i think it is possible to become obsessed with rebirth. to become consumed by it, to let it consume you. to become so dependent on the resplendent high of beginnings that you break yourself just to feel it again, destroy yourself just to be able to rebuild. to constantly flee from one persona to another, to live new lives as new people, to carve the old out with a scalpel so you can feel the blank slate's glow fully knowing that still, in the end, you will burn it all just to once more start anew.

but no matter what you do, it never truly goes; the people, the places, the memory, the guilt. and that's the pain of resurrection. the ghosts of the past will always haunt you, even if you avert your eyes. and then at some point you stop breaking yourself to feel the beauty of rebirth and start breaking yourself to try escape your past. but they were always one and the same, weren't they?

4. what sections of a bookstore do you browse?

im almost always going to start in the history section and orient myself from there. if im in a used bookstore though and i know they have a textbook section i do start there ngl. i love reading through really dense material. i find it so fun.

8. what is the first book you remember reading yourself?

ooooh this is hard. i think the first chapter books i remember reading were like magic tree house or this local book series called hank the cowdog. i knew the author as a kid :)

10. do you have a guilty fav?

my guilty fav is probably the atlas six by olivie blake. it’s like a just okay series but i do like that academic and magical vibe
