Shiloh hummed a little as she heard him speak, covering her mouth as she giggled at his words, shrugging her shoulders, “We really did. I remember his family was kind of important? He always had a bodyguard following us around, but we would always manage to give him the slip so we could go and play together.” Shiloh ran her fingers through her hair, “I think he was the last friend I made before we really started to move around. I feel bad that I can’t remember his face or his name. He had the cutest laugh, though.”
Stepping out once they got to the boutique, Shiloh smiled at him, “Alright. I shouldn’t take too long, I don’t think.” She walked inside, and Shiloh was a little surprised by how nice it was– She was used to a very expensive lifestyle, and this even managed to make her feel a little out of place. “Ah, you said white tie, right? Maybe something off the shoulder? Probably red? What are you wearing?”
“Bodyguards can be difficult when you’re younger and want to play pretend.” Io’s grin widened, memories of dodging his own caretaker to more accurately play pirate on the castle grounds quick to emerge. However, he shook his head at Shiloh’s following sentiment. “I think it’s normal for names and faces to fade from your mind over time. I remember spending time with my brother’s fiance when we were growing up, but it’s easier to recall it since she’s always been around since then. The other friend I had isn’t someone I can name, either.”
As they walked further into the store, it became easy to envision her in any number of the exquisite dresses displayed ( the thought coaxing a slight flush of red to his cheekbones ). “Yes, that’s right. My tux is a very dark blue — my stylist’s fond of color.” The temptation to roll his eyes was eluded, though Io was often grateful that someone was in the position to choose his ensemble for such events as opposed to the possibility that he might pick something himself which hardly suited. “You’ll look beautiful in anything.”
