Name: Human non-conforming (HNC)

Human non-conforming (HNC, similar to gender non-conforming) is an umbrella label encompassing all identities and subcultures that somehow incorporate nonhuman elements in any way. This includes (note that identities in brackets are not by default under this umbrella, and are not an exhaustive list):

- People who dress or appear in nonhuman ways (cosplayers, furries, body modders)

- People who reclaim or relate to nonhumanity (voidpunk, otherhearted, copinglink)

- People who are not human or partially not human (in any form) (alterhuman, overhuman)

- People who use certain genders or neopronouns (aliengender, xenopronouns)

- People who don't identify as any of these things but still are somehow linked to nonhumanity

This label is self identified. It should not be used on others to dehumanise them.

The symbol is meant to represent twisting and changing humanity, people who are innately not human, inner nonhuman aspects and generally all HNC people.

An umbrella term for any beings(alterhuman or nonhuman) who appear human but something doesn't look right.

What "doesn't look right" about this being can be pinpointed or nearly impossible to do so.

Some examples can be, but are not limited to:

Shapeshifters with a highly preferred human form

Humans/Human-like beings with a sense of uncanny valley to them

Extremely human-looking AI + can apply to uncanny valley depending on the AI in question

Humans with minimal traits considered "unrealistic" - ie: Fangs, slit pupils, a functional tail, etc.

Pseudohumans

Human equivalent of not-deer

Very humanoid non-human beings (ie: some faes, vampires, etc.)

Something else one might use this term for

Whether it is a kintype or a linktype, it doesn't matter! This label is for everyone!

As such, dricadic may feel contradictory in itself, and may feel both comfortable, home-y, and nostalgic, but also eerie, liminal, and confusing. It may have a tie to a specific generational period, it may be related to your own nostalgia, or it may relate to retro aesthetics in general.

It may feel hollow, hard to remember, and dreamlike, as though you’re walking through spaces you once explored in childhood that have become hazy and strange. It may also feel tied to anemoia (nostalgia for a time you never lived in), as well as the sense of something being “off” or not quite right. It may also feel bright, neon, flashy, and/or artificial.

The public bathroom outside of a large club. Your perception feels slightly sideways. The lights are bright under the door but the room is strangely dark. The music pounding outside sounds like its underwater. You think someone might be in there with you. Are you dreaming?

Inside a large crowd at an old concert. Nobody in the masses of people seems to have a face; they vaguely resemble something, but they seem to shift and become more hazy the more you focus.

An abandoned, empty spaceship. You’re in the hallway. You go into the door on the left. You’re in the hallway. You go into the door on the right. You’re in the hallway. You think it’s getting darker.

A daycare from the 80s. The fake trees and plants are worn with age, but the dirty fingerprints left behind don’t look like they belonged to any children.

DragonClaimer: A stance related to fighting against fake claiming of neurodivergent individuals, such as systems. This also goes against the refusal to believe certain disorders exist or are as rare as people say they are.

NOTE: These are not neurodivergent exclusive. Allys can use them too.

Couldn't find anything related to what I was looking for, so I decided to come up with my own labels and flags! Beginning with...

A gender related to one's vocal stims being fox noises 🦊

BirdChirpstimmic

A gender related to one's vocal stims being bird noises(usually chirping) 🐦

These labels were coined with neurodivergent alterhuman and nonhuman beings in mind, but aren't strictly for alterhumans/nonhumans!

These were fun to make! I'll definitely come up with more like this in the future ';)
