hi everyone! my name’s rini, and i run an aesthetic pink blog! i’ve been running this blog for a few years, and i always enjoy coming onto here to see and share alot of cute and fun pictures of things i like and find cute!

aside from running this blog and liking basically everything on sight, i also do alot of writing in my spare time. i’ve enjoyed silly hobbies like anime and manga for a while, and i’ve written a couple of stories for certain series and stuff!

i write on a website known as quotev, where alot of writers gather together and just have fun doing whatever. i go by the url [lunardelights] on there, and you can access my stories and other stuff on there!

currently, i’m working on writing a story for demon slayer/kimetsu no yaiba which is written by the very talented mangaka gotouge-sensei! and i have a very big project that i’m excited about unleashing, but i need your help!

what do you mean?

for this story, i’d like to expand on the world-building of this amazing little universe that gotouge-sensei has created and fill in some gaps in their story. to do this, i’ve also established a character recruitment project!

what is this character recruitment project?

to put this simply, i’d like it if people who would like to create characters for the demon slayer universe or already have ones they’ve made have fun and maybe join in on the fun by having me write their characters into the story and give them a chance to interact with the main cast and such!

i plan on giving full credit throughout my story to those who’s characters i’ve included for each chapter, and although i’m nowhere near talented, i’d still love to bring the community in to have some fun as well!

Okay, so I looked into this and would like to say: Please stop spread this, please stop fear-mongering over this app, and especially please don’t bog down AO3′s volunteer support folks with messages about this app.

Why?

Because from what I can tell

 AO3 already knows. They’ve known since 2015. They do not have their own version of an app and have no intention of making one of their own anytime soon. So this person isn’t stepping on their toes by making this ad that means they won’t be doing anything about it.

This is basically an ereader app for AO3. They’re not ~stealing~ your fics and selling them for profit. The app is a fancy interface for AO3. It gives you a fancy way to view the site and download fic, but it’s not actually hosting them. It’s not setting up your fic on a new site. It’s JUST allowing people a different way to view and interact with AO3.

They’re not profiting off of your fic they’re being paid for use of their interface. If people want to view ads instead of accessing AO3 ad-free on a browser, that’s their business. If they want to pay $1/month to see AO3 through a fancy skin without ads instead of using a browser that would do the same thing for free, that’s their prerogative. It makes absolutely no sense to me why anyone would WANT those things, but it’s not my business to interfere with the idiom “a fool and his money are soon parted.”

This is not to say that the app doesn’t have serious problems. The major problem I can see is that the app is completely and totally not affiliated with AO3 but gives users the option to log in- but since they are unaffiliated, this means you’re basically giving your login credentials to a third party.

So, you know. Those of you who just downloaded the app just to bitch them out and logged in to do it- the app creator potentially has your login info now. Maybe go change that on AO3 asap, and don’t use login to AO3 through this app just in case.

And if you’ve left a nasty review of this app in response to this initial post, perhaps consider taking it down or revising it with actual information (like maybe the bit about not logging in). I get being upset over the idea of someone stealing your fic to make a profit, but that’s not what is happening here, and this app creator does not deserve backlash for something they’re not even doing.

Anyway, that’s the info I could find while half-asleep at Too Early O’clock on a Sunday. Please try to be a little more judicious on what information you’re spreading and maybe ask around before spreading it, especially if it’s going to involve making extra work for the AO3 support folks who already have too much to do. There absolutely HAVE been sites found to be stealing your fics and re-hosting them elsewhere against your will. This doesn’t appear to be one of them though.

I've noticed how Tumblr seems to be dying and I don't understand why. People stoped reblogging and posting and this used to be my absolute favorite website for fun, information and general content... Is it dying because of lack of motivation caused by stealing assholes or because people aren't engaging (if this is the case, why)? This was the best place for fandoms for so long, but nothing ever happens here anymore. And I refuse to go to Twitter, because it is so fucking toxic. Help. Whyyy

Hey anon. I believe there are many factors that have contributed in people not posting as much as they used to on Tumblr. It’s either one of these factors, a mixture of two or three factors or in some cases for content creators all four factors have taken place.

Firstly, we had the censorship purge last year, where Tumblr started flagging nearly every other post as inappropriate even when half of those posts weren’t even nsfw. Many tumblr accounts don’t show up in searches anymore, even though they are still active. This is all because they post nsfw content. A lot of content creators that primarily wrote smut decided to leave Tumblr last year and many never came back.

Secondly, a lot of content creators started noticing their work being reposted on other websites. These creators were not given any credit. In fact the reposters claimed the work as their own. This happened to every kind of content creator on here. Fan made videos, fancams, photos, gifs, fanart and fanfics were all getting reposted on websites such as YouTube, Wattpad, DeviantArt, etc. Unfortunately it is happening all over again for gif makers, where their gifs are being reposted on Twitter. We’ve lost a lot and are still losing many content creators due to this issue.

Thirdly, when Tumblr originally turned from a photography and art website into a website for various fandoms, people interacted with posts a lot more. Before I became a KPOP account, I used to be a part of Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Dr. Who, Sherlock and Harry Potter fandoms. I remember that any post that was either a fanfic, gifset or fanart used to gain more reblogs than likes back then. People used to reblog every single post they enjoyed seeing on Tumblr. Content creators were used to having their posts be reblogged by followers, which automatically meant that more people saw their content. In the last 2-3 years, posts hardly get any reblogs. People tend to hit the like button and move on to the next post on their dashboard. The main reason why content creators were drawn to Tumblr in the first place, was the REBLOG button. Every time someone hits the reblog button on a post, that post gets shared to that person’s followers. In other words, new people are seeing this content. When a content creator’s followers only hit the like button, no one new sees that post. 

I’m a fanfic writer myself and I don’t even mind if people decide no to give me any feedback on my content. However, the least people can do is hit the reblog button. I have zero motivation to continue writing on Tumblr. The last chapter I posted for my fanfic Queen of Jeju ( back in April 2019) has 29 notes in total. 19 people liked that post and out of those 19 people only 3 decided to reblog it. The rest of the 7 reblogs were done by me. For a long time I kept telling myself that the reason I’m finding it so hard to post any new content is because I have writer’s block. I finally admitted to myself that the real reason I haven’t posted anything new on Tumblr since April is because hardly anyone reblogs my content. When someone likes my post, but decides not to reblog it, it makes me think that okay this person liked reading what I wrote. However, my writing wasn’t good enough to be shared with this person’s followers and that is why they never reblog my content. If my content is not good enough to be shared (reblogged), then why should I even post it in the first place.

Lastly, content creators started receiving asks and dms where people began to rudely demand for new content. Content that has always been free on this website. Gif makers started receiving asks where people demanded them to create gifs of their favourite idols at a faster pace, not realising or appreciating the fact that it takes at least 2 hours for someone to create a HD quality gif. Fanfic writers started receiving asks where people demanded updates for chaptered fics and also ‘requests’ for new fics when their account description clearly states that they are not taking requests at that time. If that wasn’t bad enough content creators started receiving asks and dms where people began to spew hate towards them because the content creator was either too slow at updating or because they didn’t create content about certain KPOP artists, ships or specific genres/themes.

If people want content creators to stay on Tumblr, then they need to treat them with kindness and respect. People also need to show content creators their appreciation, since we post content for free. We specifically take time out of our own busy lives to create content that is absolutely free to consume. In other words, content creators on Tumblr don’t get paid for their work, yet people still treat them like shit.

Only liking posts is killing the fandom community. It really doesn’t take long to leave one sentence on a post, or even reblog it!

as we move into the new year and new decade, please keep this in mind. this is not instagram. content on tumblr is not meant to be consumed, liked, and then forgotten–it is meant to be shared. it is meant to be interacted with. if you want there to continue to be content for you to consume, then you need to do your part as well. 

you need to reblog content, not simply like. 

if for some reason you’re shy about sharing certain content, this next one is still for you: you need to interact with content creators. tell them what you liked about it–it doesn’t even have to be in depth, and often, it can even be on anon, so there’s really no excuse! you may think your voice doesn’t matter, but i’m here to tell you that’s not true–we love hearing from you, and your note of encouragement is often all that keeps us going. even if your form of interaction is simply reblogging content and screaming in the tags–i love that shit, and i read every word.

you need to stop assuming you’re entitled to free content. content creators do this in their free time, often between work, or school, or family/friends responsibilities. don’t pester people for updates, don’t repost their content. tl;dr don’t be a dick.

you need to do all of these things. otherwise, content creators will leave and take their shit with them 🤷🏽‍♀️we do not enjoy working hard for days, months, only to simply toss it into a void, subsequently get literally nothing out of it, and then be expected to do it all over again. content is posted for free, and the least you can do is interact.

Here’s my Top Three posts for my writing. Keep in mind, these are the Top Three. There’s a lot of my works that have a lot less than this. People wonder why I lack in motivation and it’s simply because the numbers don’t add up- and it’s nearly impossible to predict if something I write will get as good of notes as these three, or if I only end up with 10 or 20. It’s so hard to keep writing all while not knowing if my work will even be appreciated in the end.

The ratio from likes to reblogs is insane. And it’s insane because it doesn’t need to be that way. If you want to keep seeing content, spread the content. If you like the content, spread the content. It is literally the very least you could do for something you claim to love and enjoy.

Once the door closed, your smile instantly faded and stared at the door with droopy eyes. You let out a despondent breath before treading towards the living room and plopped yourself on the couch.

It’s been four months since Sanemi began to give you a cold shoulder and would frequently arrive home when you’re already asleep. We all know that Kyoujuro does his best to be bright and energetic, and he does a really good job almost all the time 

But there are times when Kyoujuro doesn't have enough energy to be his sunshine self and fight demons at the same time 

When you both were still a new couple he would try not to show this side of himself because he felt it would only burden you 

You could still tell though due to the dark circles clouding his face and the flame in his eyes would almost be as if it were flickering

These were major red flags in your mind so you decided to take him to a quiet place away from anything pillar related and sit him down for a talk 

When you tell him it's okay to show his emotions and to vent to you it's like a dam was opened and tears just make it through his eyes and down his face 

They are tears of relief and sadness 

All of his feelings come pouring out of him and your there to hold him while he falls apart for a brief moment 

You rub circles into his back and tell him how strong he is for being able to make it this far in life and how much you love him and enjoy him being in your life and it makes him feel so much better 

To him, you being there and being such a stone to lean on only gives him a better sense of appreciation for you 

Sometimes when he comes back from a mission he is drained both physically and emotionally he is in dire need of TLC, what he’ll do is search for you and ask you if it's okay to lay with him for a while 

If you say yes, you’ll end up taking a nap with the Flame Pillar as your fingers run through his hair, his head resting near your stomach as he holds you tightly around the waist, mumbling about his problems until he falls asleep 

He no longer feels this pressure to be strong all the time and now feels as though with you by his side, he can do anything

Okay! As promised my first part of my Haganezuka Hotaru fanfic! I'm not overly content with it, but it will do. Hmmm, I wrote this in the same manner as my Rengoku fics. But after this one, I think I will change perspective, for the sake of flexibility (even though I already have some of the second part done). Anyway! Let me know what you think! What do you think of my description of Hotaru?!

The village was in a secret location, where no outsiders came in, and residents never left. The majority of its working base specialised in a craft that was no longer in use in normal society. needless to say, your little secluded world was fair for normal.

The Swordsmiths Village was essential to the Demon Slayer Corp, majority of the men crafted the swords that were wielded by the soldiers who risked life and limb from demons. For three hundred years, the village had been connected to this organisation and for the last fifty, had been keeping the tradition of swordmaking alive.

Despite its unique purpose, the village was completely functional and considerably average. When the Swordsmiths weren’t practising their craft, they worked throughout the village as merchants, farmers, labourers, teachers. The only exception was the doctor; that was a special case. It was both self-sustaining, but also looked after very well by the head family of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Down through the layers of the village, laid out a familial hierarchy. While the men worked, the women stayed home and took control of the household. The leading lady would control the finances, and was the one who maintain harmony throughout the household. Any younger female members of the family, took note of what the lady of the house did throughout her day, as well as carried out household jobs, until she was married.

The sons were considered important in passing down specialised crafts of individual families to the next generation. With a reputation to uphold, and a legacy to continue, they sought out getting results from the next generation as quickly as possible. With many boys show potential to assist their fathers in the workshop by the age of 10.

Being the youngest daughter, unlike your brothers before you, you were taught the necessities of being a woman in the village of Swordsmiths. As well as, being the daughter of the village chief. You had a particular position within the household, which also included dealing with a certain outsider. Since none of the other women wanted to deal with him directly.

Because of your fathers position within the village, it seemed like the residence was constantly busy with visitors, from local and abroad. It was custom for newly arrived visitors to pay their respects to the village head, before doing their business. Which meant you had become acquainted with the Hunters who have made the journey to the village, who have been assigned there and likewise for the Kakushi. The Kakushi were the ones you probably saw and interacted with the most. At the village, they acted more like guides and messengers, and were fairly relaxed to be around. That was, until, they had to be the bearer of bad news.

The visiting Kakushi looked nervous as you left him in the meeting room, there he would wait for your father and who was with him to arrive. That is as far as your duties took you, when formally dealing with anyone directly from the Demon Slayer Corps. The rest was in the hands of the men of the household, so in all, a woman’s role here was behind the scenes. Or the backbone of the village, has it was cheekily known as, mostly because the men would probably waste away if they were left to their own devices.

The meeting seemed to have relatively short, as the Kakushi from earlier bypassed you, as you were sweeping the genkan, brushing out any dirty outside. With their face always covered, it was hard to determine any type of facial expression from the Kakushi, but he seemed to have been relieved to leave the household, and wanted to do so quickly.

As to what kind of news he could’ve delivered to make him want to leave so quickly, came in the form of a door slamming from within the household, followed by angry footsteps and a voice calling out Hotaru’s name. “Ah … no wonder,” you muttered under your breath, it didn’t take you long to work out exactly what transpired.

With the thunderous footsteps nearing the entrance of the house, you knew better than to stand in the way of the angry swordsmith that was making his way out. Leaving the door open, and stepping out of the threshold to give him passage, it was only moments later you the mustard yellow haori flash past you, bound for the mountain by the village. Followed by one of your brothers, who stopped next to you, stopping Hotaru at this point was near impossible.

“Do I want to know?” You asked your brother, amused at his defeated body language and at Hotaru’s temper tantrum.

“Ah …” Your brother seemed a little unsure whether to disclose you the information, but decided to tell you anyway. It always seemed to go like clockwork, either way, you were bound to find out anyway. “Father got a request from a Hunter, for a new sword. They were one of Haganezuks’s clients …”

“Were?” You echoed, before letting out a deep sigh as your brother gravely nodded.

Hotaru’s rough attitude was more than enough to drive people away from and made it difficult for those who stuck around to get close. The man was extremely passionate about his craft, and anything negative that came his way, was considered to be a great insult. His passion, mixed with his attitude and short fuse, made it very difficult for him to maintain a good reputation and anyone to work with him.

Hotaru was you would describe as a man-child; an adult who never seemed to have grown out of childish temper tantrums. If something didn't go his way, he would make it known, before storming off and up the mountain. He did it back then, and he still did it now. The only object that seemed to pacify him, was the gentle chime of furin; much like how a child would suddenly forget their troubles with a simple distraction.

The swordsmith some seven years your senior, he had been raised by your father, due to one too many incidents involving his biological parents, when he was a toddler. You were unsure of the details, but how the man acted as an pre-adolescent and now adult, gave you enough clues of what could've transpired. Yet your father was able to read the man like a book, he knew the inner workings of Hotaru, which seemed entirely impossible. Because of this, your father was one of the few who could control the man-child. However, he wasn’t the only one, another swordsmith named Kanamori, seemed to have a mutual understanding on how Hotaru worked and often partnered up with him. And then there was you. For reasons unknown, you were sought out to soothe the beast, when the two swordsmiths were unavailable.
