"Hi, I’m Captain Jack Harkness, and I think it’s time we blew this joint," he said to the coruscating cloud of yellow and pink.  He threw one arm around what might be a shoulder-equivalent and used the other to detonate a small explosive located strategically beneath an enemy ambush.  It produced a satisfying ball of flame, so he grinned and winked at the whatever-it-was, which turned pinker and vibrated a little.  "And you are?"

Twenty meters away Carmela narrowed her eyes and turned on the hairdryer function on her curling iron.  She shook out her long locks and turned the dryer so they fanned attractively out behind her.  ”Hey there pal,” she purred at the alien in front of her, which appeared to have retreated inside some kind of shell for protection, “These explosions are really cramping my style.  Wanna take it somewhere a little more private?”  An eye on a stalk poked out of a small crack in the shell, so she turned on her best mega-watt smile, “I’ve got a fast ship, a curling iron, and a permanent gating function.  Whaddaya say?”

Big spoon/little spoon: You’d think it’d be Roshaun, since he’s both very tall (freakin’ bisho anime prince) and bossy, but no. No. Dairine is grabby.

Favorite non-sexual activity: Honestly I can’t imagine them having sexual activities? Since they’re both quite young. But uh, besides wizardry? Arguing.

Who uses all the hot water: Roshaun. Dairine is baffled by this until she sees how many hair care products Roshaun has.

Most trivial thing they fight over: Whether or not Roshaun needs that many hair care products.

Who does most of the cleaning: Dairine, when she remembers to.

What has a season pass on their dvr/who controls the netflix queue: Dairine always has the remote, because Roshaun’s never had television before and he gets carried away.

Who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Neither. They can fix it themselves most of the time with wizardry.

Who steals the blankets: Dairine. I mean, neither one of them is used to sharing a bed, but I’ve always figured that Dair moves around a lot in her sleep, inevitably getting tangled up.

Who leaves their stuff around: Roshaun. He’s used to having servants to pick up after him. Not that Dairine’s much better.

Who remembers to buy the milk: Dairine. Servants again.

Who remembers anniversaries: Here they’re actually pretty even; they both forget about fifty percent of the time.

Let’s not be unreasonable about the hair, shall we? The Sunlord is expected to look presentable, and proper hairstyling is an integral part of one’s personal appearance. I do not even go in for styles as elaborate as those sported by certain of my predecessors, or else I would take much longer.

Found! 3 Super-Earth Planets That Could Support Alien Life

The habitable zone of a nearby star is filled to the brim with planets that could support alien life, scientists announced today (June 25).

An international team of scientists found a record-breaking three potentially habitable planets around the star Gliese 667C, a star 22 light-years from Earth that is orbited by at least six planets, and possibly as many as seven, researchers said. The three planet contenders for alien life are in the star’s “habitable zone” — the temperature region around the star where liquid water could exist. Gliese 667C is part of a three-star system, so the planets could see three suns in their daytime skies.

IT WAS AN EXPERIMENT!  And I got it approved.  Sort of.  I mean, nobody actually told me I couldn’t do it, and I totally told Tom and Carl what I was planning.  Well, I mentioned it.  To Annie.  But the koi said it was okay, I think!
