After learning Deacon was nominated to be Tumblr Sexy-Man 2026 through the fourth wall, Chase and the keys did a photoshoot with Boris so he can look more sexy and majestic in a modest way to make some propaganda. Unfortunately, this was the only good photo they were able to take because Boris started to eat his arm two seconds after the flash. Due to the carnage, the photo op was ruined.
Chase originally had the sign say, “Vote now!” Or something silly, he hadn’t decided. But the picture spoke to him, so he decided to play into it more and just tell the truth.
Deaconnnnnnnn yesss my boi. Jason says I have an unhealthy obsession with this comic but he's DEAD WRONG AND DEACON IS THE BEST EVERYONE VOTE FOR HIM PLZ HES LOSING RN

Also super late repost of some REALLY good propaganda, this is an excellent poster. Hey OP am I allowed to print this out and put it in random places irl I think that would be fun and maybe effective. Can I have permission to do that pretty please. What wonderful propaganda great job!!!
If you want to, lol. Maybe it would help with the polls? Since we’re a bit behind on the leader boards, anything could work. But idk if it would since this is so online that it’s brainrot central. Anyways, go for it.
Deacon Hollow is akin to a fluffernutter sandwich, Chat.
His diet may consist of ramen and pizza, but his personality and vibes give fluffernutter. To understand the fluffenutter allegations, I gotta explain the man.
Out of all the Cinderella Boy cast, home boi is the most normal one. Physically, Deacon is around 5’10 at least and 5’11 at most. He has zero muscle mass besides what was given to him at birth, a chihuahua could take him in a fight. He would probably die within the first two minutes. He’s a short haired Caucasian brunette with freckles and deep blue eyes. He used to wear a white button up shirt with a deep blue school sweater over it. He had tan jeans that were folded up neatly at the bottom, revealing a pare of brown loafers with white socks (but he does wear deep blue sneakers too).
Quite a studious young lad at age twenty, as you can see. That’s because his mom chose and bought all his clothes. He was there at the store with her just to be a mannequin, he had little say in what his wardrobe looked like in all of season 1 and a majority of season 2. He was a Med Student and was on the path to be a doctor like his dad.
His life was micromanaged to the point his lunch plan was written down months in advance. He had no control over what his bedroom looked like, either. Everything was planned out like he was going off to war. From his grades, to what schools to attend, and what posters to put in his room (which was none), he was put on a set path and he felt stuck in it. Due to this, he became a planner through and through.
But despite his upbringing, he is the opposite of his parents. For one, Deacon likes reading romance novels you’d find at a grocery store or Walmart. If it had a near shirtless guy with a hot girl on it, he’d buy it. Yes, he has the taste of forty to fifty year old mother of three who’s going through another divorce.
But that’s not all, no-no-no, Deacon The Dork loves reading high fantasy as well. Especially the ones with elf girls. He also likes books like, Ready Player One and other video game related stuff. He’s probably read the Minecraft and FNAF books just for the lore. Reading is all this guy did for a hot minute. He’d fake studying for college just to read Epic Feats of Literature™️. When he was younger, our boi was a wannabe horse boy and read horsey books.
No, I didn’t stutter. Deacon loved reading horse books. It got to the point he wanted to be a horse rider, buuuuuuut horses hate his guts. He didn’t do anything, they hate him and want to eat his arm.
Beware the horsey to romance book pipeline, Chat.
To this day, horses are still his favorite animal, even tho they despise him. The only type of horse that he was able to befriend were sea horses. So, unfortunately, unicorns hate his guts. Yes, he tried, it nearly turned him and his cousin into a kabob.
Because of his love for books, Deacon is the guy who chooses them, writes down the plot-beat for beat on flashcards, and tries to get the others to follow said plot to help get through the story. Because plot twist, there’s magic in this Webtoon. The world of CB is like our own. But there’s magic hidden within it that the main character, Chase (the blond guy up above), his younger cousin actually stumbles upon in their local library. He finds a broken key in a book with instructions that state: Whatever piece of written fiction you place the key into, you can enter that book and take the place of a character. However, that character has to be the same archetype as the key. If you have the hero key, you become the hero of the story. If there is no hero in the book, you can’t enter it. There are twelve keys in total. When you enter a book, enjoy it, and complete it you get this magical teal substance called Narratonin. If you get enough of it, a jar full, you’ll get one wish. It can be whatever you want.
Chase finds the heroine key and so now plays the heroine in every book to get his wish granted. But he only has so much time to get that wish. So he goes into book after book nearly every day except Fridays to get enough Narratonin. But he doesn’t make enough.
But plot twist, the keys are sentient beings that were created by a weird cult. So now Chase and the heroine key, named Silver, team up to help the other. So now he has to find all twelve keys to not only get his wish, but to save her family. Deacon enters the chat not too long after Chase and Silver find her brother, Bronze, the helper key. In the process, Deacon becomes Bronze’s Keyholder and helps Chase out, since Chase isn’t into reading.
I’m not gonna reveal what Chase’s wish is, that’s a huge spoiler. But if you want to know, it’s not a hard gait to enter. You can binge read the comic in a day. But I can’t promise it won’t give you brainrot to the nth degree. Here’s the link if you’re curious.
Deacon doesn’t have magic, but he’s the biggest book nerd on the team. He loves books with a passion, but romance is his favorite one. He picks most of the books the team go in and tries to stick with the plots. He loves this magic book stuff a lot, it’s a dream come true for him. However, he has his gripes about being the sidekick, especially in the first season.
With that Segway, let’s go into his dynamics with the rest of the cast! :D
Deacon and Chase are cousins that are basically brothers, with Deacon being the older one by two years. He may act the oldest at times, getting on Chase’s case to focus, checking in on him, and giving him nuggies and giving him hand me downs. But in truth, Deacon acts younger than him. He follows Chase around like a lost puppy, he gets bossed around by him, and gets pep talks to stand up for himself while constantly calling him Dorken. Chase is constantly looking after him in tern. They got each other’s backs, especially when things go down. They’re so brother coded, they even mirror each other in the same episode or episodes apart. They don’t look or act much alike, but they’re brothers in spirit. Furthermore, Deacon is an LGBTQA++ Ally. He is canonically straight, but Chase is gay as hell (I’ll get into Deacon’s romance adventures in a later section, that’s its own topic). Deacon loves his cousin through and through, no matter how different they are as people and it’s shown without being said aloud.
When Deacon moved and switched schools two years before the story started, their relationship was a bit strained. They grew apart were bickering quite a bit over what to do in books and how to do it. However, throughout their adventures, they grew even closer than they were before the move, I feel. They’re basically inseparable and have one of the healthiest sibling/cousin relationships I’ve seen in a hot minute.
💬 10 🔁 50 ❤️ 295 · Born cousins, but are actually siblings.
Deacon and Bronze had a workplace relationship. They were colleagues and nothing else. Neither of them wanted to work together, but would for the sake of their families. Bronze had a bad relationship with humans in the past, and Deacon didn’t want to just be a sidekick to Chase. They weren’t hostile to each other, but they weren’t besties like Silver and Chase. And this fact showed in the outfits that Bronze made and the roles he’d pick for Deacon to swap with. One aspect of the keys that plays a major role in the story is that keys can make outfits to help their Keyholder feel immersed in the story. When you usually enter books, you would be wearing the same stuff you had on before. Wearing flip flops with shorts and a tea shirt in a fantasy world isn’t very immersive. So the keys just fairy godmother up and give their Keyholder an outfit. But only if they like them, they would never do it otherwise. Bronze would give him goofy outfit and turn him into a horse, just to troll him.
Deacon would complain about being a sidekick or minion in books because he felt like he had no control. Books were his escape from his heavily planned life, but it began to feel like another trap again. However, over time, through understanding, comfort, and honesty he and Bronze began to develop a genuine friendship. Both guys began to get out of their shells and be more themselves. Bronze became Deacon’s mentor in the process. He doesn’t sugar coat anything, he’s blunt and direct, but simple yet vague. The best was to describe what I mean is with these two moments:
Not only does Bronze find someone who listens to him and treats him like an equal, but Deacon finds a true friend, because plot twist, Deacon doesn’t have friends because he’s shy as hell.
Deacon and the neighbor kid, Prunella are begrudging siblings. He isn’t her babysitter, Chase is, but he takes over from time to time. She bosses him around a bit, and since he has the backbone of a chocolate eclair, he does what she asks. He mostly gets her snacks and stuff, but he puts his foot down at getting her involved in dangerous book shenanigans. He wants to protect her, since she’s eight, but she doesn’t like being protected and would rather do the protecting instead. She would crush him in a fight, no question. Prunella is too powerful. However, she does listen to him when it comes to books and how the plot works. She and him talk on equal footing when they’re together and not being over protective or bossy to the other, as well. Here are some cute moments of them together:
Now, Deacon and Buddy are an interesting combination. In the beginning of the story, Buddy was an enemy/rival to Chase and Deacon. Buddy is the holder of the villainess key, and wanted to steal both Bronze and Silver for a while for an unknown reason. But since they could only meet in books, he couldn’t do so. So, he just followed them around book after book, just being a bully and antagonistic towards the two. However, as time passed, Buddy began to care about Chase as a person. He developed feelings for him pretty early on, but didn’t realize it. So he began to see Deacon as a rival for Chase’s attention and bullied him more. Even when he learned Deacon’s name, he refused to use it and called him Freckles. He has only used his name (almost) twice because of his inferiority complex with a guy who can barely talk to a girl. It was only after learning that Deacon and Chase are cousins did he lighten up a bit. Though, tbh, this whole thing could have (mostly) been avoided if Deacon just told him they were related. But to give Deacon some credit, Buddy was being a jerk and was a stranger, so of course he wouldn’t reveal anything.
To be blunt, they didn’t like each other. Not only was Buddy being a jerk, his goal was clear, but his motives were not (his whole goal changed in the story, he no longer wants to steal from them and genuinely wants to help). They also didn’t know jack about him. No joke/kinda a joke, Buddy was just a nickname that Chase gave him that stuck. They didn’t know his name for a majority of the story. They couldn’t tell if he was in league with the weird wishing cult or not. Deacon didn’t trust Buddy at all, not at first. But Buddy was always weirdly helpful when he didn’t have to be. In a few books, Buddy would give Deacon lectures about responsibility and freedom, all within the guidelines of heroes, villains, and sidekick roles. These lectures/discussions would give Deacon advice on how to act in the story, but also in real life. Where Bronze would be simple but vague, Buddy would lay it on thick. To not give too much away about Buddy’s past, he and Deacon both struggle with freedom and control over their lives in the story. They also struggle with their feeling in terms of romance. They both struggled to talk to their crushes.
As Buddy began to show his genuine self, Chase and him grew closer and started to date within the books. Though Deacon doesn’t see what Chase likes about him, he can at least see Buddy genuinely cares for his cousin, and that is good enough for him. Even though Buddy and Deacon still butt heads, they have grown to trust each other and can work together as a team. They can even chat and get along in a friendly way when nothing is going on. Buddy helps Deacon get out of his shell even further, and Buddy learns to be less of a jerk.
Deacon and Wave are friends. Yep, they’re definitely friends. Yes sir! ::))))
K, no, I can’t do this to ya. Wave is a manipulative asshole and Deacon doesn’t know it. Wave is a part of that weird wishing cult called Ex Libris. The gang knows he is a member, but they’re under the belief that he’s trapped there. He’s not, god no, he’s definitely not. Bro is manipulating the fuck out of everyone, Deacon especially. I won’t get into how or why, especially the why. But just know that Deacon is being manipulated into thinking Wave is an actual friend, when he is not. He reassures him about being a third wheel, how smart he is, and his taste in books and everything. But Wave has alterer motives and is just saying all that stuff to bring Deacon’s guard down so he can gather intel.
Deacon didn’t trust Wave at first (Wave isn’t his real name either, they’re all using code names now due to Wave’s ties to the cult), but over time, he began to see him as a friend and wants to help Wave escape, along with the mission to save the other keys. Wave’s manipulation and actions get worse as the story progresses.
And that’s pretty much the main cast and their dynamic without getting into spoilers. Yes, even the Wave segment.
Next, let’s get into Deacon’s love life. Or rather, lack thereof.
Deacon is as single as Toriel and Asgor are divorced. He immediately makes a fool out of himself when talking to a woman. He’s a big simp and wants a girlfriend, but he can barely talk to his crush. His heart immediately flatlines when he sees a pretty girl. He gets heart eyes and everything, but immediately fumbles when he tries. He gets better at talking to fictional girls, but real life girls? Back to square one. He chickens out and hides when a girl he likes appears. Chase does his best to be a wingman, but home boi needs a miracle. He doesn’t know how to flirt, he stutters, talks about the weather and all that junk. He has zero rizz and he needs legit help.
This lack of rizz is due to his inability to see how handsome he actually is. He is kind, caring, giving and over all reliable. Furthermore, he’s supportive and is eager to help others, and wants to see the best in people. He likes reading, writing fanfiction, and engaging in game and movie theories on the internet. Buddy thought for a while Deacon was Chase’s romantic partner. His lack of rizz is due to his confidence being in the floor. Due to not being confident enough to even walk up and say hi to a girl is where his problems lie. His love life is on life support.
However, this fact is a blessing in disguise because that means he is one of the most eligible bachelors in fiction! He is the most fun to ship out of everyone in the cast because bro is just a dude! He’s that shippable. Boy, girl, magical beings, it doesn’t matter. He’s the most shipped character besides the canon ship. Some are so dedicated, they even want to be his wife. His chemistry with the other characters is that good!
Enemies to lovers? Sure, Deacon’s got that dynamic in the bag. Bro is from a BL with that paring as the main ship. Just look at how he acts with Buddy and you’re good to go!
He’s nurturing and protective to a fault, which is a quality many find appealing. So make him a young dad or in his late thirties to forties in your fic and you’ve got gold.
G/L, say less. CB is built for it. Ship him with a key and you’re golden. But you can even switch it up and make him small.
Yandere Deacon is literally an AU already, and he can pull it off without stretching the canon too much. He’s already turned evil in one arc of CB. It works.
You can put bro into any au and it would work. This series is built to withhold the power of AUs, Crossovers, too. He’d lose his mind if Wonderwoman or some other big character turned up to his dimension. High school, coffee shop, college, superpowers, magic, science fiction, grim dark you name it he can fit in seamless. Even gender swaps are already kinda canon in CB.
Bro literally writes fanfiction in canon, he’s one of us. Write him in whatever and he’d be honored most, likely. Just don’t tell his mom.
Even though he’s canonically straight, since when has that stopped Tumblr? Exactly. Go at him. He’s one of the greenest flags to exist. Heck, make him a red flag just for the lols.
He isn’t a creep when he simps in canon. He’s respectful and stares longingly. Make him one of the biggest yearners to ever yearn. He likes girls of all races, from what’s shown in the comic, so he doesn’t discriminate.
Or don’t ship him and just put him in a fun little adventure, or give him the Danny Phantom treatment and torture him. He’s built for it all!
Deacon is a young guy who’s trying to find his place in the world, like the rest of us. He isn’t a god, nor has he fought god. Even if he did encounter him, he wouldn’t win. He has no super or magical powers. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he tries. He doesn’t know how to use a sword. He’s not evil. Deacon can’t cook either. He’s just a guy. He’s a rare form of guy that is a green flag all around, but he’s still a guy just doing his best to help others.
In the comic, Deacon learns to stand up for himself and his dream to become a writer. He tells his parents his dreams with realistic points about why they should support him, and they DO. They start planning for that future immediately by calling friends who are writers, looking up colleges, and talk to him about accounting— they go all in. And it’s not out of character for them either, it happens very naturally. They’re still excessive, but they care. On top of him standing up for himself, he changes his outfit to better fit his favorite esthetic, Pirates.
That’s right, home boi loves pirates. He wants his future house to look like a normal house on the outside, but on the inside, just a full on pirate ship (that is a statement he made in a deleted scene, but it still feels canon considering what he reads and dresses like, you can read that on Punko’s Patreon for free). He’s wanted to dress in pirate swag, but felt like he never could until he finally stood his ground and bought his first hoodie.
Deacon learns how to navigate through adulthood and adult loneliness throughout the comic in a grounded way that feels genuine. He’s still young and has a lot to learn, but you never stop learning and figuring yourself out, so neither will he. He’s still young and loves his cheesy romance books, horses, and pirates and doesn’t stop loving them as the story progresses. Which, I don’t think he’ll ever stop. When he loves someone or something, it’s pure and stronger than steel. That’s his biggest strength, he loves others, and wants to be loved back. He wants friends, a loving partner, and for his family to be safe and to be proud of him. Loving others is the most adult action one can take, whether it be platonic or romantic, all that matters is that it’s true and from the heart.
Deacon has one of the biggest hearts in this whole series, and that’s why he’s akin to a fluffanutter sandwich. He’s a comfort to readers and the main character as the journey progresses. He’s also the glue that makes this series stick the landing, without Deacon Hollow, it would feel hollow (heh). He is a necessary piece to this elaborate Comedy BL, flaws and all. He added another element that gave each character depth and nuance. Each character is necessary in CB, but Deacon was the first to join Chase in his quest to help, and it would feel empty without him. He is a sticky but filling sandwich held together with white bread and that’s what makes him special. He’s simple, sweet, maybe a bit salty and bitter like peanut butter is occasionally (that peanut butter could be an allegory to how much salt is in his bloodstream, or possibly an allegory for Bronze since he likes peanut butter), and that’s beautiful. He’s a filling sandwich that’s easy and affordable to make, a comfort food that you dream about if you’ve ever had this type of sandwich. This sandwich is there for you, whether you’re an adult or a kid. If you’re allergic to peanuts or gluten, luckily, there are substitutions. They still count as fluffanutters, in my head.
I’ve never met a person who didn’t like a sandwich, and Deacon is a sandwich, therefore he’s one of the sexiest men alive. Case closed.
He's not a good man, he's a bit insane, but he's up against a fascist government that locked him up, experimented on him, and did so much worse. He destroys buildings, says that Justice follows at the heels of those in uniform, and we never see behind his ever-smiling mask.
From my Athair- “Never gets explained. You never see him without the mask. He’s the victim of experiments at a concentration camp and has no memory of his past life - it makes him a cypher, an Everyman for people to identify with. You know he’s adult and disfigured from the experiments, and that he’s a thorn in the side of a fascist government that subjected him to physical and mental horrors which left him with superior strength and fighting abilities.” “Like what? The comic came out in the 80’s as a warning that Thatcher’s England was on the road to fascism. A scathing indictment of conservative politics.”
V is no one and everyone. He is the marginalized, he is those locked away, he is those protesting, he is those who are fighting back. As the girl, Evey, who was helping him said at the end of the film “(V) was all of us.”
Why YOU should vote for Deacon Hollow for Tumblr Sexyman 2k26
First off: Tumblr ate my first post so idk if this will accidentally be posted twice or not
Meet Deacon from Cinderella Boy: cousin of the MC, holder of the Helper Key, and a loveable dork
Why should you vote for him over his two competitors? Let's talk about it!
Character Development
Over the course of the comic Deacon has gone through a lot of character development as he took on the Helper role, reignited his friendship with his cousin, and learns to stand up for and be more confident in himself.
When they first found Bronze (the Helper Key), Deacon saw sidekicks as good-for-nothing and unimportant. As he took on the Helper role, he learned that a lot more goes into being the sidekick than meets the eye and the importance of the role.
Along with accepting the Helper role, Deacon also learned to make his own decisions with his life. His parents were paying for him to go to medical school to become a doctor like his father which was not Deacon's dream career, but he went along because he didn't want to be ungrateful. Even though his parents had his best intentions at heart, he would have been miserable. With some guidance, he learned that he should stand up for himself and make his own decisions, which in his case meant switching from medical school to writing.
He's a Dork Who Loves Horses and Romance Novels
Boris doesn't like him though </3
He's Attractive
Deacon had a MAJOR glow-up in season 2, but he also has had some great outfits in season 1 as well! Plus, who doesn't love a dork with brown hair and freckles?
I know Deacon is a lot less well known than his competition, but if you would, please consider voting for him!
He is the embodiment of a Fluffanutter Sandwich. He’s white bread with marshmallow fluff and chunky peanut butter. Why chunky peanut butter and not smooth peanut butter? Because he’s textured, a flawed mix. But that’s what makes him simply interesting. He’s normal, has an unhealthy diet, and is figuring himself out. In this essay I will—
