Tumblr protest!
On December 17th this blog will be deactivated. It is is that simple! We feel that Tumblr stance is in violation of freedom of speech and is shaming communities by allowing them to blog since Tumblr was set up and now it is restricting these freedoms it gave to them. By not showing women's nipples is shaming women's bodies. Yes there has to be stricter guidelines on social media but this is simply oppression of groups and is laziness on Tumblr part. We predict that if everyone shuts down there blogs then one of two things will happen. Tumblr will change their rhetoric or they will go bust. Ether way they will lose!
A better, more positive Tumblr
Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).
Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
So what is changing?
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
Why are we doing this?
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
So what’s next?
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.
Jeff D’Onofrio CEO
So… you want Tumblr to be a place to post pics of wedding dresses, chinos, tableware, pets, celebrities, etc.? That’s Pinterest
You want people to post about politics, their thoughts, and shoutouts about their lives? That’s Twitter and Facebook
You want censored photos of women having to cover up, and males who are shirtless but fully-pantsed and flexing? That’s literally half of Instagram.
You want non-nude amateur art? That’s DeviantArt and Etsy.
Tumblr (Yahoo), you’re going to have no market, you… colossal, fucking idiots.
You have just destroyed your ap. Already noticed more posts on other sites. You nèed to rethink this move seriously. Yes you need to protect users who are sensitive to material but a cull is wrong on every level at this stage in your existence. I would like to understand what you view as adult content and where is the line drawn. It appears to me as a watershed style cull that hardly worked in the last century and won't work in this due to social media and technology. All you are doing is moving things on to somewhere else rather than taking responsibility and managing it correctly and responsible, it's very sad.

What’s most interesting though is that mainstream media doesn’t even mention female shooters when they claim to show the history of the crime — but I guess they’re going by high scores. While its true that most shooting sprees are committed by males, it is also truethat most child abuse, neglect, and murders are committed by females.

What does the Rainbow flag mean to you?
Explaining the Rainbow flags origins in https://pridematters.wordpress.com/2016/05/07/the-origin-of-the-rainbow-flag/ makes all of us aware of its historic meaning, just the same as other iconic items through out history the flag means so many things to so many different people.
Originally the colours all had their own meaning and there were even a couple more colours than there is today.
Only recently the meanings appear to be making a come back.

homophobia isn't real either, it was invented by homosexuals to silence the majority.
Clearly it didn’t work bc y’all never shut the fuck up.
Actually, it was invented by an heterosexual psychologist and was populised in a hetrosexual porn magazine in the early seventies. Little do you know!
Pronouns are some of the most commonly-used words both in literature and conversation. They are defined as a word that replaces a noun, used to avoid repetition – I recommended a book to my friend because I thought she would enjoy it. We assimilate the sense without caring that the order of the elements described is then reversed and accept that ‘she’ means my friend and ‘it’ the book. In comparison to many languages, the English language does not assign genders to all words or demand that we identify by gender; my neighbour, my partner, even my dog all have no assumptions attached to them. Muslim designer’s ‘pride hijab’ to spread message of love at gay Mardi Gras
The headscarf, created as part of a campaign to push for same-sex marriage in Australia, sold out days after it was launched in October, Australian-Sri Lankan Azahn Munas told the Thomson Reuters Foundation by phone.
The designer said he was relaunching it for the Australian city’s famous festival on March 3 to“celebrate life and love”, and highlight the struggles of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
“We have had such a great response including from countries in the Middle East and East Asia. People were so happy that we acknowledged their identity but not in a negative way,” said Munas, who founded the Melbourne-based label MOGA in 2016.
“They live in fear and persecution, they can’t live a free life because of where they live - we want to do this as a way to support them.”
Australia legalized same-sex unions in December after a national postal survey overwhelmingly endorsed marriage equality.
This is beautifully hilarious. 👆🏾 Gay Culture
You can tell the camera person knew they both were bout to propose! Lol
I love this so much 😍💕💕
Took a moment to understand what was happening.
Who was Henry Labouchere? I often talk about Section 11 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, commonly known as the Labouchere Amendment. This act made “gross indecency” between two males a crime in the UK and this amendment was named after Henry Labouchere. ‘Gross indecency’ meant that any man who had committed any act of homosexuality with another man could be prosecuted under the new amendment. Unlike the Buggery act of 1533, which only prosecuted against the act of buggery, therefore the new act was much easier for prosecution and clearly opened it up to interpretation. Henry Labouchere was an English writer, poet, publisher and ironically a theatre owner, a profession that was historically associated with homosexuals working as theatre workers, yet a man who clearly was homophobic. I called the Trans Lifeline today.
I was having some issues with my parents, mostly my dad, and once they left the house, I grabbed the phone. The first time I called, no one answered. A robotic voice said something along the lines of “We’re sorry, no one is able to talk to you right now. Please try again later.” So I did. 10 minutes of petting my cat later, I tried again. I was met with someone who said ‘Welcome to the trans lifeline. How may I help you?’ and little me just went “….Hi. I’ve never done this before..” and they laughed and told me what the do- they’re a group of transgender people who will happily help any transgender person who calls. Its for crisis’s or just any issues. They will offer resources and will only call authorities if you give them permission. I introduced myself- my age, name and pronouns/identity. The man introduced himself at Jim (Or John, the connection was kind of bad), he was also transgender male, and we talked for a bit. I told him about my family and experiences, and he was very helpful. He gave me a few numbers in my state that are helpful for me, and I almost cried. We talked for about 20 minutes before my parents got home. I panicked and was like ‘Hnghn my parents are home I really need to go.” and he was like “Okay, Alex. Call back if you need to, I hope this was helpful.” He was totally used to people needed to go quickly, and I felt so much better.
Trans Lifeline - 877-565-8860
I highly suggest calling this number if you need someone to talk to. It helped more than I thought it would.
In 2009, a Ugandan MP, David Bahati, drafted a bill named Kill the Gays. In late 2013, this was called the Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act 2014, and was passed as law in parliament. This Act changed the previously held “imprisonment” sentence, to the death penalty. In 2014, the Nigerian government also criminalised homosexuality, and many other African nations took it upon themselves to follow in the footsteps of these two countries. It is thought that roughly quarter of a million gay and bisexual men alone, served in the British armed forces during World War II. The military had a different attitude towards open sexuality just before the war and during. At the time there was none of the later homophobic uproar about ‘gays’ undermining military discipline and effectiveness. With Britain seriously threatened by the Nazis, the forces weren’t fussy about who they accepted. Read more at https://t.co/xi92nuBVDY https://t.co/Ca1OGD8IBX
Mathew Shepard died on October 12th, 1998 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado – six days after a homophobic attack that took place on October 6th, 1998 – and left to die at Laramie, with heavy brain injuries in Wyoming, U.S.A. His injuries were so severe that the gentleman who discovered Sheppard mistook him for a Scarecrow at first glance.
