I've never got the hype around Taylor swift shes like the plain toasted white bread of music its fine but theres better options if you want some . Her newest album was just so basic like wow the bar just sank further into hell . I dont like swifties because of an experience ive had and also they act like a cult sometimes its frighting.

I used to be a Swiftie, so I know how crazy they can be. To be fair, I was never an unhinged Swiftie; I just liked her music/went to Eras/watched some interviews. But I did fall into the pitfall of trying to defend her online semi frequently, and a point came where I realized that if a person required THAT much defending on THAT frequent a basis, they probably were not worth defending.

Since then, I've developed a lot of clarity surrounding her. She used to be an okay person - probably my most unpopular anti take - but she has also benefitted from a lot of privilege and did NOT pave her own path. Most of her music is mid, though I'll admit a personal affinity for some TTPD songs that I've blorboswatched to other characters. Her voice is insanely bad and she can't really sing without autotune, as evidenced by her live performances where she is ALWAYS flat.

She also really has nothing to say. I usually can kind of separate art and artist (e.g. I still listen to We the Kings sometimes despite them being kind of awful men.) But Taylor's stuff is almost exclusively her own lore, and her most recent albums is a stunning example of that. She's become such a narcissistic egomaniac that she's incapable of writing about experiences outside her own.... and her own experiences are "boo hoo poor me I have brand name merchandise and yachts but men leave me." Not relatable, and very tone deaf in a world where most people can't afford food and housing.
