Downloads http://music.cosmonostro.com/album/venus-sway or https://itun.es/i6gF2QJ Bio Shiloh is a collaboration between Electronic producer Daktyl and singer-songwriter JJ Draper of Arbour. Despite growing up just twenty minutes away from one another in the countryside of the midlands and sharing many mutual friends, it was only when Daktyl approached JJ about sampling vocals from his debut album Heights that the two spoke about their musical endeavours. After ‘Found’ was complete, they were quick to get together to work on new material, sensing an opportunity to share a passion for music that went beyond and across genres. A sound soon emerged that clearly displayed an eclectic mixture of influences, combining song structure and harmony with beat-driven, experimental electronic accompaniment. The pair completed the 5 track EP Venus Sway after a week of writing and production. It is an album about Time and our relationship with our memories - how we live and relive, revel and regret. Shiloh release Venus Sway on Cosmonostro on 30th June 2014. Shiloh - Venus Sway Release Date : 06/30/14 Tracklist Reminisce Volta Morning Venus Sway Came Across About Meet Shiloh – a meeting of two musical minds that seemed destined to happen, as the two orbited each other in the UK’s midlands before colliding and collaborating for a week’s worth of sessions, resulting in this stellar debut for the Cosmonostro family. Followers of the Cosmo back catalogue will no doubt already be familiar with Daktyl, who delivered his ‘Chase Road’ EP of club-ready bangers earlier in the year – here he is joined by songwriter JJ Draper of Arbour, with a more mellow collection of melodic spaced-out tracks perfect for the headphones. The EP kicks off with ‘Reminisce’ – smooth pads play off organic percussion, perfectly complemented by the dulcet tones of JJ, and build to a dubbed out climax with plenty of swing & gorgeous vocal harmonies. ‘Volta’ begins with darker tones, but the ominous arps & grizzly low end quickly make way for a more upbeat mood when Draper’s vocals enter the equation. ‘Morning’ begins with ethereal soundscapes and reverb-soaked vocals, before upping the energy with 808 claps and trap-infused hi-hat rolls, and introducing otherworldly harps and repeated vocal melodies you can sink right into. The EP’s title track follows, with chugging low-end and playful synth melodies, building to a chorus in which JJ repeatedly insists that ‘we’ve made it’ – reinforcing the feeling that we’ve reached the destination in our cosmo-melodic journey. ‘Came Across’ closes the EP with beautifully mellow tones – a largely beatless conclusion that lets JJ’s vocals really shine, over understated organ chords and ghostly chimes.
