PRIMO AND DEATH. this post focuses on death, how primo views death, and how he had made plans in regards to his own if he had not been murdered.
from a young age, primo has been acutely aware of death and how one's own death could affect social connections. how it fundamentally changes a person, no matter the depth of their bond shared with or how long one knew the deceased. he greatly understands and respects death in all life, often watching flowers wilt and decay within the gardens he calls him. but he was plagued with it young, having lost his own mother at a rather young age, and understood that it changed him as a person. it would further develop his own views surrounding his inevitable death, also.
primo has never feared death. having experienced it young, he deeply understands how it is a vital part of life and inescapable. all are born from the earth, and all must return to the soil to continue the cycle of life and death seamlessly. it is incorporated into his gardening, recycling food scraps and even deceased animals one might find before the ghouls do, sometimes offering a small prayer of thanks to them. he will never view death negatively and openly engages in educating others that, while death is a sorrowful and painful experience for those left behind, it is part of a larger circle that has transcended them all. and will continue after their own have occurred.
since his body began failing him, primo has encountered a few scares in his lifetime. because of this, he actively made funeral plans regarding his own death in preparation, continously fine tuning it at times to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible for those he would leave behind. he planned how he would like to be buried in the gardens, with a headstone for those who wished to speak or mourn him, somewhere private away from wandering eyes. he had also planned that there would be a public funeral for the minsitry to attend, as tradition, but then a private one with only his family and close close friends so they could mourn and say goodbye in private. this was particularly for his brothers, so they needn't act as members of the bloodline but simply as his brothers.
if he had not been murdered, i do fear only a year or a few years after 2018. his body, by the time of his murder, is extremely frail, often he is limited to only his rooms or the gardens, always with a ghoul nearby to ensure his safety and stability. since his twenties he has been on a decline, and touring heavily has affected his health, hence why his own tours were rather small compared to any of his brothers;
draconian times mmxi tour: march 29 - april 1 2011.
defenders of the faith iii tour: november 27 - december 8 2011.
13 dates of doom tour: january 18 - february 2012.
heritage hunter tour: april 4 - may 12 2012
by late 2012, he had his final incident where he actively lost stability and momentary consciousness during mass, and fell. and he saw death: a woman dressed in white, perhaps an angel, approached and warned that if he continued to push through his pain, he would not have long left. it was a reluctant decision, even if forced, to step down as papa and let the mantle pass to his brother. he felt extremely guilty and lamented over his own impending death.
he would never want to be put into a glass coffin or paraded about on tour. all he wanted was a final resting place where he could watch over his family and flock. but that was robbed from him.
