CHADWICK-Â âOkay they just named Symia as Princess, Prince is next. Get ready, Gabe.â
GABE-Â âIt is going to be Jackson, Chad, you and I both know it is. He is the star quarterback, the one with the full ride and much better looking.â
CHADWICK-Â âWhy are you always all about Jackson? They do not pick the Prince on those qualities alone, Gabe. And you are just as good as Jackson Schrieber, on and off the field. And as far as looks go, you got him beat hands down!â
ANNOUNCER-Â âAND NOW TO NAME THIS YEARS WINTER BALL PRICE, The winner this year is one of our biggest football stars to ever come out of Brindleton High, and is also at the top of his graduating class. Congratulations, GABRIEL MATTHEWS!!â
GABE- âOH MY WATCHER!! I did, I did win!â
CHADWICK- âSee, what did I say? You ARE better than Jackson. Npow go grab my cousin and you guys dance, but look for me as soon as it is over, Okay?â
GABE- âOkay, yesâŠOh dear I forgot I have to danceâŠâ
Letâs Support Each Other! đ A-Z Simblr Shoutouts - Edition #1 - Letter âUâ!
Inspired by @katsujiiloveââs idea to make simblr shoutout lists, as well as to support and unite the community members as much as possible, I decided to also take the initiative and do it myself on a less or more regular basis in the alphabetical order! This time I come with merely three blogs, as I only knew three starting with âUâ. All of them are very recommended by me, yet I want to know more, and certainly so do you. Here is a task for you guys - if you reblog it perchance, tag yourselves and your friends, alright? đ Let the list fulfill! Let it overflow! Donât be shy!
Edition #1 - 29.09.2020 - Letter âUâ:
@uri-simkaâ @undooliveâ @umeosimsâ
Important note: Please, donât be sad that you havenât found yourself on this list right now. I have limited blogs to recommend to the amount of 10, so everybody gets a turn - this âeditionâ wonât be the only one, if everything goes well. Mentioned or not, you are awesome and you belong here - your content is unique and it contributes to creating this community. You are valid đ
Update to Hiatus
I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers....it is with great sadness that I let everyone know.....my mother passed over today.....my sister and I were able to be there with her as she let go of this life and moved on to her next adventure......I have faith she is not alone as she is reunited with my brother and my father......we will miss her...but she lived a good long life.....and she is no longer suffering
Hiatus
Life has a way of throwing a curve and I am going to have to take a break for a bit....my mother is in the hospital and diagnosed with adult respiratory distress syndrome...she is in the hospital and prognosis is not good.....so for now this is where all my energy and time will be focused......
Jake is handcuffed behind his back and led closer to Daniel, who he now recognizes.
JAKE-Â âGo figure itâs you. You were the detective working with Ian, werenât you!?â
OFFICER WALSH-Â âDonât say anymore, Bowling, you were read your rights, anything you say now at this point can be taken as evidence against you.â
JAKE-Â âTrust me, I have nothing to say to either of you. Once I get my phone call, my attorney will do my talking.â
DANIEL-Â âYou should listen to Julie, Bowling, this is not going to help your case.â
JAKE-Â âYou know my past, for sure. You were working with Ian and Seth to help take me down. I didnât rape him, he was the one that jumped my bones, it was consensual, trust me.â
OFFICER WALSH-Â âYou should take my advise Bowling and shut up.â
DANIEL-Â âThose charges were dropped, but I can guarantee you that that episode will certainly be brought into your trial. Now, shut up like Julie said, and letâs get you behind bars, where you belong.â
JAKE-Â âTrust me, I wonât be there long. Then I will finish what I started here today.â
OFFICER WALSH-Â âOkay, we have heard enough, get going, you donât listen do you? You just incriminated yourself even more. Letâs go.â
DANIEL-Â âGreat job, Julie, thanks for getting this bastard.â
Officer Walsh (Julie) -Â âAll in a days work detective, all in a days work. Just glad he didnât jump over the rail, because I want to see justice on this and that would not have been justice.â
It was both Jackson and Ian at the door, Seth yelled for Jack to call 911 and for Ian to get a hold of Daniel, as one of the dogs ran out towards the gunmanâŠSeth knew who it was, there was no mistaking that voice. He just kept putting pressure on the wound, hoping the bleeding would stop. The police would catch him, there was no where for him to go, the bay was right thereâŠ
The intruder, who Seth knew was Jake took off running towards the bay as Jackson ran back into the house to call 911.
Mark seemed to be coming around, Seth couldnât tell where the bullet ended up and was just putting pressure on the area he could see, he tried to comfort him as he heard the sirens of the ambulance and the police come into their drive.
SETH- âStay calm, baby⊠itâs OK the ambulance is here. Please stay still Mark, donât move, I am not sure where the bullet went. Just relax, I am here, right here. I love you Mark, itâs going to be okay. It HAS to be okay.
Mark was right, there was SOMETHING out there, and that something was a someone wielding a gun. As the intruder got closer to the house, neither Seth nor Mark saw him, but the dogs could from their vantage point at the window and they started barking even more ferocious. As the intruder came around the garage towards the pool and in sight of Mark and Seth, Mark saw him firstâŠ.
MARK- âSETH!! OVER THEREâŠ. SOMEONE HAS Aâ-
SETH-Â âWhat? What! where?â
Mark lunges towards Seth, as a gunshot rings out into the foggy Sunday morning. Birds scatter in the nearby trees and their dogs run to the back door trying to get out and protect their ownersâŠ
INTRUDER- âHe got in the way!! It doesnât matter though, You got the message right Schrieber, just know your were the target!â
Seth heard the wrods, but didnât turn around, his thoughts were Mark, lying there on the cobblestone, blood coming from somewhere. He heard noises inside the house. it must have been either Ian or Jackson, they must have heard the shot.
IAN- âDaniel⊠I mean Detective⊠is everything okay, did you find Jake?â
DANIEL-Â âYou can call me Daniel, Ian, that is fine. But we didnât find him, however we do know that he is back in town. He gave a two week notice to the Condo Association on Monday, and by Thursday he was moving out. Not sure where he is staying at in town, but he is still here.â
IAN-Â âSo, was he at least brought in for questioning?â
DANIEL-Â âSorry, but we did get a cease and desist letter from his attorney?â
IAN-Â âMeaning what?â
DANIEL- âWell that is why I wanted to talk to Seth. It states in the letter that they feel Seth is the one behind all of this, and they are demanding he stop harassing their client, and if not they will file defamation charges against him. However, his parole officer contacted me and said that Jake made threats against Seth. Not sure why this is all being directed towards him, but Jake apparently has a grudge.â
IAN- âIsnât making threats cause for arrest? I mean there should be something we can do to make this idiot leave us alone. I mean, fine. I will drop all charges if he will just go away.â
DANIEL- âI am afraid that you are not the issue and you dropping the charges, may not help the situation at this point. Maybe it will. I mean if you want to drop them thatâs your choice. It is not going to stop me from keeping an eye on this predator. I have seen this too many times, and they do get caught at some point, but unfortunately it is because they went to far and really hurt someone or caused their death. I want this guy as bad as you do, but for Sethâs sake maybe drop the charges and see if this de-escalates him.â
IAN-Â âOkay, consider them dropped. I came in and reported it because Mark and Seth told me I needed to, but if it is going to put them in Jakeâs sights, I will drop them.â
DANIEL- âOkay, I will take care of that, and contact his attorney and the parole officer and let them know you are not pursuing this. I believe though his parole officer is now being a bit suspicious due to the threats he made toward Seth, or he wouldnât hace called me and let me know. So, do you have a minute, I was hoping to talk to you, about something else.â
IAN-Â âSure go ahead.â
DANIEL-Â âItâs more a of a personal matter, is there somewhere more private we can talk?â
IAN- âSure, yeahâŠletâs go down to my apartment in the basement. Follow me.â
such an adorable little guy.....
I feel like when it comes to action and environment I can write well but I struggle the most with dialogue, especially when it's between more than two characters. Do you have any advice on how to build up a flowing conversation?
Iâm going to be honest - dialogue takes work. It takes stripping out the boring parts of speech and cutting off conversations you think should last longer. It takes some work, and itâs good practice to study other mediums, like TV/movies, and comics, to see how itâs done there.
Some quick tips:
Make dialogue dynamic, not realistic. - No âahsâ or âumsâ need apply. Choppy sentences are better than meandering ones. Accents are fine, but no one wants to difficult to read phonetic spelling - keep it simple, and by focusing on the way people speak, not just how they speak, you save us all a headache.
Dialogue is just as much about whatâs not being said as it is whatâs being said. If youâre writing a mystery, characters are withholding information. If itâs a romance, characters are hiding their feelings for each other. But regardless of the genre, all characters have something theyâre arenât saying - whether itâs their personal feelings on events or the fact that the magic potion everyone is looking for is tucked in their coat pocket. What they donât say - and what they say instead - will get your plot some great interactions.
Cut your grand speeches short. Long speeches leave readers bored. If you have a character that needs to convey a lot of information, doing it in text (âShe went on to tell us about the last great battle of the war...â) or find another way to convey the information. A great âsecretâ in writing is that you have to think about how your words look on the page, and if thereâs anything too long or chunky the interrupts the flow. Lengthy dialogue can do that, so watch out.
Remember:
Dialogue either resolve a plot point or complicates it.
The goal of dialogue is to reveal information or hide it.
Snappy back and forths are better than lengthy sentences.

Since I did one for Nick, I thought it was only fair to do one for Zoey too and the next on will be the two of them together
If you write a strong character, let them fail.
If you write a selfless hero, let them get mad at people.
If you write a cold-heated villain, let them cry.
If you write a brokenhearted victim, let them smile again.
If you write a bold leader, let them seek guidance.
If you write a confident genius, let them be wrong, or get stumped once in a while.
If you write a fighter or a warrior, let them lose a battle, but let them win the war.
If you write a character who loses everything, let them find something.
If you write a reluctant hero, give them a reason to join the fight.
If you write a gentle-hearted character who never stops smiling, let that smile fade and tears fall in shadows.
If you write a no one, make them a someone.
If you write a sibling, let them fight and bicker, but know that at the end of the day theyâll always have each otherâs back.
If you write a character, make them more than just a character; give them depth, give them flaws and secrets, and give them life.
ENOCH- âThanks for defending me out there to Jackson. I fully understand his anger right now, and if he wants to direct it to me, thatâs fine.â
SETH-Â âHe is working through a lot. But I meant what I said, Enoch. You and Corrine were friends way before you had Jack and got married. She would have wanted you to be here.â
ENOCH-Â âI wanted to talk to you about Jacksonâs custody issue.â
SETH-Â âWe can talk about this later, Enoch. This isnât the time toââ
ENOCH-Â âNo, hear me out. I am not going to fight it, Seth. Corrine wanted you to raise him if something happened, and I will respect that. I would like shared parenting, or some say in his life, but I will support you regardless.â
SETH-Â âI am fine with that, Brother, and thank you. Right now I know Jack is not interested in having a relationship with you, but in time, he will. And he has said that he wants to be able to see his sister and be part of her life, so there is that.â
ENOCH-Â âWe have had our differences, Seth, but Corrine knew what she was doing when she named you his custodial parent. You would do a much better job than I could.â
SETH-Â âEnoch, do not sell yourself short. You were vital to Jacksonâs early days, and were right there for him and Corrine. Jackson was too young to know just how much you were there and how much you loved him. We all make mistakes, brother, but you are cleaning your life up, and like I said in time, Jack is going to need you and WANT you. Mark is talking to one of his associates and we think Jackson should have some counseling to get him through all of this.â
ENOCH- âThat is good. Yes, I think he would benefit from that for sure, and If I can help or they want me to be part of it, just let me know. I will do whatever I can to get him through all of this.â
SETH-Â âMark and I may be responsible for raising him now, but you will ALWAYS be his father, Enoch.â
Enoch left, in tears, and upset, but he knew by agreeing to Corrineâs wishes, Jackson would be in the best hands possible.
MARK- âYou did good, Seth. Enoch will remember those words for a long time. Now if we can just get Jackson to that point.â
ROYCE-Â âListen to me Jack, go back home with your Grams tonight, and Uncle Seth and I will stay there with you, or even come back early in the morning. We will take care of everything. Are you going to be okay?â
JACKSON-Â âI donât want to leave mom.â
ROYCE-Â âJackson, there is nothing we can do now. We can see her in a couple days. Let us take you to Grams.â
JACKSON- âNo⊠I donât want to go there. Dad is there. I donât want to see him. This all his fault.â
SETH-Â âJack, this is no ones fault, bud. This was an accident. If you donât want to go to Grams, that is fine. Do you want to go home, I can stay with you there tonight if you want?â
ROYCE- âI can as well. Whatever you want, Jack.â
JACKSON-Â âI want to go stay with Uncle Seth.â
SETH- âOkay. that is fine. You can stay as long as you want. Stay here right now with Royce and Grams while I go pull the car around.â
Jackson finally sat down, and then he just started sobbing. His heart was broken. If his dad wouldnât have left, his mom wouldnât have had to take on the second job. She would be safe at home right now. Uncle Seth is wrong, it was his fault. His thoughts were running all over the place, and he couldnât hear his grandmother trying to comfort him.
He was quiet all the way back to Brindleton. Seth dropped off Lila and Royce and they headed back to his house. Luckily there was still an empty room. With Markâs family there, it was going to be a little crowded, but it didnât matter. He sat with Jackson as long as he needed, and waited for him to fall asleepâŠ
