All right lookit.

I know I said I'd be back when I finished my novel and I, perhaps foolishly, suggested that might be in May. But the book isn't finished, in fact, it's what I am (sort of) fondly calling a disaster book. Also, there's other stuff. (See: living with a persistent chronic health condition).

I'm still trying to keep writing fanfic as the thing I do for my own enjoyment. A hobby that I can escape into, not a burden. However, for the last two months, I've not had a lot of my own time to work on THttHoP.

I'd like to wrap up for the five year anniversary of when I began, but please do not anyone take that as a firm announcement. This is basically my reassurance that it's not forgotten, the intention is alive and well, but the space in my life to fulfil the intention is, as Aladdin's genie would say, 'itty bitty living space.'

Thank you for waiting, thank you for reading, thank you for sticking around as I flap madly through my career. As ever, I'm grateful.

Summary:

Shane Hollander has spent his entire life training to become a superhero. Now, as Waypoint, he's finally getting his chance. Though his powers may not be as flashy as the big names like The Admiral, Waypoint's battle IQ and uncanny ability to navigate a battlefield have made him one of the most promising young heroes in Canada. The Montreal Voyageurs want him as their captain, and everyone is calling him a generational talent.

Then, Redline arrives. The speedster who seemingly cropped up out of nowhere is particularly determined to take down the long-standing legacy of the Voyageurs, and has formed a new villain crew, the Raiders, with that very goal in mind.

Taking a civilian job in Boston as cover, Shane is prepared to face this new threat. What he is less prepared for is Ilya Rozanov, the annoyingly handsome Russian coworker who seems far too interested in Shane's business.

Meanwhile, Ilya Rozanov is beginning to wonder if living up to his father's supervillain legacy is all it's cracked up to be. Especially when there's a particularly boring new accountant with beautiful freckles who, despite all his training against it, is becoming increasingly difficult for Rozanov to resist.

alright, naruhina fam. here's the plan so far.

I'm currently revising chapters 11 and 12 of pilates. (EEEEE I'M EXCITED)

as of right now, chapters 11 and 12 will be combined with a little more dialogue and context, with a bit of chapter 12 shaved off at the end. but that also means, I will be posting the next chapter (technically the new chapter 12) back-to-back. so it'll be a bit confusing if you're coming back to familiar content. but I promise, there will be some new stuff in there! ;)

I'm super excited to get this update out to you guys. I know it's been months since my last, and if I'm being honest, I was feeling stuck. I also felt a little unsatisfied with where I left it off...so now I'm determined to make an even greater comeback! I missed naruhina so much.

apologies for the lateness on fics -- life has been very busy and I've had a lot of anxiety lately! but I'm really wanting to update and have been itching to work on stuff, so ideally this weekend should get some fics out.
