So.
It's been a while.
I had a post written up a while back about the dwindling stock of yarn in craft stores...then JoAnn's went bankrupt, which only makes the problem worse.
I can't just browse for yarn online, darn it! I need to see the yarn! The exact color shade is important! I need to feel the yarn! Texture is important!
Does the yarn have a weird smell? Does it fray or split easily? These are not things I can learn simply by looking at an online listing! 😭
I wanna do an embroidery of something fandom-y, and I have no idea what. My only real idea is maybe the Shire or Bag End from LOTR, but a lot of more talented people than me have done that already.
I'd love to do something from Supernatural, but I don't really want to have the anti-possession symbol on it. I also don't want to try to do embroidery of faces.
...I just wanna embroider something besides flowers. 😑

I'm just sitting here, doing some embroidery while I watch some random guy on YouTube play a horror game. Pretty normal night for me.
The game has a mine with spooky things that have happened in its history, when the guy says, "What was that movie with some miner, causing all sorts of trouble, and it was Jensen Ackles? I can't remember the name of it, but it was nuts, because it was Jensen Ackles, just Dean running around doing bad things!"
I can't even escape this show doing embroidery while watching some random YouTuber from somewhere in the UK play an indie horror game!

My husband was at a friend's wedding this week (I was invited, but declined to come along because, well, my physical body sucks), and he got to hang out with some of his friends and meet their significant others.
One kept sort of...staring at him.
She finally said, "I feel like I know you from somewhere! I must have seen you somewhere before!"
Husband was confused, said he was pretty sure he'd never seen her before in his life.
Then she snapped her fingers. "That's it! You look like Samwise Gamgee!"
His buddies at the table took a second look at him, a few people Googled up pics of Sean Astin, and it was decided that, yes, he is similar to Sam.

I will never understand my inability to simply START something.
To start reading a story, to start watching a movie or series, to start a game. Or even to continue that activity at a different time, it's all the same for my brain!
There are a few exceptions: Mindlessly play solitaire for hours? Scroll Pinterest for no reason? Super easy.
Start playing a game for the night, one that I'm halfway through and enjoying? Pick a new video on YouTube, or even something to watch over again? Nigh impossible.
Once I get over the hump of "starting," it's great! I'm happy and enjoying whatever it is I'm doing! But starting the activity for the day? It feels like such a difficult task.
This effect gets worse when I'm stressed or anxious, like I have been lately.
To sum up: doing fun things = less stress = less anxiety, but starting fun activity = A NX IET Y. 😭

Or, in a larger project, the flow of the variegated yarn gets messed up because of the manufacturer tying together two pieces of yarn that aren't in the same color pattern sequence.
Mid-skein knots should be illegal in variegated yarn.
