TL;DR Time to inject even more eldritch Weird into my original stuff. It was the original plan, but I basically removed it to make it more commercially viable. I now care less about making the cosmology all squeaky clean and/or giving everyone a happy ending. Because that's not how it works.

The mutagenic cosmology I've got CAN be fucked up. There CAN be unfixable problems, uncaring gods, and disastrous magic. And I don't have to carve a smiley face onto it.

I never liked seeing that anyway.

Anyway, thanks Iron Lung, the mere fact that you exist reminded me that Other Stories can exist, and that maybe, maybe, someone will see them.

OG Stuff Rant

Ok, SO, I've mainly been working on an OG fic. It's long, and I UNFORTUNATELY had to do a plot redirect. Or, at least, it's gonna take a lot longer than I thought it would. There's room for 'book 1' to take place before the 'main couple' heads to another country, for one thing because the entire relationship dynamic just shifted, because I figured out that ONE THING that WAS driving a lot of the romantic tension...well...turned out that FMC evolved into someone not nearly stupid enough to not figure out. /grammerfail lol

...ALSO her entire cultural landscape all but LEADS HER BY THE HAND to figure it out. So now the relationship dynamic has shifted. There's still tension. But it's different. And the overarching Universe Plot Problem is still the same.

Fortunately I'm keeping the magic system soft. Romantic tension = still there. But different. Drama = still there, angst = still there (hopefully).

....so yeah this blog might have more ranting about THAT than about fanfic for awhile.

I basically arranged my universe to have as many Cool Monster Men as possible, for maximum smut story potential. Ok smut AND story. The longer form stuff is probably going to be relatively tame, depending on how the tone works out. The shorter stuff (in progress, anyway) is relatively plotless, but still universe-relevant. And 10k max, as a personal challenge.

Also the next chapter of 'An Ending, Guided by Compassion' has a kink I've never written before so it's taking A LONG FREAKING TIME to navigate everything fml. And Miquella's being an asshole.

The OG stuff might be semi-vagueposting to keep it spoiler free because I want to publish it eventually (very, very eventually) but. Rants. And concept sketches because I like those.
