some of you aren't 190623 taehyung and that's okay
intellectually its fine for cishet people to refer to their cishet s/o as their ‘partner’ bc it helps normalize the phrase and allows gay/bi people leeway in terms of not outing themselves while also not lying but like. emotionally the toll of someone saying ‘partner’ and meaning her cishet bearded microbrew hipster boyfriend whos into pegging is like. severe
we love supportive brothers 🤗
Cat fight!

we need a proper classification system for gay/trans content in media so we can stop confusing each other
level 0: literally nothing here
level 1: two white men interact and have 474859 fanfics on ao3
level 2: outright queerbaiting
level 3: well written relationships that can still be passed off as friendships, narratives and characterization that really speak to being gay or trans, stuff with That Vibe
level 4: the elusive canon LGBTs. explicit relationships, characters saying “i am X”, etc.
It’s like millennials do not understand that middle east has been at war for 1000′s of years. That we intervened on behalf of Kuwait. That without “bombing” people that want to kill and oppress others, millions will be murdered and tortured.
“at war for 1000′s of years”
you clearly know nothing about Afghanistan nor the middle east
here’s Afghanistan in the 1950′s, 60′s, & 70′s
if you really want to know what caused all the instability & growth of extremist groups I suggest you take a look at the US foreign policy towards Afghanistan during the 80′s
It’s interesting to note that when the communist government came to power in Afghanistan in the late 70′s, one of the first things they did was declare equality of the sexes, made education for girls mandatory, & banned child marriages. The conservative tribal leaders who the US armed & funded (& who later became the Taliban) declared this to be a “war on Islam” & fought against the central government.
The US had no problem back then with encouraging the growth of Islamic conservatism to counter socialism/communism. You created your biggest enemy & you have no one to blame but yourselves.
BLESS THIS POST
its crazy to me how the US talks about war in the middle east as if its this ancient problem inherent to the area instead of a recent problem created by western countries to further their own interests.

the CIA took out the democratically elected leader of Iran in the 1970s over oil and that set off an entire chain of events leading to ISIS, here’s more about multiple other countries we’ve fucked over
The United States: Fucking monsters.
America, 1953: The Iranian government is terrible, we should steal their oil liberate them.
America, 2019: The Iranian government is terrible, we should steal their oil liberate them.
the CIA, literally overthrew Iranian democracy in 1953. to install an unelected American-chosen ruler. a practice which continued into this century.
This is american foreign policy in a nutshell. The U.S. destroys global democracy. Has done for a long time.
The thing that’s funny and relatable about Luigi isn’t that he’s a coward, it’s that he’s a coward with no sense of scale. He reacts to literally everything with exactly the same level of oh-gee-I-dunno apprehension, whether it’s hearing a noise in a dark house at night, or coming face to face with a world-devouring horror. This is more or less the root of his self-esteem problems; he’s the universe’s second-greatest warrior and doesn’t realise it because as far as he’s concerned, being scared of a spider in the bathroom and being scared of Cthulhu are the same thing – he just totally lacks the necessary context to appreciate that managing to grit your teeth and deal with the second one is any sort of achievement. It’s all spiders in the bathroom to him. He’s equally terrified of everything, and that makes him invincible.
For the folks in the notes taking issue with me describing Luigi as the universe’s second-greatest warrior, need i remind you:
This is the boy who was forced to show his abs when he was a minor and he clearly asked against it. Boy spent hours in the gym cause the killing part of their debut song was his body. This is the boy who spent years racking up those muscles and keeping up the “masculine” aura Bighit asked of him.
This is the boy who didn’t let fans put flower crowns on his head at one point in his life. This boy right here, used to wear Snapbacks and carry himself in totally opposite ways of what his personality and essence have been from day one just cause that’s what was expected of him.
This is the boy who is so gentle and so delicate in his essence and in the way he carries himself, that it really baffles me how he had to put up with people and their gender roles and how “masculinity” looks like. The fact that he had to act like a strong “man” for all these years to fit society’s expectations of what a man should be like, talk like, look like. Ugh. He has spent years trying to be a bullshit, overrated conception of masculinity that he so clearly is above.
Jimin by nature, is soft kind caring and delicate; ethereal if I may, and that has nothing to do with masculine or feminine so keep your uneducated ass out of my boy’s life. The fact that he had to cover his oversized sweaters and sweater paws with chains, abs and snapbacks is the very reason that I’m literally crying because of what he has said here. It was a long hard way to self acceptance but hasn’t Jimin always been about taking up challenges?
My love, now that you are proud enough to just be yourself, you should know that you are what you are and what you are will always be way more than enough. You don’t need to be what they want you to be for people to love you. Gender roles ain’t shit when you’ve got a heart of gold, Park Jimin.
You’re the strongest mf I’ve ever seen and the fact that you can take a man down in every sense that there is;
the man you are Jimin, is someone I’ll always be proud of.
His lil’ smile when he says “I can just be myself”. Catch me sobbing at 4am every night thinking about this.
Gender roles and pushing people into frames, where they don’t feel like themselves is such a toxic behaviour that needs to be abandoned. We live in the 21st century- time to wake up and live for ourselves and make sure no one is excluding us from the happiness we could have. Be yourself, those who mind, don’t matter, and those who matter, don’t mind. 💜
