Probably Forgotten WordGirl Facts

This is a blog dedicated to facts that I have discovered throughout various episodes of WordGirl.

Tobey: Recognize these?

Becky: Uh...

[Tobey quickly realizes he is holding up the wrong photos and becomes visibly embarrassed.]

Tobey: That’s not—I didn’t—ugh.

Tobey has drawn various images of him and WordGirl spending time together.

The far left features the pair in a boat being rowed by Chronos, while Tobey gives WordGirl a bouquet of flowers.

The middle is of WordGirl carrying Tobey, as she flys through the sky.

And the far right image is of the two seemingly getting married by one of Tobey’s robots.

Scout Leader Scott Wild: Anyways, there’s a key to the city here, and it beings to one of you scouts, and the lucky winner is... Violet Heaslip.

Violet: Hey, Scoops, do you want to hold the—

[Scoops promptly cuts Violet short as he excitedly shifts behind her, taking the key from her.]

Scoops: Hey, sure. Yeah.

Violet won the key to the city after gaining the most patches in her troop, during a single day.

She also let Scoops hold it.

Tobey, just after hitting his thumb with a hammer: Owee!

[Violet proceeds to show up and carefully place a bandage around the injury.]

Violet: Yes! Fix-an-owee badge completed.

When Tobey accidentally hurts his thumb with a hammer, Violet puts a bandaid on it for him.

Becky: So, we have the same taste in footwear? So what?

Tobey: Yes, that may be, but it’s funny what else you realize when one thing falls into place.

Tobey: Like I realized that you and WordGirl are the same height, the same hair style and color!

Becky: Oh, that’s ridiculous!

Tobey: The same sparkling smile, the same ruby lips, the same—[He pauses very briefly, catching himself] I realized I’ve said too much.

[There is an awkward moment of silence.]

At one point, Tobey suspected Becky was WordGirl because they shared many common traits.

Of those traits, Tobey admits to believing Becky has a sparkling smile, and ruby lips.

From this information, it’s safe to assume that Tobey, while having a crush on WordGirl, also has one on Becky.

To the surprise of no one.

Butcher: Put her there!

[Chuck proceeds to make several attempts at high-fiving Butcher, only to end up falling, face first, onto the floor]

Butcher: You’re not good at this.

Chuck, like Leslie, isn’t good with high fives.

Scoops: Someday I’m going to work for the top newspaper in the country, a paper that’s super, um—

Becky: Impressive?

Scoops: Right. Impressive.

Scoops: Today roving writer for “The Daily Rag,” tomorrow ace reporter for “The Big City Times.”

Scoops wants to work for the Big City Times when he gets older.

Also, the top newspaper in the country is “The Big City Times.”

Chuck: L-let me see something.

Chuck: Rob store. Did that. Laugh in triumph. That happened. Battle WordGirl at scene of crime.

Chuck: Well, now I can at least check number four off my list.

Chuck has a list of what needs to be done when he commits a crime.

Chuck: Here I am, WordGirl. Here I am!

WordGirl: Hold it right there, Chuck!

Chuck: WordGirl, finally. Here you are. Thank goodness. I’ve been a nervous wreck worrying about you.

WordGirl: You’ve been worrying about me?

Chuck: Yes, I’ve been worrying about you.

Despite Chuck disliking WordGirl, he does worry about her when she fails to show up to stop several crimes he had committed.

Question: where did the habit of calling the unnamed henchman of DTB "meatloaf" come from? Its so funny to me! Where did that originate?

“Meatloaf”: So, if my mom’s meatloaf is delicious, but it’s not dinnertime yet, I might say it smells tantalizing?

Dr. Two-Brains: Hey, Meatloaf, give me a hand here.

Dr. Two-Brains had called him "Meatloaf,” after he mentioned his mom’s meatloaf in Kids Action News.

On the fandom Wiki page, it also mentions that the name was never intended to stick, as it was only ever used once.

Personally, I’ve always thought he looked like a Daniel, so that’s what my friends and I refer to him as whenever we discuss the show.

Dr. Two-Brains: Do either of you use hair gel?

[“Meatloaf” proceeds to remove his red hat and reveal is hair.]

“Meatloaf” uses hair gel.

Butcher: Oh, well, so I was making this chart the other day of all the other villains I’d teamed up with.

Butcher has teamed up with Dr. Two-Brains, Lil’ Mittens, Kid Potato, Dupey (one of Lady Redundant Woman’s copies), Reginald, and The Baker and Candlestick Maker.

Also, something to note, Reginald isn’t actually a villian. The same goes for The Baker and Candlestick Maker.

Dr. Two-Brains, singing: Figaro! Zap me now!

“Meatloaf”: I can’t, boss. Your voice, it’s too beautiful.

Dr. Two-Brains can sing.

Tim: If your mother asks, I’ll be at the tie store, trying to replace Murray.

Narrator: Murray?

Becky: He names all his ties. It’s strange.

Tim Botsford names his ties.

Bonus:

Tim’s favorite tie is blue, with various different colored smiley faces on it.

At one point, Becky and Bob decided to bedazzle their superhero outfits.

Tobey: I beg your pardon?

TJ: Peas. WordGirl’s favorite food is peas.

WordGirl/Becky’s favorite food is peas.

TJ: Wow. I thought I was the only one that had a favorite water fountain.

TJ has a favorite water fountain at the park.
