Welcome to the Pelican Town Community Center, our little (18+) slice of Stardew Valley heaven!
We’re a small, laid-back server where people can geek out over our fandoms, share our creative works and celebrate all kinds of hobbies and interests. These rules are here to keep things respectful and fun without turning the server into a courtroom—some of us have already had some negative experiences with toxic communities, and our aim is to create a comfortable, kind and supportive space to make friends and collaborate! This server started as a group chat of SDV friends that eventually grew enough to become it’s own community that has been, and will continue to be, organized by the members themselves (i.e. the name was chosen by voting, changes are discussed in the server, channels have been created by request, etc).
By being here, you confirm that you are at least 18. We don’t check IDs, but we expect everyone to act like a responsible adults. If you are found to be under 18, you will be removed.
2. Treat everyone with respect (this is an LGBTQA+ safe space!)
Treat others the way you’d like to be treated, even if you don’t agree with someone. No harassment, targeted insults, discrimination, or drama-stirring. Different opinions and backgrounds are welcome—healthy discussion is great, but keep it civil. If you have any concerns, please bring them to a Server Helper.
If something feels like it might be rude, hurtful, or disruptive, it probably is. We trust you to be a decent human being, junimo, and/or cryptid who would like to be treated with kindness and love as much as the other memebers.
4. Keep things in the right channels
We have channels for many different topics and hobbies—if you’d like to request a channel, please contact @spookyteal and/or @obvsashley! Please try to post in the appropriate ones so everyone can find what they’re looking for. Off-topic chatting is fine in the general channels, and it isn’t a huge deal if you share something in gen-chat that has a ‘correct’ channel.
Please try to keep NSFW art, writing, references, etc. in the correct channels. As this is an 18+ server, general NSFW chat is allowed in gen-chat! Always tag appropriately and never post sensitive topics without TW/CW above the post and || spoiler || so other members can chose to see the post if desired.
6. Don’t spam any channel with @everyone
@everyone is intended for the Server Helpers to make announcements in gen-chat.
7. Voice Chat (game nights, watch parties, etc.)
Be courteous—don’t talk over people, play loud audio without permission, or leave your mic on with background noise. Mute when needed, each event that uses voice chat also has a text chat alongside it.
8. Bring issues to a Server Helpers
If something’s bothering you or you see rule-breaking behavior, please let a Server Helper know instead of handling it publicly. We’ll address it fairly and privately when possible. This is meant to be. a friend group less than an official fandom server.
Final Note: We’re a small community or friends that value kindness, inclusivity, and good vibes over heavy-handed rules and strict guidelines. As long as you’re respectful and use common sense, you’ll fit right in! We’re excited to have you and hope you enjoy this community!
