Sure, I'd be happy to! :) Keep in mind it's less of a distinctive, numbered process for me! But I think this the general flow, regardless of hair type.
1) Of course, starting base colors! The exact hue doesn't matter, the following rendering is all in respective to the base! :)
2) Now, I typically begin with a lighter color along the out-most part of the hair, following the flow. Now, this shouldn't be too far off from the base, like a single shade lighter!
3) Then, add a darker hue around the lighter part you just added in step (2)! It'll make the lighter curls pop. It shouldn't be too far off from the base, either, slightly darker.
4) Now, a brighter color, much brighter, highlight across the top. More sparingly, add to out-most parts of the hair, as well!
5) Now, we're really rolling! Add more depth by adding darker and darker hues, using step (3) as a guide. Feel free to add zig zags, curls, etc depending on how the hair flows.
6) I personally love adding a random, secondary color to make it pop even more. That depends on you, in this case, I'm choosing purple!
7) Now back to light! Add another, lighter, brighter, part to the lighter portions of the hair. More sparingly, of course, it should not completely overtake anything. You can also expand the lighter curls you made in step (4). I make it loosely follow a line, but it curls and zig-zags as it goes.
8) At this step, you can do whatever you like, adjusting accordingly. So, perhaps harder to see, I added another color, a much cooler blue, around random curls. It makes a smoother transition from the deep, dark shadows to lighter portions.
9) Final step, you made it! Adding tinier, random curls. Either in black, or lightest, brightest curls. Again, pretty much doing what you like now, but this is how I like it! As you can see, this process can work in different colors, or in black and white.
