Punishment is an important part of a D/s relationship.
It cannot be as simple as hitting your sub.
A punishment should fit the crime, it should never be carried out in anger…and its purpose is to prevent reoccurrence not to seek revenge.
Like a story it should have a beginning…a middle and an end…
Beginning: What they did wrong and what they should do in the future.
Middle: The punishment itself
End: Once it’s done it’s done, aftercare is essential.
Take time to consider what the sub did wrong, explain to them why it was unacceptable and what they should do in the future.
Devise a suitable punishment of appropriate severity.
Know and understand your sub.
Hitting a masochist is never going to be as effective as restricting a chocoholic to a diet of bread and water.
An early bedtime with lights out and no electronic devices may sound like a treat to some… and torture to others.
NEVER withhold affection as a punishment. You can show disappointment but you should always be a source of comfort for you submissive, you should be someone safe for them.
It may not be pleasant and it’s never fun to see your sub upset…but this is an important part of your responsibilities as a Dom.
Carry it out… Then let it go.
And for gods sake give them a cuddle!
