You know what. I’m about to rant.
Somehow I feel that IU & Taeyang really felt something for each other. I mean its nothing new for IU. Here’s a little background.
IU had been a huge fan of BIGBANG ever since her school days, when she’s like 13 or 14 (probably 2006 or so). She particularly liked Taeyang because of his vocals and cute eyesmile that attracted her to him. She finally had the opportunity to meet him after her debut as a singer, and while broadcasting for Heroes in 2010. This was when everyone started to take notice of how HUGE of a fangirl she is.
Since then, for every interview that asked her about her ideal type and favourite celebrity, she has been naming Taeyang. She even had the opportunity to appear as a guest singer for his solo concert in 2010. Over the years, BIGBANG appeared on Inkigayo as performers while IU was the host. So imagine the amount of times they had passed by each other and seen each other around. As IU became more and more successful, BIGBANG also did so well that both were busy and had little opportunity to bump into each other. They’ve been having tours, appearances around the globe and stuff.
IU matured over the years and toned down on fangirling not just due to her schedule, but also she knew how annoying it could have possibly been for Taeyang to keep hearing about her being associated with him. So we didn’t hear about them for a couple of years. Then came 2014. IU & Taeyang met again at Melon Awards and they had to sit together, won awards right after each other. IU was obviously still flustered about it and boy, was she so nervous we can sense it. But it was 2014. IU has grown into a lady, a FREAKING GORGEOUS lady, seated next to the man she had eyed for years.
I’m so damn sure that Taeyang, in that moment, must have felt attracted to her. Any man would have felt attracted to a lady so beautiful and successful. Though he may already be in a relationship at that point of time, he is sitting next to a person who had confessed over and over again about her feelings for him. I mean, he would have thought, “Oh my god. She’s so pretty. And she likes me. I wonder if she still does....” Even when WE receive confessions, we would often wonder if that person still likes us and we’d be pretty obsessed about it though we may never admit to it, right? Because it’s such a great feeling to know that someone likes you for whoever you are and whatever you do.
Taeyang must have thought about IU again. Of course he wouldn’t say anything. This kind of things happen. Blast from the past, ALWAYS happens. And then came MAMA 2014, he just had to sit close to her again. Win awards with her again. See her before his eyes again. All these, trust me, triggers a sense of attraction and guilt (I believe so, since he was already with MHR at this point of time). Then he worked with her again for Infinity Challenge this year. They had to face each other A LOT. And with so many male artists expressing their interest for IU, I’m so darn sure that Taeyang must have thought, “She wouldn’t. She liked me first.” Ego. Man’s ego. He’s pretty jealous. But he knows he don’t quite have the right to, because they never dated and he’s already seeing someone else.
I’m sure he too, is in love with MHR. She’s undeniably beautiful. A real hottie. Any man’s dream. But you see, she wasn’t in the scene like 5 years ago when Taeyang didn’t have all the swag he has now (I mean look at how fancy he dresses now and the number of times he fixed his hairstyle lol). IU saw him and liked him for that simplicity and honesty she saw. I’m pretty sure that would have crossed his mind. And to think IU has matured so well, staying true to herself. Deep down, Taeyang must have thought of how truly talented and simple of a lady IU is. And the fact that so many men are attracted to her... Now THAT is something Taeyang would have so badly wanted to prove that he is still IU’s ideal type. Something a man would never want to have to give up on.
Ugh. I feel so much for IU. It’s the way they are when they’re around each other. Or it could be just me, having too much feels for this freaking ship. </3
