“That is pretty diabolical, even for pirates.”
“It’s a nice place if you don’t mind some structural problems and water damage.”
“We need to be prepared if they show up.”
“After everything, you’re really asking me that?”
“How am I? I’m wet again, tired, bruised, a little hungry. I could eat. Other than that I’m me.”
“You make a great counterweight.”
“I’ll choose to take that as a compliment.”
“I’m no forensics expert but I would say.. bad drinks?”

i just like to get my ducks in a row.
don’t you get lonely?
i read that sunshine makes you, like, horny.
i feel like baking something.
you have a nice life, don’t you?
this is a fine way to spend a rainy day.
you’re a very brave girl.
i’m not afraid. i get that from you.
let’s try to have fun. it’s you and me. we know how to have a good time.

you’re my bright and shining light.

you don’t have to convince me.
i want my mother to be here.
you sure you’ll be all right by yourself?
maybe i’ll read to you. would you like that?
it’s not the life i bargained for.

people know of you, but do they know you?
'absolute honesty' sounds like 'total crap', to me.
i do wonder what you've all heard about me.
i am just, in general, very hurt.
i know people don't like me.

i wouldn't waste a lot of time trying to figure out who believes you.
i was too tired to be afraid; or else, i was afraid all the time.

thanks, mom, but i can take care of myself.
it's funny, how they can doubt you and blame you in the same breath.
you're always involved in some weirdo catastrophe.
it's easier to see the big picture when you're not involved.
it's easy to pretend you're too cool for something when you already have it.

it's not so bad, kid. come out here and talk to me.

if you touch him and he bites you pls just forgive him
CURRENT ARC :: RAPHAEL ; GOD HAS HEALED .
----- . . . -----
Rafe Adler survives the shipwreck of the Gunsway . He was healed by the best doctors and therapists his money could afford . He was wounded . He was damaged . But he was breathing . The truth about what happened was hidden behind the cover of a freak accident on the sea during an expedition . They said he should be thankful . He was reported missing for months . People said it was a miracle . They call him a survivor . That was funny . He thought survivors would always come back safe , come back whole . Something inside him died and drowned together with that ship .
2018 . A YEAR AFTER THE EVENTS IN LIBERTALIA .
Raphael Adler died in the shipwreck of the Gunsway in the seas of Liberalia . Although his men has fished his body from the water , although doctors healed his broken body , and although he answers everyone with a nod and smile , Raphael Adler died in that shipwreck . What is he now ? A ghost ? A shell of a ruined man with a lethal ambition ? He looks at himself in a mirror and he sees the scar that runs through his face . Once a beautiful face . And he could feel it burn , as if the molten gold was still fresh and still sizzling on his face . Never look in mirrors again , he told himself .
Raphael Adler died in the shipwreck of the Gunsway in the seas of Liberalia . And the man that remains was sustained only by a ruthless cold and an empty desire to find some sort of redemption . Self punishing . Self destructing . He’s friendless and without purpose . He decided , then . He left his role in his family’s company to fully pursue the life of a treasure hunter . And with his own fortune , he would scour the world for something to fill the void Avery’s Treasure left inside himself . He will redeem himself from his death on that ship , even if it kills him again .
SUMMARY .
The arc follows the events following A Thief’s End . Rafe survives the shipwreck of the Gunsway . He was heavily wounded and was on the brink of death , but was healed .
The search for Avery’s treasure was Rafe’s only goal , and being the only person to discover the treasure was all he wanted . When he lost that , he fully focuses his entire life on treasure hunting again . He looks for something to fill the void left by that failure . Some sort of redemption .
In this arc , there are changes in his personality . He’s a lot more reckless , a lot more ruthless , a lot colder than what he was before . But he is a lot more vulnerable . He is a broken remnant of his old self , handle him with care .
NOTES .
This is not yet set in stone . This is still a developing arc and there might be changes to it in the future .
I will still write in arcs prior to this one . Just give me a head’s up!
