WRONG. you have to kiss the belly button. with tongue
I think my main takeaway from that hateful screed is that i will forever feel extra shame about forgetting to rinse out my tea mugs and watching my gf do it for me
any point that might've been buried in there was so completely obscured by palpable seething hatred for a specific ex projected onto disabled trans women (called "puppygirls" to invoke the spectre of the degenerate) as a class as to be irrelevant to the text.
to say that she is conflating the terms "weaponized incompetence" and "learned helplessness" is overly charitable in my view. she is not misusing the term weaponized incompetence. she is very deliberately accusing disabled trans women of just pretending and incredibly directly relating them to employed abled men manipulating their female partners.
and I should clarify, I think I have the correct takeaway from the article. in my opinion the overall goal is to achieve catharsis by hurting those disgusting useless male-socialized bitches back. probably felt real fucking good for her too
I think the moment in Frostpunk 2 where you have to decide weather you want to try defeating the frost or adapting to it is really interesting.
Because on one hand, adapting is the obvious choice. There’s no way brute forcing a warm climate in New London is at all sustainable. It’s hubris plain and simple.
But on the other hand, the visual of the tree is so powerful. It’s right there- green. A real actual tree growing despite the new environment. The only green in the game. You can have it again. You can have the old world back. Who wouldn’t be enticed by that possibility.
Two hundred dead, eleven achievements, another storm on its way with the generator just spooling up, and there's serious civil unrest getting in the way of group survival due to that greatest of indignities, soup.
To be fair, I think I would start acting irrationally too if I came off a double shift in the accident factory when it's seventy below outside and came home to a bowl of boiled whatever
Bone shattering cold and food shortages has the population describing me as “An enthusiastic proponent of coal based youth enrichment”
so far my favorite thing about frostpunk is that it makes you make actually hard decisions. its not like Choose to be a Hero or a Villain - the default "choices matter" setting. the game also doesnt read into your decisions karmically/morally since events are random. it's more like, do you want to let fifty new people in to your city, saving their lives, or do you want to save your scarce resources for the people already there? the weight of that decision isn't a moral one, but a gameplay mechanic, since letting people in means building houses, generating more coal and food, but they can also fill unoccupied workspaces - so do you want to gamble on being prudent enough to accommodate a broadening workforce or do you want to play it safe? adding the moral roleplaying on top just enhances the experience.
Man, I love Frostpunk (2).
Are you sure this was justified even under these literally apocalyptic nightmare conditions?
Are you sure that sacrificing everyone's humanity was worth the slim chance of saving the human race?
Are you sure these sacrifices are for the greater good?
It doesn't answer these questions. It just asks them. And then leaves you alone to ponder.

stop using caucasian to mean white. you want to invoke scientific neutrality in your speech, and your closest referent for that is usa government surveys. in reality, you sound like a skull-measuring racialist
you have this superpower! BUT you have this side-effect
is it worth it?
yes!!
the side effect is bad but ITS WORTH IT
meh it's okay
the side effect makes it unusable/not worth it
Results/option I didn't think of
this might be an allegory to something, i can't exactly place my finger on it tho
