When my cousin went to Vietnam he left his car at our grandparents’ house and this tweaker tried to steal it. My abuela was washing dishes so she saw him out the window, went outside with a soapy pan to beat the guy, and when he left she followed him 5 blocks to his house, walked all the way back home to call the police, and walked all the back to the guy’s house to make sure he didn’t leave before the cops got there. She was almost 80 at this time. I could never hope to be half as badass as my abuelita.
