Tarot Tips
🃏 Find The Empress in your deck. The card behind her will reveal what you need to do to nurture and care for yourself.
🃏 When in conflict or competition with someone, look for 5 of Wands. The card behind it will reveal the solution to the problem.
🃏 If you see the same card over and over again in readings, it is a sign and you must pay attention to its message for you.
🃏 For a better understanding of each card, observe it closely and form your own interpretation that follows its themes. It will help you interpret readings better.
🃏 To find out what is making you feel stuck or delayed, look to The Hanged Man. The card underneath him will show what is holding you back. The card in front of him will show you how to overcome it.
🃏 When shuffling your cards, if any card drops out of your grasp, take it as a sign and read the card.
🃏 You do not need crystals with you to do proper readings, but a good way to cleanse your deck is to place a clear quartz on the top of your deck before each reading. Keep in mind; there’s a variety of ways you can cleanse your deck.
🃏 Often when The High Priestess appears in a reading, she is trying to tell you that you know the answers and that you should listen to your inner voice.
🃏 There is no wrong way to shuffle or cleanse your deck. Do what feels right for you!
Friendly Reminder:
Anyone can worship Aphrodite! Man, woman, She loves you all the same! And yes, this absolutely includes trans men and women. And nonbinary folks too! TERFs can stay mad about it!
a spell for releasing anger 🌑
this spell uses the elements of fire and water to banish and cleanse you of any anger that may be hurting you and transform it into emotional clarity and personal power. this spell is wonderful for this summer’s retrograde mars and is best performed under a dark or waning moon!
you’ll need:
✨ black (banishing) or white (cleansing and rebirth) candle
✨paper
✨pen
✨black pepper
✨a bowl of water
✨a bowl for burning
✨any other crystals or herbs you want to use (ex. clear quartz, obsidian or sage)
method:
1. begin by taking a moment to ground yourself and light your candle.
2. turn to the south and speak to the element of fire for a moment. ask for it’s aid in turning your anger to ashes, and that from those ashes may rise the ability to clearly voice your emotions and to stand up for yourself when you are hurt.
2. turn to the west and do the same with water, asking to be cleansed and made new. think about how you respond to your emotions internally and the steps you take to take care of yourself when you feel a storm inside.
3. on a piece of paper, write down the angers you’re holding inside. when you’re ready, burn the paper and combine the ash with the black pepper.
4. sitting upright and closing your eyes, meditate until you feel a sense of calm wash over you. you may choose to repeat a short mantra such as “peace and power” or visualize your anger dissolving.
5. when you are ready, dispose of the black pepper and ash mixture however you see fit (i.e. flushing down the toilet, releasing into the air, etc.)
6. to close out the spell, cleanse your ritual space and any tools used as they may be holding the negative energies you released from within.
an abundance of love and inner wisdom ♡
✨Vanilla and Sugar Spell✨
This is a spell to encourage someone who is bothering you/gossiping about you/harassing you etc come around, leave you alone, or just sweeten up a bit.
In this spell, you will need:
Vanilla extract
Four tea lights
Small bowl
Sugar
Taglock of person (or write their name on a paper)
First, sit on the floor on a comfortable place. set down a your bowl and fill it about half an inch full of vanilla (or to your liking, just make sure you can submerge your taglock in it.)
around the bowl, place your candles and light them.
sprinkle sugar in the bowl of vanilla and say (while holding the taglock)
“vanilla bitter and sugar sweet,
your reign on me will not defeat
the happiness i hold within
for soon it will be to you akin.
you’ve been bitter long enough
and under the layers you aren’t that tough.
i banish the negativity in your attitude
from here on out, your behaviors shall improve.
as i will it, so mote it be.”
pass your energy into the taglock and submerge it under the vanilla.
extinguish the candles.
keep it under for as long as you’d like until you feel certain the spell has worked. this could be days, months, or even forever. during this time period i would advise pouring the contents into a sealable glass container and hiding it somewhere it will not be touched. seal the bottle with wax if you need to.
((note to thank any deities you worship that would help you in this spell by leaving an offering at your altar!))
i don’t understand how hozier manages to be both persephone and hades
I don’t care how silly it sounds, Bob Ross is absolutely part of my pop culture pantheon, so I made this tarot spread in honor of his wisdom.

Day 1. Divination. Does it work? Would you use it? What do you think of those who do? Why?
[Image description: A drawing of two tarot cards, one obscured by the other, and a pendulum beside them. The card on top is XVII, The Star. To the right of the drawing is the following text:
I believe that divination works in that a person using it has to trust their instinct in order to make it work. Divination is not a guaranteed prediction or a 100% accurate method of learning information you don’t know, but as someone who does frequently use it, I find it reliable because I trust my intuition. I see it as (when looking forward) a way to get insight on what might happen, but you always have the power to change it.]
Me: Music is the proof that magic exists. It’s a holy gift of Apollo, given to us for our joy, but always carrying the power to heal our souls and touch our hearts.

here’s the header in my journal for the “roots of your craft” 30-day challenge!
Hello everyone! As promised, I am here with a new 30-day challenge. It’s focused on introspection and geared towards self-exploration. But wait, there’s more! It’s designed for witches who are just starting out in their exploration of witchcraft.
You can do this challenge regardless of your length of time practicing, but it’s likely to be most useful for people who still feel that they’re just getting started. I wanted to create this so that witches could answer it as they begin their Craft, then (hopefully) look back on it later and see how (and if) things have changed because of their magical work!
it would be really great if those of you doing this would tag the posts with #rootsofcraft so I and other witches can read the responses easily, compare, and learn more about how diverse our community can be. As noted, I designed this to be highly introspective, and I do hope the questions inspire a lot of thought!
In a few days, once I’ve typed it up, I’ll be posting a second challenge, called Fruits of Your Craft, designed for those who consider themselves more experienced witches.
Neither of these are really confined to any skill level or number of years/months spent practicing; it’s just a matter of how you, personally, feel about yourself. Do you feel that you’re beginning, or more experienced? So, feel free to do this, or the next one, based on that rather than the amount of time spent.
Enjoy, and I look forward to reading responses to the questions!

The Elements and their correspondences
E A R T H
Earth represents strength, grounding, prosperity, the material, wealth, success, foundations, death and rebirth. Focus on this element if the goal of your spell is about fertility, prosperity, business or stability. Earth spells may take longer to work, but they’re also more firm and are good if you’re looking for long-term solutions.

Air represents intellect and the mind, wisdom, knowledge; logic as well as abstract thought, intuition and higher consciousness. If you’re seeking freedom, travels, or to enhance your memory and focus - focus on Air spells! Air is whimsical and amiable, personally I haven’t found it useful for more serious spells, but it does wonders for my studies.
GENDER: Masculine SEASON: Spring DIRECTION: East HOUR: Dawn
COLOURS: Yellow, White, Sky Blue, Pastels ANIMALS: Birds, Spiders, Butterflies HERBS/PLANTS: Lavender, Birch, Vervain, Dill, Aspen INSTRUMENTS: Flute (Wind instruments)

Fire represents energy, passion, purification, love, inspiration, desire, will, courage, power, leadership, sexuality. In spellcraft, focusing on Fire is good for purification, healing and love spells; it’s the best element for quick, strong spells. Although, Fire is fierce in essence, and Fire spells are susceptible - they should be well thought out.
GENDER: Masculine SEASON: Summer DIRECTION: South HOUR: Noon
COLOURS: Red, Orange, Gold ANIMALS: Snakes, Lions, Horses HERBS/PLANTS: Cacti, Cinnamon, Pepper, Basil INSTRUMENTS: Guitar (Stringed instruments)
STAR SIGNS: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius STONES/GEMS: Amber, Citrine, Ruby, Tiger’s Eye RITUAL TOOLS: Athame, Candles RITUAL FORMS: Burning, Smouldering, Heating TAROT SUIT: Wands
W A T E R
Water represents purification as well; though it’s focused more on the soul and the subconscious rather than the physical, material world. Water stands for emotion, intuition, wisdom, eternal movement, reflection, lunar energy. Focusing on the Water element is good for psychic abilities, getting in tune with your inner self, mysteries, friendships, love, dreams and sleep.
GENDER: Feminine SEASON: Autumn DIRECTION: West HOUR: Dusk
