Intro Post for Max Winters

There were legends in the Borderlands; stories of a mysterious, silent, armed player that showed up at every single game. Having been speculated to be the very first player in the Borderlands, the amount of days on his Visa were unknown, because he rarely ever used them. No one knew for certain how many cards he had in his possession, but if a single player were able to collect them all, it would be him.
Max Winters, an American Economics professor that teaches game theory, was taking a trip with his class and coworker to Shibuya when the comet hit. Trapped in the Borderlands with his fellow teacher, as well as his own daughter, Katelyn, Max survived as many games as possible, while also forcing Katelyn to use as many visa days as she could. Max has an innate ability to guess games and their setups, simply by analyzing the arena, making it easy for him to know which games he could survive, and how to win.
It wasn't until a nine of hearts game, one he was certain of which would result in a sole survivor, where he was forced to face the reality that he and his daughter could not survive together forever. Sacrificing herself to save his life, Katelyn willing perished to help Max win the game. She asked her father to live, to tell her friends what happened, and that alone is his reason for surviving in these games.
Until he is kidnapped by a group of militants and brought to the Beach, where he meets Hinata; a boy whose personality reminds him so much of his daughter. Protecting Hinata, and getting him home, that is what drives Max now. That, and his need to protect any young person forced into the Borderlands.
Game specialty: Diamonds and Spades.
