Recovery

I went to the doctors today and I guess my weight bang on. 144 lbs. A full 50 lbs gained from when I hit my lowest point because of an eating disorder. That weight was 8 years ago and a lot of anger and pain was hiding in that tiny body. Recovery has never been easy and I did most of it alone, but that’s how I needed it to be. I’ve always been alone, and healing alone is my proudest accomplishment. I can remember every part of my eating disorder, but I can also remember every day of my recovery and nothing can take away the pride I have in myself for surviving (despite my best efforts not to). Because I’m still here, I have protected people who needed it, defended those who deserved it, and loved everyone I’ve come across. And I learned that those were the attributes I was looking for when looking for my savior from ED. And I found all of those in myself. Damn. I’m proud of me.
