how cool I really am
When Eddie was a kid with too much energy, Wayne would send him outside to run around the house until he tired himself out.
Now when Eddie is anxious about something, he'll send himself outside.
He doesn't even think about it anymore, not until he rounds the house and sees Steve staring at him with a raised eyebrow.
Eddie slows to a stop, "Hey."
"Since when do you exercise?"
"I...don't," Eddie says. "This isn't exercise. It's...I don't know. Stress relief?"
"Okay...I call it exercising, but whatever. What are you stressed about?"
"About asking you out on a date...oh."
"Seems like you did it easily enough," Steve replies, fighting a grin. "I don't think you need to sweat about it, Munson."
Steve opens the door and goes inside. Eddie is still kinda of stunned that he just - said it. He almost forgets that -
"Wait," He calls after Steve. "You didn't answer!"
"Obviously yes!"
I’m soooooo embarrassed. My lord told me “good night,” but I thought he was calling me a good knight, and, well, you could hear it clink against my codpiece.
