A Mile In My Shoes

Making this film incorporated a lot of things that are close to me. The whole purpose is to highlight that who you are is not defined by who you were 10 years ago, but rather who you leave this Earth as. As mentioned, this semester was one of the most difficult semesters because I became pregnant. My life was not like a “16 and Pregnant” tv show, especially since I am much older than 16 and out of high school. I used a combination of different videos and pictures I have from growing up to give an insight on what it’s like to be me growing up. Being pregnant on a college campus was definitely something worth documenting considering it was my first time experiencing something like this. My hopes are that maybe me becoming pregnant and having the courage and strength to remain on campus, I can potentially inspire someone else who is going through something similar.

Donald Trump Creates Celebratory GOP “Rap” Album

 As of late May 4, 2016, John Kasich has officially dropped out of the presidential race. After trailing the entire duration of the presidential race, he has finally decided to call it quits. “I think it’s best if I channel all of my energy into spending time with my family back in Ohio” Kasich says. It was safe to say that we all anticipated John Kasich dropping out a long time ago after trailing by hundreds of points to Ted Cruz and almost thousands of points by Donald Trump. With only 1,237 delegates needed for nomination, Donald Trump becomes the presumed Republican presidential nominee. Most Republican politicians are surprised by Trump’s success, but the biggest surprise came from Trump himself. “Honestly, I don’t know how I did it. If anything, I’m just as surprised as the rest of the nation. I think at this point, the only thing surprise I have up my sleeve is to release my rap album in celebration.” commented Trump.

While, many took light to his remarks, rumors have been spreading the last several months that Donald Trump has been working with Producer/Songwriter Kanye West. Originally, sources thought the two were close because Kim Kardashian and Ivanka Trump both signed a deal with Balmain this past summer. However, Kanye West confirmed that he has been producing beats for Donald Trump to create his debut album. He even has created the alias “T Money”, and allegedly has book tour dates in corresponding towns with his presidential campaign. While we’re unsure if Donald Trump will actually release music, one thing is for certain. This presidential campaign has proven to be a historic one for sure.

Another day, another dollar

I chose to make this meme because as I’ve mentioned before, I love humor that I can relate to (and I’m sure the rest of the class can as well). We pay a few hundred for a meal plan that we can’t dictate how we use it. There are so many rules for how we eat, when we eat, how much each swipe is worth, ect.

College got me like

So I chose to search #CollegeProbs because I really enjoy humor that I can relate to. This particular meme I’m pretty sure speaks for the majority of students. I have two jobs and somehow I’m still broke after paying for rent and I’m pretty sure the majority of my money goes to food. This particular meme utilizes a well known show and the tone is full of realism. What I mean by that is it’s not exactly sarcasm because we’re expected to pay for all of these things while in school with no money. Sometimes you actually do only have $3, I’ve been there before.  College memes are so funny because there are so many different aspects of college to relate to. The meme with Nicki Minaj is funny because for whatever reason even though we all are pretty much struggling to do well, have money, and not starve we think somehow we’re above the next person. That’s pretty ironic considering whatever makes the next person basic could most likely apply to yourself. The gif with the doll is also funny (outside of the fact that it spontaneously caught on fire) because a lot of time when we’re out with friends or having fun we forget about the many responsibilities we have. You tend to think about all the assignments and exams you have coming up either when you’re having fun or right as you finish having fun to completely ruin your mood.
