The concept of Astrid and Eadwulf calling Essek slurs and lowkey hazing his ass in the lab only for him to get pseudo married to their ex third (that of course they’re still in love with) and live in a little cottage with him and adopt a few cats WHILE said third is actively their coworker at the very school they trauma bonded and fell in love in decades ago. AND THEN he shows up at Astrid’s side gig book store job and embarrasses the shit out of her with his interns, specifically being like “my partner, your ex, says hi. :).” Insane play by Essek Thelyss, king of being petty and never letting go of anything ever.

To be fair, and to my other post on speculation, I do suspect that Deirta suffering from typhros was either in far earlier stages and therefore not something that he was personally managing to the same effect that he is here, or, what I feel is more likely, one of several possible backstories that may have been introduced if it came up or was relevant, but ultimately ended up not being and was therefore discarded. Schrodinger's Madwoman in the Attic, as it were.

Robbie tries to romance Liam, yet again

Essek approaching Vox Machina, heroes of legend. They don't know who he is. Even if they did know he was Essek and not Seth, they still wouldn't know why he needs to know that the Nein are safe. They don't know they're his family, that one of them is his partner. I'm fond of them, is all he can say.

He introduces them to his brother. His sweet baby brother, the only member of his blood family he truly loves. Verin, who's going off into hell (just like their father did) - but maybe, if these heroes know him, they might help him, they might protect him. Verin is far from the Beacons here; he has no second chance if he goes down.

Essek who once said, 'I haven't cared about anyone for the century I've been alive.' Essek, now aching with love, so much that he'll grasp at anything that could reassure him that his family are safe. Essek, having to let them all go: friends, brother, Caleb.

It was so much easier, back when he didn't care.

I admit, my heart started fluttering all through the conversation between Dorian and Orym. So sweet and soft and honest and both characters NEEDED this. Orym knows what he's feeling, but it's been YEARS and he's so scared of doing something wrong. And Dorian flat out said that he's never been in love, so he doesn't know WHAT he's feeling, but he is feeling it SO DAMN STRONG. The pure adoration and respect and affection that goes between the two of them, UGH.

I love them. T_T

i literally am just thinking about how aabria reblogged my post saying the exu girls were in our corner and aimee quote retweeted me when i thanked her for having deni$e shake orym saying she tried for us and sams mom liking the clip i posted of when orym went over to dorian to lean on him and liam liking the screenshot of the battle map with dorian and orym facing opal down. i've been praying for times like these since the december of the year campaign three started. this is so crazy.

oh I meant to like actually report what was said but then I like fell asleep immediately and I didn't even think of it until I checked my notifications and saw @criticalrill and @mountainsboyhowdy reply to my post

so fwiw I phrased the question a bit differently to Taliesin and Liam based on the vibe of the conversation I was having with them

To Taliesin - Question was asked: "So. Orym and Ashton. What the fuck is up with that?"

Taliesin's Repsonse: Ashton was/is into Orym but realized like they were so damaged and felt it wasn’t fair to Orym to be with them until they dealt with their shit AND ALSO soft touches hurt but firm touches don’t so they are also unsure if Orym could handle that all the time. To which I said, “Orym has two hands is all I’m saying” and Taliesin laughed and said that was true.

-- To Liam - Question was asked: "You’ve spoken about how Dorian has been really crucial to Orym’s healing process, but it did seem like Orym was willing to playfully test the edges of those boundaries with Ashton for awhile too?” Liam's response: By the time things had really gotten rolling with Ashton, Orym realized he’d really fallen for Dorian hard to which I said "and what's not to love about Dorian?" which Liam repeated.

(I meant to say to Liam that Orym had two hands but Liam was so grateful that I'd made him a bracelet with Sprigg's coloring on it that he put it on right in front of me and said it was wonderful and special and I was so overwhelmed in that moment because when I'd started making bracelets for the cast, that was the first one I made so I was so happy Liam liked it.) -- So key Ashrym takeaways - We did not imagine it! There was a mutual attraction that was there at least for a little while and definitely is still there on Ashton's end actively if I'm interpreting what Taliesin said correctly whereas Orym's attractions might be a little more singularly focused on Dorian right now -Ashton likes to be manhandled both in and out of sex (Taliesin asked if they could demonstrate the pressure level on my arm and when I consented, he did. It was nice, it relieved the pain I normally feel in my forearms) -Dashrym or poly Orym who is dating both Ashton and Dorian (but Ash and Dorian are not dating each other) would not necessarily be out of the cards or unreasonable, especially in a post-campaign fic setting

OBSESSED with how FAST the emotional distance expanded between Dorian and his father between those two gestures, going SO quickly from the both of them hugging so tightly and tearily and then a very formal handshake, truly just amazing and great
