Welp.
(For those unfamiliar with Abby, her wiki.)
Having a normal sex life + not having 19 kids like Ma Duggar = "the height of flippancy."
Doesn't seem very pro-life to me.Â
One of two fake abortion clinics on the same street as the REAL center, the EMWâs Women Center here in downtown Louisville. This one is right next door to the actual clinic and this place is seriously a nightmarish hell-hole for any unsuspecting women tricked by the antiâs. They assure you this this the abortion clinic, they get you inside, and then offer you food and drinkâwhich of course, means that once you realize your mistake, you canât run next door and catch your actual appointment, since you need to fast.
Women have come out of this building crying, and on a few rare occasions, without their pants. They take you to a back room for an ultrasound, have you remove your pants, and then begin lecturing you on the sins of aborting. They do not give you back your pants until you have listened, and a few women tricked this far refused to listen and stormed out furious, ashamed, and in their underwear.
This is the anti-choice agendaâlying, tricking, shaming, and embarrassing women to the brink of hysterics in hopes that she carry the pregnancy to term. Forcing her, through lies and manipulation, to do with her body what THEY want, not what is best for her.
There is no âchoiceâ at the Louisville âWomenâs Choiceâ clinics. Just abuse, shame, and bigots who would rather undress a woman to make her feel vulnerable and then explain how awful of a person she is than let her make HER. CHOICE.
They don't like women having orgasms.
One woman I spoke to broke down crying when I told her the nearest clinic was ten hours away. I informed her that there was another group who could help arrange travel, and yet another group that existed soley to provide lodgings. It didnât matter. She couldnât take that time off work. The call ended with her saying she would find another way. She didnât mean she would go to a CPC and they would magically help her carry to term (cause they never do, the âhelpâ stops the moment you are too far along for an abortion). She meant she was going to risk her life and her health. She was going to seek out a back-alley abortion, because legislators had systematically taken away all of the clinics she could have gone to in her area a few years ago. I keep hoping this woman calls us back.
The Abortion Fairy
This is an incredible and important post about abortion funds, restrictive legislation on abortion, and the harsh realities of living in the USA right now.
[NB: more people than just cis women want and need access to abortion care.]
(via keepyourbsoutofmyuterus)
70,000 pregnant people die around the world every single year from illegal abortion. They leave behind 220,000 kids since 61% of people seeking abortions are already parents. So you've got dead parents, dead fetuses, and orphaned kids. What part of that sounds "Pro-Life" to you?

They don't like rape victims
Rebecca Kiessling's entire argument here is that rape victims who have abortions are monsters who should feel ashamed and probably don't know what's best for themselves anyway. She accuses them of unjustly inflicting cruel and unusual punishment/the death penalty against fertilized eggs, then snottily tells a rape victim who nearly died from her illegal abortion, "I am very sorry, Gloria, for the loss of your son or daughter. You may not think their life matters, but you know what? That matters to me." As for Gloria's life? Not worth a mention, apparently.

Made this today, lol.
WTF @ this guy telling a woman she's being insensitive by not feeling sad about her own miscarriage. Insensitive to whom? Herself? Pro-lifers? Baby Jesus? Who the hell knows.Â
He also tweeted "too bad your child would of had a brother or sister,"  but smartly deleted it after it was pointed out that trying to make a woman feel bad about a miscarriage is pretty fucked up.
Women = the devil
They don't like women.Â
Completely selfless
ATTENTION LADIES: Like taking the occasional moment for yourself? Maybe reading a book or watching a favorite TV show? Enjoy making decisions for yourself once in a while? Well, don't bother with @Toupsfamily, because only women who are completely selfless get him going. Try not to cry yourself to sleep tonight over this tragic loss.
I've never had an abortion, but that's not good enough for pro-lifers! Even responsibly using birth control to prevent pregnancy is OMG ABORSHUN & MURDER in their wackydoodle world. Yeah. Use birth control, like 99% of women? MURDERARRR!! These are not people who need to be making laws for the rest of us.
And for the record: IUDs work by destroying sperm & egg cells before conception. One study found that women using no birth control conceived in up to 57% of cycles, while women using IUDs conceived in 0.9% of cycles. In other words: IUDs are so good at killing sperm, a woman using one can go 100 months without ever conceiving, while a sexually active woman using no birth control can conceive and flush out an embryo in her menstrual flow every other month.
If pro-lifers were honestly worried about embryos, they'd support IUD use. (Hell, all birth control use.) But they're more concerned with restricting women's rights and opportunities in life. All that stuff about "babies" and "killing" is bullshit.
Mississippi State Representative Bubba Carpenter, speaking to the Alcorn County GOP on Thursday, said as much:
âWe have literally stopped abortion in the state of Mississippi. Three blocks from the Capitol sits the only abortion clinic in the state of Mississippi. A bill was drafted. It said, if you would perform an abortion in the state of Mississippi, you must be a certified OB/GYN and you must have admitting privileges to a hospital. Anybody here in the medical field knows how hard it is to get admitting privileges to a hospitalâŠ
âItâs going to be challenged, of course, in the Supreme Court and all â but literally, we stopped abortion in the state of Mississippi, legally, without having toâ Roe vs. Wade. So weâve done that. I was proud of it. The governor signed it into law. And of course, there you have the other side. Theyâre like, âWell, the poor pitiful women that canât afford to go out of state are just going to start doing them at home with a coat hanger. Thatâs what weâve learned over and over and over.â
âBut hey, you have to have moral values. You have to start somewhere, and thatâs what weâve decided to do. This became law and the governor signed it, and I think for one time, we were first in the nation in the state of Mississippi.â
Garland Grey recently wrote:
I think one of the most important things we could do is to continually find ways to make pro-choice people proud and forthright about their beliefs, to puff them up with moral superiority and FACTS and send them out into the world with the conviction that abortion isnât shameful, not even a little, that supporting abortion is not merely the right thing to do but opposing abortion is morally obscene, and that anyone who questions these two premises is more invested in self-righteousness than they are in human lives. I think if we could drain the residual shame from the movement and create activists who arenât simply pro-choice but who understand that being âpro-lifeâ is a symptom of not knowing what the fuck youâre talking about and not giving a damn as long as you can think of yourself as morally superior, we could move this fight toward a decisive victory.
What Bubba Carpenter says here, that it doesnât matter if people seeking abortions die because forcing people into unsafe abortions is a winning MORAL position, shows how completely morally-corrupt the anti-choice position actually is. Bubba Carpenter is âpro-lifeâ, via Garlandâs on-spot definition, because he doesnât give a damn about any actual people. Carpenter sees himself as morally superior to every person who has gotten an abortion or will ever get one. Itâs hard to see the humanity in others when you are looking down at them from so far up on high.Â
Bubba Carpenter and the âmoralityâ that he represents are truly disgusting. And there is nothing - NOTHING - pro-life about it.
Because multiracial, unwed, low-income births are totally unheard-of nowadays, dontchaknow!
This is such an excellent example of pro-lifers projecting their own racism & sexism on to everyone. I mean, really. "In today's society?"
I watched a multiracial, unwed, low-income birth on MTV last night, for fuck's sake!
