So, what exactly possessed you to make this shithole of a blog?
what exactly possessed you to be a shithole of a person?
Hi! Would it be considered problematic using a non-jewish fc for a jewish character? I talked about it with a couple of friends, but we couldn't really figure it out.
Depends if you mean the religion or the ethnicity, if religion then thatâs fine, if ethnicity, use an appropriate jewish FC
this is probably going to sound problematic but honestly if we have to start matching white people to their various european ancestry i'm gonna scream. i normally play white fcs and i always use their ancestry to decide last names, traditions, etc.. but as a white person, when people ask me what my race is i dont say "my mother is scottish, irish, and 1/16 cherokee and my dad is german and dutch" or whatever i just say i'm white. its too much lol

ANONYMOUS ASKED: Hello! Could you help me finding actresses that could portray Shay Mitchell little sister? Thank you Hello! Here you go some that may work for you
Alice Greczyn, Nicole Gale Anderson, Hailee Steinfeld, Chloe Bennet, Kelsey Chow, Samantha Boscarino, Seychelle Gabriel.
Explanation:
She is matching in her rph poc just because they look the same, like Shay and Chloe, the first one is part Philipino and the second is part chinese.
This is just an example, but there's plenty of this in her rph. She is so disrespecful.
Lol people keep using Rob Raco as latino charcters although he's fckn italian
Ethnicelebs confirms that Rob Raco is Italian, check the ethnicities people!
so there's basically this site i saw advertised that is animation personified k-pop. idk about you, but it kind of rattles me? i feel like they're going to use all korean faces for canons that are not, indeed, korean
If theyâre not using Korean FCs for K-Pop people then thatâs wrong as different East Asian people arenât synonymous. However, I have heard some members of K-Pop groups (or maybe it was J-Pop, itâs not one of the things Iâm into but my close friend is) arenât Korean but they usually are.
Forgive me, I don't know who else to ask about this...I have a non-humanoid alien muse who takes a human-like form around civilians. Their skin color in true-form is hematite-colored/dark gray, and I wondered what I should do about their 'human' complexion. I had thought at first to have them imitate a Black teammate who is from Brazil, but now I'm afraid that would be insulting and gross.
Using a PoC as an alien does make the PoC exotic and using a white FC is under-representing PoC in the rpc. So honestly thereâs no answer to this but since you say the skin colour is dark grey, use someone who has the same shade if the picture was black and white or whoever has similar features to the alien. Maybe the alien changes their appearance to whatever is common to their surroundings so if theyâre in a white majority country but in contact with mostly black people then Iâd say use a black FC. It also depends on where they got there information on how humans look because that would change their perception. I think thatâs more important for your character.
tbh, like, i don't even see any mafia latinx, just italian ones. but as a non-white latinx, i would like to clarify that there are a lot of white latinx in real life, especially in argentina and brazil. being a latinx isn't related to skin colour. however, people use that as an excuse to use as many white latinx characters as they can, and that is unacceptable, and it makes me feel angry. as of recent, i've seen a lot of poc latinx, which makes me happy. but, maybe that's just in my rp circle.
Not to create discourse, but by that same logic (about having to cast animated fcs according to the ethnicity of the people who voice them) then, Korra from Legend of Korra would have to have as FC a white person, even though the character is a POC, because the girl who voiced her is a white woman. I don't think that's right; there are characters of color voiced by white people and viceversa. Character and voice actor are not the same thing.
I know character and voice character arenât the same thing but when itâs not mentioned or coded, it makes it easier to figure out who they are trying to portray. Itâs like, if you donât know what ethnicity a character is you go by the actorâs ethnicity. If people donât like it then they donât have to use that method and itâs not a hard-fast rule.
Is it problematic to use a Mexican fc as a sibling to a Cuban fc? I assume so, but a latinx friend is the one casting the sibling and says itâs okay.
Mexicans and Cubans are white but I believe theyâre both of ethnocultural identity and because of this Iâd say itâs preferable not to but not technically wrong.
can i used the last name shinora on a white character? the last name shinora doesnât have an ethnicity or anything know, but it sounds similar to shinohara what i think is a japanese last name, and maybe it will sound prolematic to other people
Iâm not Japanese or any type of East Asian so with this, Iâd first ask yourself, why do you want to give that character that name? Is it because they come from Japan? Did they marry into a Japanese family? Is it because it sounds âexoticâ and will make your character different? There has to be a connection because even in European languages, you donât usually find the letters shino together because thatâs not a regular sound we have, itâs usually shi- and then a consonant and thatâs it.Since itâs similar to Japanese, I would say no to be on the safe side. If anyone that is East Asian and/or Japanese would like to weigh in, or even if youâre into linguistics and can confirm my suspicions about European languages, that would be great!
i saw your reply to someone's question. "If you do decide to write a black character, you will get a lot of things wrong, and people are going to be mad at you but youâve just got to accept what people are saying and ask how to fix it and then do that." i don't think people are going to let anyone 'fix' what they did wrong. on tumblr u make one mistake and people will do everything in their power to paint u as evil and despicable and drive u off of the page and out of the rpc.
I had that experience but that just means youâre around the wrong people. As long as you actually improve itâs fine, you might lose followers but people also have to remember than people are learning and will get things wrong in that process. Itâs not right to, in your words, âpaint [someone] as evil and despicableâ unless theyâre doing horrible things, know itâs wrong and wonât change, because then thatâs what they are and theyâre not just being painted as it.As long as you apologise and improve then people will see that in your actions no matter what others say
Is it problematic casting a fc from within the binary for a non-binary character?
Ideal answer: yes, but since thereâs a huge lack of resources you can use a binary fc but only if you have exhausted all the non-binary fc resources and always keep on the look out for more that may match your character. Using a binary fc for a non-binary character is a last resort
it's incredibly difficult to find fc's with multiple ethnicities that much, simply because the world is diverse. i completely understand why racebending and whitewashing isn't condonable, but isn't a bit strict to restrict a writer from using a certain fc due to ethnic reasons. i'm not trying to be difficult. i'm just curious. for instance, i have a character with a biological sibling in mind, yet the fc for that sibling doesn't match the same ethnicity.
It is difficult but thatâs because hollywood uses mostly white people and therefore thereâs not many resources but we can be better than that and use better casting for our characters.
If the sibling fc you have in mind doesnât match the characterâs ethnicity, donât use them.
This has been something that's been kind of bothering me. Would using black fcs with different ethnicities as family be considered problematic? (Say, using Idris Elba and John Boyega as father and son) On one hand, they are both black, but from different African countries and the argument could be made that it makes Africa seem like one big country as opposed to incredibly multiethnic. And would the same thing apply to African-American and African fcs?
Yes it is problematic, people from different African countries are not interchangeable and Africa is a continent not a country, no matter what the Western world makes it âseemâ like.Yes the same thing applies to African-American fcs.
I'm hoping you can help me out with a dilemma I'm having. I used to use Colton Haynes as a FC, but when I heard about him doing blackface/brown face multiple times I stopped playing him. Since, I've heard that he has apologized, and seemingly changed. Now, the RP i played him in is being revamped and brought back, so I was basically wondering if it'd be problematic to use him as a FC given what he's done?? I read somewhere that as long as you recognize that what he did is wrong and state (TBC)
that you don't in anyway support or condone using blackface that it should be okay. What's your opinion? Should use of characters who have appropriated other cultures or used black/brown face be banned from the community?
You should not use people who have used black or brown face as an FC. The recognising what someone did wrong and not supporting that is more for consuming the content they produce. E.g. (using Colton as an example) watching the series of Teen Wolf that Colton is in is okay as long as you identify and donât support what heâs done but watching anything new of his is not okay.Â
To be honest, his apology wasnât a good enough since he apologised for offending people (so he was apologising for people getting offended) rather than apologising because what he did was wrong, whether people got offended by it or not, even though he seems sincere in his apology, and the apology was 4 years ago but I donât know if he has done it again or not but I digress.Â
Since he used black face and anyone else that does the same, I wouldnât use them until they show they have changed through supporting the black community.
it pisses me off so much that people use caucasian as a synonym for white. no, caucasian food is not bland, and yes there is caucasian culture, look it up, ppl from the caucasus (west asia) are caucasian, no one else, so keep in mind everytime u use the word caucasian u are being racist and ignorant for stealing our word, and insulting our culture/food/ppl, even though its not directly aimed at them. u are erasing us which is pretty problematic
