Everybody wants a human, flawed, complex, multi-faceted female protagonist that isn't there purely to tease a male audience, until they get one. Then they start putting out (video) analysis like "Charlie was always the problem", or "Was Charlie ever even good?", and shit like that.

No shit, Sherlock. Charlie has flaws, shortcomings, and issues of her own almost as if she was written that way on purpose, ain't it crazy? Almost as if the point of the entire show is that people are fallible, but they can learn from their mistakes and be better, and they don't need a perfect leader or teacher to do that, right? Almost as if the show is trying to tell you that building a functioning community from scratch when they're disenfranchised and disadvantaged is hard? And a leader/teacher has things to learn and perfect because every teacher is still a student and researcher as well, especially when they are trying to do something unprecedented? Wouldn't that be crazy?

I genuinely do not care what canon does ships-wise. I'm fine with anything it gives me as long as it's entertaining. Doesn't even have to be well written, just fun

I don't know if this is coherent, but Charlie and Lucifer have the same character flaw, but different variations of it

They both view sinners as potential before seeing them as people

Lucifer views them as potential that has been squandered - he focuses on what they could've been in the past

Charlie views them as potential to redeem themselves - she focuses on what they could be in the future

Neither sees them as they are in the present, and neither places their humanity before their potential

This isn't to say they don't see them as people at all, nor that they don't/can't care about them, just that they're focusing more on hypotheticals

I think this is especially clear in how Lucifer talks to Vox when he's captured, and how Charlie treats Angel when trying to redeem him

Or maybe I, someone on the aroace spectrum, prefer to engage with romance and sex from the perspective of a character similar to me, as my relationship with romance and sex can't be separated from being aroacespec even as I'm usually favorable to the concepts, because my experiences are not those of someone who isn't aroacespec and using a character who isn't aroacespec is a different experience that does different things. I think people shouldn't forget he's ace when writing, and I do think there should be a discussion on what asexuality and aromanticism mean in fandom and how to treat them respectfully, but the blanket statement that everyone who ships him is erasing his asexuality is in turn erasing my own engaging with my asexuality

Personaly I think Lucifer has memory loss across the board not just names. When Charlie first calls him and he asks "where are you these days?" and Charlie says something like "You know where I am I told you befor." And we get to see his reaction of like oh shit I fucked up.

This personally is highly relatable. I have memory isues and yeah it can fuck with your relationships hard becuase generally we see remembering as a sign of careing. Which like sure it can be but forgetting isn't a choice either.

He also admits he forgot but trys to make that seem like not a big deal because he has his massive ego.

Pro tip LuLu just be honest people, especially Charlie are more understanding than you think.

Then agin he clearly is traumatized by heaven standards which is also such a mood.

Which you know it could be alot of thing. Depression, Adhd, PTSD, ect.
