Urgent prayer request for my dad, A, who is going to go through radiotherapy for his late stage ca. I’m feeling overwhelmed and anxious, and i can only say ‘God, help,’ but please pray for my dad’s overall condition and my family who’s trying to support him. Thank you very much.

Update on this. Dad went through with the radiotherapy and for the past months he got weaker but was still able to do his daily routines. Last night he got admitted to the hospital with confusion/delirium, and local doctor thought it’s because of the brain mets. I think he’s rapidly declining. Can i ask for more prayers for my dad and family? I’m afraid he won’t last long. Lord, have mercy.

“Jesus was fully human and fully divine” is conventionally accepted doctrine. It’s called the hypostatic union. It’s in the Athanasian creed.

Sounds like wormnoodless is recapitulating Eutychianism (Christ exists in one nature and of two), which was rejected by the Fourth Ecumenical Council in 451, instead adopting Dyophysitism (Jesus Christ is one person of one substance and one hypostasis, with two distinct, inseparable natures: divine and human), which is still the main belief of most major denominations.

Reading the lives of many of the saints, some of them seem almost inhuman. That’s why I’m glad there’s a saint like Joseph of Cupertino, who is known, among other things, for being kind of a dumbass.

He frequently forgot what he was told to do, dropped piles of dishes, found exams “difficult and stressful,” and was generally regarded as “remarkably unclever.” He passed his seminary exams by miraculously only being asked questions he knew. He’s the patron saint of students sitting exams and people with learning disabilities (also pilots, because he was prone to levitation).

“O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing.”
