following on from my oc post, i drew a few one-panels to show jackie interacting with some of the hotel cast! they're a bit hastily finished since im running low on energy these days but i think they get the job done.
some context! i like to imagine jackie would get along well with angel and cherri. they would have a partners in crime dynamic that jackie misses from the few friends (aka accomplices) she had when she was alive. learning to be a better person...is kind of a drag. but after a lifetime of chasing sparkly things in hopes of being happy, having a genuine connection to people at the hotel is what inevitably keeps her there.
of course, she still can't help herself from (cough) helping herself to other people's things, though the habit petered out a bit the longer she stayed at the hotel. in the beginning, she often attempted to pilfer things from alastor and lucifer especially. her first impressions of both were that they were powerful (the radio demon!! and the KING OF HELL!!) and in similar positions of status to those she used to steal from when she was alive, which to her justified them as targets.
alastor isn't particularly bothered by it, not regarding it as any more of a nuisance than sir pentious trying to kill him every day. on the other hand, lucifer is aghast. the sinners just won't stop tormenting him.
i did want to draw a panel with jackie, vaggi and charlie but i ended up running out of steam 😞💔 though i might draw one in the near future when i have a little more time!! i had a lot of fun with these 🥹

i haven't made an oc in a veerrry long time so i got really excited while doing this!! this is basically just a short summary of the introduction i wrote on the ref sheet but this is my hazbin oc Jackie who has committed a LOT of theft and is down in the fiery rings because of that.
since most of the sinner demons share designs with an animal i picked a raccoon for jackie because a) they're thieves and b) they DRESS like thieves too. jackie has the little bandit mask rings around her eyes and i thought it was a really fun detail that raccoon tails are striped like those old school burglar costumes! so i think jackie herself would kind of play into the raccoon/burglar imagery because she knows what she's in hell for and wears it quite unabashedly (so to speak). and she's a 70s girl, so i think she wouldve kept wearing the stuff that was fashionable when she was alive.
her in a red coat pained me greatly because red is unfortunately not one of my favourite colours but it does make up like 90% of the hellaverse colour palette 😭 but as a compromise the coat is more of a disguise for sneaking around and she'll only wear it when she needs to blend into the very red crowd.
i roughly wrote out most of her background but it would be too long to post so i thought i might include a few paragraphs here that give context to her upbringing, as of rn i don't really have any plans to illustrate her backstory for the most part.
also context for the context: Jackie's father was a corrupt auctioneer who pocketed large sums of money and bribes. he spent this money on his family, so they were quite wealthy when Jackie was a kid.
^^ not explicitly included in here but Jackie eventually grew an appetite for beautiful things and expensive jewellery herself. she thought it might make her happier.
i should also note that while Jackie might see herself as more of a Robin Hood type of character, her trying to mostly steal from the rich is not for the purpose of giving to others but only to benefit herself. it's a code that loosely relieves her own moral qualms but doesn't actually mean she acts with morals, which is why she ends up in hell.
also not included but Jackie works as at the sales counter of a high-end boutique when she's in her 20s. she's good at sales! persuasive and easygoing. and she dies when she's 28, in 1979.
to add to this already terrifyingly long post i did do the oc relationships chart as well (template by @vexinghearts)! these might be subject to change later but this is what her interactions will look like for now (she does start off by disliking my fav characters 😞😞 but they all will get along eventually)
im working on some small drawings where she is interacting with some of the hotel crew which i am having a lot of fun with!! and will hopefully share soon once i have some time

i was going through my heel collection and thinking that niffty would be a high heel kind of girl 🤔 sharp heels to stab the ground while she cleans! then i was like you know who is always rocking a platform boot...
also these two are the shorties in the cast so i feel they would gravitate towards some height-boosting shoes 🫣 i think these two only interacted once(?) on screen but i thought it would be so fun to have niffty ask lucifer (resident expert) to help pick out a good heel!
i had this dream where i was shopping around in the supermarket bakery section and they had these super cute snoopy cakes 😭 like there was this one covered in graham cracker crumbs like sand topped with snoopy and woodstock shortbread cookies like they were at the beach uuuuu i want one so bad
